Christmas & My Happy Place Equals Perfection. - A Dec 2011 PTR

Thanks D and Nini that little boy has us all wrapped around his finger which at times can be a huge problem LOL.

ok I have done nothing crafty since Friday morning but I did buy some new fabric.

But first this is my new oven

Now onto the yummy fabric

This penguin fabric is for my godson's Christmas present.

This is for my first vida DD picked the fabric

Some new disney fabric, the Mickey fabric is Flannel

This scooby fabric is for an order and was on sale (so I bought it in case my cousin pays me for her order, I refuse to start until I get paid, just don't trust people and outfits take time)
006.jpg

I have more but photobucket is being a pain.

Hoping to get something done once dd gets up. I really would like to start the applique panels of the Christmas skirt.

Did anyone else notice that Mickey Head cleverly disguised as a child safety lock?

I hate photobucket so much that I now use flicker...or however it is spelled. It is 100 times more user friendly, you just have a bunch of stuff to take off the web address to make it post without all those annoying words... (and yes, I do still consider that more user friendly.LOL!)

Lovin' your new oven!

And all the fabric is perfect... The penguins are adorable (I love penguins)... And I love the fabric dd chose for her Vida... I can't believe you've never done a Vida before???? I could have sworn you have. :surfweb:

Hopefully your cousin pays you for the Scooby item soon. I agree - I don't work either, until I am paid - Custom orders anyways. :thumbsup2

Nope never made a Vida.

I quoted what I thought was reasonable prices for 2 outfits 32.00 each for Easy Fits and shirts with multiple appliques. She said she would send money but hasn't. I saw the fabric for under 9.99 so I bought it figure worse comes to worse I will sell it on etsy

So the Christmas skirt is officially underway. I finished 2 of the 6 panels. I think I am loving how it is coming out.

Here is a little sneak peek... Tinkerbell & Pluto

Where did you get theses designs....and they look nice, but are they stitching out nice? I have been burned many, many times buying designs that are not from Heather Sue only to find that the stitch out is less than perfect. Since I 'think' we will be doing a Christmas trip next year, I am searching for more Christmas Disney designs...

Nini

yay on your new oven!

love the holiday panel's you are creating!

and lots of fun fabric too!

Thanks Nini and Lisa.

Nini the designs are from bows and clothes. They are not stitching out the best but that may be a matter of my hooping. but if I watch and hold the fabric tighter they stitch much better. I am going to try and use spray adhesive on the next one see if that works better since the fabric is so thin.
They do not sew as well as Heathers at all.

I did have an idea for princesses and tinkerbell after seeing someone elses design of doing the princess cuties in Christmas colored outfits.

Rats...that is who I was afraid you were going to say...I have never had any luck getting hers to stitch out as well as I would like.

And I know that if you are not an embroiderer...you would not notice that they are not perfect...but since I am they would drive me crazy....and I know the saying that people shouldn't be looking at my kids clothes that close...

(my way to handle less than perfect designs is to add twice as many skirt panels and add a petti. That way there is too much to look at to notice if they are perfect..yes I am weird! LOL)

Can't wait to see the finished product.

Nini

HA HA HA I know what you mean though. When I stitch these designs I have to be on top of them. Can't be involved in anything else which makes them take even longer in my mind.:lmao:

Jimmy is my miracle. This is a picture of him in the hospital before we found out about his problems. We thought he was just having breathing issues (LOOK how small Miss C is)

This little guy has stolen our hearts and taught us so much.
Your little Jimmy is such a cutie. I love the picture of him in the Santa hat. Your daughter was so young. Thanks for sharing about Jimmy. I can imagine that things could get very frustrating for you and J but you seem to be doing so much for him. In my book a smile is worth about one million words, at least.

Your skirt panels look GREAT. I always get frustrated with designs from B&C. Tears are usually involved. I'm always so happy when I'm done stitching out a HeatherSue design.

Your little guy was an adorable baby. He sounds like he is very sweet! I love the Skittles story. My sister's son is also non-verbal. They are trying out some ipad apps with him. I have heard that a lot of kids on the spectrum really get engaged with some the apps. You must love hearing J saying mum!

Your new oven looks great too! I love having two ovens. It certainly makes holidays a lot easier. Mostly my lower oven is used for storage but around Thanksgiving, it definitely gets some use!

Thank you. I love those kids more than I can ever say. Definately not my favorite designs The thing that annoys me at times is one section will go beautifully and then the next one like crap LOL.

Thanks Diane. We have found quite a few apps for him. We gave him our old ipad when we got the iPad 2. This is the oven I use for the turkey so I don't have to bend over LOL.

Yep there will be a Donald it is one of the ones she chose LOL.

And good thing I am making you wish for things because I have been stalking for vintage sewing machines LOL

Now I am at work reading about them. I have 47 days to go and I am taking on more projects :lmao:

I don't think I am happy unless I am overwelmed with a huge to do list :headache:

Oh but I did wash 3 different fabrics for Christmas presents and trip outfits.

ROFL Chiara! :rotfl2: Sorry about the machine envy... But I do believe there is a $700 difference in the machine I am making you wish for, and the machine you are making me wish for. :rolleyes1 Not sure I see the fairness in that... :worship:

Yay for Donald... Is he going on the front??? That is his rightful place, you know. :thumbsup2

Okay it is all D's fault but I am now the proud owner of a Singer Model 99 it is a 3/4 machine it is the baby sister to the Singer Model 66.

I love my new machine I can't believe how much quieter she is than my Duetta. Now I think I need to be like D and Marianne and name my machines.

Pictures will be posted tomorrow when the light is better.

If anyone knows how to get the mothball smell out of something I would love to know?

Lucky you! Looking forward to pictures tomorrow! I am not sure how to get the mothball smell out of the machine. Is it in a wood cabinet?

WAHOO!!!! Congrats Chiara! I will do some research on it this morning - I know I've read about that somewhere, and it's kind of common. I'll get back to you. :thumbsup2

Again - Congrats - you will love her!
