Christmas & My Happy Place Equals Perfection. - A Dec 2011 PTR

I highly recommend the Vida. I love combining fabrics and this is the perfect dress for it. Also, it can be worn as a top as a child gets older.

My new love is the Olivia -- I have only made it as shirts so far, but my dd is most comfortable in knits and now that I started working with them I no longer fear them -- I even taught myself to lettuce edge (all I needed to do was watch a YouTube video as my manual is for the birds).

I need to make a list like you did. I still have an Insa that I started in the summer just sitting here b/c I can't find the right trim. I have Halloween applique patterns that I have yet to stitch out. I have a BG to start today too (I'm really hoping to make this a very quick one). Right now I'm cleaning my sewing space though as I am so tired of tripping over fabric. I have so much fabric sitting around that I can't even cut.

If you need any bowling shirt help let me know -- I might actually be able to make it in my sleep!

I have not made the Vida yet, but I have made the Feliz in dolly size - and I love the Feliz. I would totally recommend that one, especially if you follow the tutorial on the disbou thread first post - I never would have figured it out otherwise.

I just resized another Farbenmix pattern the other day, and I sewed my first real item with it... I am not so sure I like this one in dolly size though, but it's adorable in girls sizes - so who knows??? Maybe it's just my eyes playing tricks on me? LOL

I can't wait to hear more about your trip! :)

and this is one of the reasons I love going for the Holidays. This is from 2009 when we took my parents for Thanksgiving.

:wave2: Joining in. I just love this photo.

The VIDA is a great dress to make. If I can do it anyone can. I wanted to make DD another one but she told me she will only wear Tshirts and maybe a skirt for our next trip:sad1:

Just wanted to add that we are the same age and DH fell in love with Disney on our Honeymoon in 1996. He had never been but always wanted to as a kid so when we were thinking of places to Honeymoon we both thought of DISNEY °♥°

Michelle she may change her mind. C loves the extra attention of the clothes at Disney.

She doesn't wear as many things I make at home but that is okay with me.

finishing the razorbacks outfit today and starting on Cs Halloween skirt and shirt. i started cutting it out yesterday.

^ I can't wait to see everything! :)

Okay so I made a small list of some things I need to work on not all related to our trip but I figure if I post here, someone will hold me accountable.

Halloween Skirt & Shirt for Miss C.

Razorbacks skirt & shirt DONE

Razorbacks Easy fits and Shirt (this is a test outfit since my cousin wants to pay me for making her son 2 outfits and agreed to my price for the both outfits which I never thought was going to happen.)

Christmas Presents (I have never made these)
Crayon rolls for Daniel, Mark & Emma

December
J Bowling shirt (going to finally try this, I am extremely nervous about button holes)

Since C is reusing a few of her skirts I need to make short sleeved shirts that she can layer.
American Flag Mickey Shirt
Tink Shirt
Belle Shirt
Christmas Skirt & Shirt (I have fabric need to decide on the appliques for this)

I also have a big give to work on. I may actually iron fabric and cut the easy fits I need today. Since sewing doesn't take that long.

I am also trying to decide if Patterned (character) Fabric is okay for pants for J or if it would be better to do a solid and make the character fabric a cuff. Decisions decisions.

Okay finally finished one outfit on this list. I did also start Cs Halloween skirt I have it cut out. Need to cut the ric rac and start pinning it together.

Here is the Razorbacks Birthday Outfit. I didn't like the shirt when I did it but it is actually growing on me.

I quite like the shirt and the colors and fabrics on the entire outfit are great.

I need to get back to the sewing room to shorten straps on a tote. Grrr! Why didn't I notice they were too long for a 6 year old BEFORE I sewed them down. Party is in 3 hours and I'm still in my jammies and dd hasn't even showered. The birthday is likely going to be at our house in an hour or so as I told her mom we'd keep her out of her hair for last minute party prep. So I better get that tote fixed and get dressed b/f she comes over.

How is your dd with Halloween fabrics? Mine is soooo picky -- dislikes spiders and witches and basically anything scary. Is happy with cats and pumpkins. I am also very disappointed in the lack of variety of Halloween fabrics this year. Our Walmart has NONE! Granted they downsized, but still 5 or so bolts would have been nice.

She actually chose a Disney Fabric but there were a few really cute patterns at Joann's.

DS actually is just getting an appliqued shirt.

The title of your PTR is great. WDW and perfection certainly go together in my mind.

I've never done Disney for the holidays. How is the weather? My husband and I have toyed with the idea of doing an early December mini-trip to see the decorations and Candellight Processional, but it was so cold last February when I went that I can't get past that.

I love your restaurant choices. I've done them all except Yachtsman, and I can only imagine the meal there will be fabulous. (As I'm writing this I've been baking chocolate cakes -- four total -- as props for my son's film. The house smells wonderful and I think at this point any meal would sound good, but I think Yachtsman might be a little fancier than my kitchen!)

Who is the razorbacks fan? Did I miss that somewhere along the line?

LAst year it was so cold Christmas week except for Christmas when it was in the 70s.

This is for my little girl cousin they live in Arkansas. One town from where the Razorbacks play and her dad is a huge Razorbacks fan.

Cheryl, we went two years ago the second week in December. I have been to FL many times in Dec. I remember on Dec 25 being at Epcot and it was a whooping 26 degrees! Anyhoo, I expected cold but I made mistakes. Mistake #1, I didn't pack myself any shorts. Mistake #2, I didn't pack any swimsuits and had to go to Target to buy everyone suits b/c we swam at least three days. My kids wore shorts and dd had a sleeveless shirt for evening magic hours at MK one night. There were a couple of days it was very hot, a couple it was pleasant, and the last day we did have to do long sleeve shirts under the kids clothes and leggings for dd. It was never cold enough for jackets except I wore a knit blazer I have over my shirt a couple of times b/c I'm always cold. So basically it's hit or miss. I was thrilled with our weather.

subbing.. I love your castle picture. Your outfit is so adorable.. dining plans look good. I have never tried any of the fancy places to eat I am always trying to make the kids happy with the character meals :).. Some day I will get an adult only trip and get to try all the things my kids won't let me..:goodvibes Can't wait to read more ~Dawn~

Dawn Welcome.

Okay I have the Halloween skirt all cut out and ready to be sewn. I even have the ric rac pinned to the main skirt pieces. Going to try and sew the ric rack and hem band before work this morning.

If I get that done I will be itching to get the gathering and waistband on all day LOL.

OH I received sewing clothes kids love in the mail yesterday so I am taking that to work to read. I also ordered the Vida Pattern so I am going to make one of those for my niece for Christmas maybe.

Need to order DDs birthday present from AG today too.

Love the colors though I know next to nothing about college football:lmao:

As long as we are not going you should be fine.:rotfl2: We went at the beginning of December and it was colder in FL than NewEngland. One day it was 14° walking through EPCOT :cold: They said it was a fluke cold spell..... well they said the same thing when we went Jan,2001 when we froze our @$## off! So I think the cold just follows us when we go:rotfl:

So the %$&%$&# Halloween skirt is done, I bought some Riley Blake Doodlebug fabric to use with the Mickey fabric and it was a nightmare to work with. Not a very good weight. Think I need to go back to using more Michael Miller fabric.

So now I am putting designs on my Flash drive so I can work on the shirts I need to do.

I am also trying to decide which Marvel fabric to use for the big give I need to do this weekend.

Hoping to have the Halloween outfit completed this afternoon. Going to be moving the embroidery machine to the dining room so I can work on shirts.

Miss C decided for this trip she didn't want an autograph book since it is Christmas and you know what I am okay with that.

We are going to order Passports for her and AJ ( our friends son). We are also going to put a lanyard together for pintrading for him.

Need to decide what shirts to make for the friends. Thinking of Mickey Heads and P & F for them.

Decisions Decisions.

This weekends projects are:
  1. Finish Halloween DONE
  2. Big Give Shorts DONE
  3. Big Give Hero Shirt DONE
  4. Tink Shirt DONE
  5. Tink SkirtAlmost Done

If I finish all this over the weekend I am going to be one happy camper

That is a bummer about the Riley Blake fabric... I use a lot of their fabric and I've never had a problem with it. I can't wait to see pictures of the skirt you made. :wizard:

Wow sounds like you will be very busy. Sending Pixie dust that you get it all finished:wizard:

Thanks girls.

I have the shorts cut out and may try to get up before the boy in the AM to sew them.

Also washing tink fabric right now. My goal for tomorrow is 3 shirts and finish the shorts.

I am so hoping to have some pictures for you all tomorrow.
