Christmas Parade Taping...Etc

Taping for the parade will start on 11-29, weather permitting and possible extra dates are 11-30, 12-1 and 12-2. Main street will be closed as well as in front of the Castle. THE Coronado Springs is the Host hotel for about 200 cheerleaders for those dates as well. Plan ahead for crowds at MK those days!

Where did you hear this?. When I spoke to someone from Disney they told me the parade taping is always on a Friday and that it was the 30th this year. I need to know for sure to plan my trip away from MK

It always been posted here that the parade is always taped on Saturday with Sunday as a ran date. On Friday they do some of the stage shows but never the parade.

You are right, now I remember. The cast member said all stage shows were taped on Friday and the parade on Saturday.

We saw a stage show and the parade taped last year. Justin Bieber sang right in front of the castle on Saturday at about 9a. People were already lining up for the parade taping. If you go for the show/parade it is NUTS!
But if you go to ride....we walked right on to all of them.

My daughter is participating with Disney Dance the Magic as part of the parade taping and the itinerary we have been given is filming on Friday, Nov. 30 with rain dates to be Dec 1/2 if needed. Not sure if that is the same for all groups/performers participating or not.

If you do decide to enter the park on a taping day, my suggestion is to enter the park, head right up to the train station, hop on the train and it will take you to the back of the park for rides. You can also walk down through the Emporium to get to rides...since everyone will be on Main Street. Stick to the left when you enter the gate and make your way around to the Emporium. It is a freakin' zoo on Main Street...but the rides are open with hardly any wait.

Yikes! We have a Crystal Palace ADR @ 8:05 on Friday the 30th. Just DH and me, going home Dec.1st. Will it be that crazy that early? W may just eat and RUN... LITERALLY! Not sure whether to keep this reservation!

They usually tape the parade Saturday.

Hello, I was just curious about the cheerleaders who were performing. I see in your signature you have a daughter who is 12. My daughter's dance team is dancing in the parade this year but she also does all-star cheer for the last 6 years. She is 10 and I was trying to find an organization for her to do the parade as a cheerleader maybe in the future so I was just curious what organization your daughter is cheering with and how did she qualify to participate in the parade?

To Cheer in the parade, they had to go to a NCA camp and be nominated for All American....That gets them the invite to the "special events" This was more school cheer. I believe the NDA "dance" also does something there too. She also does All Star. We are not going to Christmas Parade b/c she has all star comp. that weekend. But, a few of her friends are. What a dream come true! Maybe another year!!!!

I know for sure the dancers are performing on Saturday. They will be performing in the normal 3pm MK parade and there are over 700 dancers so you can pretty much guarantee all their family members will be in the MK at least that afternoon. The dancers have practice offsite (no one allowed but dancers) all morning and then they bus them to MK where they perform in the parade and are then given back to their families. I know that our dance team is planning on staying at MK the rest of the day to enjoy the park so you may want to hit MK in the morning if you want to try and avoid some of the crowds! Dancers are taped on Saturday and are staying at either Port Orleans Riverside or Caribbean Beach.

SUPER excited for my DD9 to dance through the MK. In addition to the taping on 12/1 they will also do a parade on 11/29.

Our dance team is getting really excited too!!! What is your dance company's name? Ours is Turning Pointe Dance Company from Roscoe, IL. My DD10 is beyond excited to do this. She will be with the Newsies group, how about your daughter?

We leave this Sunday for a glorious two weeks with the mouse so we are getting into the stress zone right now with packing, etc. but it is sooo worth it for two weeks of R&R

The taping is for the Disney Christmas parade that is played on Christmas day.

Also to answer another posters question. Yes they tap the parade on Friday but on Thursday they do a dress rehearsal.
