Christmas & My Happy Place Equals Perfection. - A Dec 2011 PTR

Thanks D and Nini that little boy has us all wrapped around his finger which at times can be a huge problem LOL.

ok I have done nothing crafty since Friday morning but I did buy some new fabric.

But first this is my new oven

Ok, you know you are a Disney fanatic when you see hidden Mickey's everywhere! Anyone else notice that the safety latch and the knobs on her cabinets below the gorgeous new oven form a Mickey head. My first reaction was "oh my where did she find Mickey head cabinet closers", lol.

Yeah....I'm obsessed.

so today we are heading out with my MOm no clue what we are doing but we need to get out because the boy is in a wild not listening mood today and the DH needs to sleep.

Going to finish a Christmas present this weekend and going to start wrapping presents.

I vow to be all done by December 1st.

Oh and I want to do the Donald and minnie panels of the skirt.

OK... So, I can't remember where I read this...

Chiara... Did I read it right... You've only been sewing since Oct/Nov of last year???? I didn't realize that we've only been sewing the same amount of time - the way you sew and the things you make, I really thought you'd been sewing forever!

YOU ARE AN AMAZING SEAMSTRESS!!!!! I cannot believe all the wonderful items you make and how quickly you put them together... You are MY idol!!!!! Totally! ;)

Yep only since right before our trip last December. Thanks for the compliment I appreciate it.

This is the first skirt I ever made. (it is a YCMT pattern)

and this is the outfit I made for my niece last Christmas. Ariel is her favorite princess

So lets hope today is better than yesterday with the boy. I was in bed by 8:30 with a horrible headache and I have done no projects and I am at 43 days.

I hope you're feeling better today. :lovestruc Here's to finishing all the projects on your list by the end of the day.... :wizard:

I love those outfits... What did you use for the pink elastic waistband on that first skirt? It looks really comfy. :lovestruc

D~

both of those have knit waist bands. Honestly I now prefer regular waistbands over those LOL.

Why do you prefer regular waistbands? These are so unique. So, do you just use the knit from a t-shirt, or what?

Sooooo confused - I hope the rest of the day doesn't need as much explanation as my morning has. LOL

D~

I bought jersey knit but you could use a t-shirt but they get very bulky to sew

I make the knit waist band skirts for my little niece sometimes. I'll buy a t-shirt and cut it off to make a t-shirt dress. Then I use the piece that I cut off to make the waistband for a skirt. It works better with the stretchier knits. My little niece would love the Ariel outfit that you made. She loves mermaids! It is amazing that you have only been sewing such a short time. You make such pretty things! You obviously have great instincts for how things will look when you are planning out your outfits. What made you decide to start sewing?

Just want to share my joy. I was able to applique one of the skirt panels. so I am halfway there.

Going to try to get at least one more done today.

and here is a picture of my boy (who has been driving me crazy all weekend) enjoying his cookie when we ate in France.

Glad you were able to get a skirt panel appliqued.

LIttle J is adorable!!! :lovestruc

He did enjoy that cookie.

Well I did 2 more panels of the Christmas skirt so 2 more and then I am ready to sew (as soon as I finish cutting the rest out)

I was going to sew tonight but I cut my thumb pretty bad while cutting some ribbon.

So I have 2 projects ready to sew tomorrow night or after noon.

I am shooting to finish the panels this week.

I just feel better that I made some progress this weekend and I have a bunch to get done this week.

I am so happy that you were able to get a few things accomplished... Totally can't wait to see the skirt! :)

Cutie!!!! Good thing he's such a neat eater too ... kind of him to make it so his mom doesn't have to worry about getting chocolate stains out of the white polo :upsidedow

Glad you are making progress on the skirt panels. I must get sewing today -- I have to make an auction item and then I signed up for the latest BG which is a two week deadline for shipping and I will be unavailable past the 22nd so must have it ready to ship by then.

So when I last left you I was having a horrible weekend with the boy and wasn't able to get anything done.

Then I finished 2 appliques

today I cut out a pair of easy fits for a big give and finished a pair for a Christmas gift.

Tomorrow I am going to try the big give shorts and then try and find a penguin with a scarf design to applique so I can mark one more present off my list.

I still have loads of sewing for the trip. Mostly for the boy :) It will get done I just have to try and not stress myself even if we are going to be in the 30s tomorrow.

Plus I want to make something for G and I too.

love the minnie and mickey! can't wait to see it all put together!

okay I need some advice. I needed a little of stres free sewing so I am making another item for Barbara's auction.

I am making this skirt but adding some magenta jumbo ric-rac to it

I have a pink shirt and want to put an applique on it. What would you do?
It doesn't have to be Disney.

I love this skirt as does DD who wears it every week to dance LOL. Here she is modeling it

okay back to work. I was off yesterday so I have quite a bit to do here today.

I almost finished shorts for a big give this morning and I better work on my transfers for the rest of the give since I am in charge of wish shirts.
