Does anyone know what day they tape the Christmas morning parade in the Magic Kingdom. Last year it was the first Saturday of December and I'm hoping NOT to be there for it again.

So ... is it always the first Saturday? Do they always finish the taping in one day?

Thanks,
Diane

It usually takes 3-4 days to film all that they need and the dates vary year to year based on scheduling. It is usually sometime the first week of December (or early the second) but it is not set in stone.

Isn't the Christmas parade is only seen during MVMCP until the week of Christmas? If so, do they tape it at MVMCP or do the have a special daytime parade for the taping? I thought it was taped during the day - so just assumed that they taped in later in the month once they started showing it during the day.

Just curious.

It doesn't run like a regular parade. You don't just sit down, watch it and 20 minutes later it's done. They stop and start, run one float at a time down Main Street, reshoot scenes. If you want to see it all, you'll be there for hours. They do not schedule it on the official hours.

Thanks for the info LibertyBelle - I was hoping it was just the one day (Saturday) so we could enjoy the park on Sunday. This WDW trip is a short one for us because we're cruising for a week.

Do you happen to know where and when I can get the exact dates of the taping?

Thanks,
Diane

We were there last December. and thay were taping the parade the first Saturday and Sunday. In addition, there was other taping going on during the week - for example, Enrique Inglesies (sp?) was doing multiple lipsyncs for his performance on Monday afternoon.

No promises, but I will see what I can find out for you. I usually help out with large filming events like that. I might be able to find out when this years is planned.
