We love to visit the other resorts for meals and exploring. Favorite Christmastime resort activities? We'll be there Thanksgiving Day for a week. Staying at POR but love to eat at signatures in the resorts.

Thanks!

I would go to the Grand Floridian to see the gingerbread house. All of the deluxe resorts have a display for the holidays. The beach club has gingerbread carrousel. Fort wilderness does hayrides for the holidays.

Go to Ft Wilderness some evening and walk around a few of the loops for decorations. :thumbsup2

Hey there-

I have a blog and free ebook about Christmas at Disney. You can find it at survivedisxmas.com.

As far as the resorts, start with the monorail loop.

All resorts have trees that are decorated based on the hotel's theme.

- The Contemporary is nice, but underwhelming to be honest. They have a giant Frozen display on the (I believe) 4th floor. There's some souvenirs, but outside of that, there's not a ton to do.

- The Poly doesn't have anything that makes it stand out. It does have a few gingerbread houses here and there, though.

- The GF is the main event. It has a life-size gingerbread house with a working chimney. The chimney pumps out a cinnamon smell. There's also a towering tree at the center of the lobby. Grab some awesome photos from the floor or go onto the second floor for a better view and angle. Between the bright white decor and golden hues, it really is an awe-inspiring experience. It reminds me a lot of the Plaza Hotel in Home Alone 2.

- The Wilderness Lodge and Fort Wilderness is amazing. Once you step foot inside the Wilderness Lodge, you're instantly transported to a ski lodge in the Pacific Northwest. The towering tree, combined with the three-story fireplace adds for some real relaxation. Pull up a rocking chair near the fireplace or sit around the huge Christmas tree. It's truly an amazing atmosphere. It's like going to a ski lodge without the snow!

- Fort Wildnerness features amazing decorations from guests. RVs pull up as early as November and decorate with over-the-top inflatables, train sets, lights and more. The campsite offers horse-drawn carriage rides for (I believe $80). It really adds to the aesthetics.

- Yacht & Beach Club also have some great decor. I think the Beach Club has the gingerbread carousel. The Yacht has a train set. Both have decorated trees based on the resort's theme. The Boardwalk has a gorgeous lobby which is brought to life during the holiday season. The outside lawn has a beautifully lit tree and the inside has a gingerbread boardwalk shop and tree. Again, it's a bright white lobby that is gorgeous.

Hope this helps!!

You can't beat the atmosphere at Grand Floridian. The smell of the gingerbread house and the beautiful decorations just bathe the whole resort in Christmas spirit!

I also really love Wilderness Lodge. That huge crackling fire in front of the rocking chairs and the enormous tree, with Christmas music playing in the background. Love it.
