Christmas is over...now we can fully look forward to WDW

We were supposed to leave at 4am this morning but thanks to the Christmas Blizzard in Omaha, we are stuck home. And if we don't leave tomorrow, I'm going to have a mutiny on my hands!!! The van is packed, 3 of the 4 kids are in bed, my husband is asleep as he will take the first leg of the trip. All we need is for the interstates in Iowa and Missouri to open up and we will hit the road. In laws' Disney house first, then to AKV on Jan. 3.

With all this snow, it seems so far away... send me some pixie dust!!

We are so excited!

DH and I leave Thursday morning. We haven't packed anything!

We've got to get going.

Good luck I hope you get going soon. We are suppose to leave on Wed. afternoon. We are driving and I am hearing some snow for us in the Northeast. We planned on making it to the middle of Virginia, but I don't know if that will be posssible. I too can't wait. Packing starts tomorrow along with the Christmas decorations coming down. I am crazy but I don't like to have to take them down when we come home around Jan 10. Wish me luck with the weather.

We come home on Jan. 10, too and I am NOT looking forward to taking the Christmas decorations down either! I guess that's what we get for going now. Yeah, I can handle it. :goodvibes

Leaving in about three weeks for DD's 16th birthay trip. Can't wait for the day to arrive but am rethinking the idea to bring five of her friends along with us.

Count me in on this feeling! I have 2 trips planned for 2010 (not nearly as close as some of you!!). In April a 8 day BLT/BWV and then in September 2010 a 5 day trip in a Grand Villa with 8 of my girl friends for my 60th birthday!!I am having all the "girls" over for brunch in January to go over the details (buying park tickets, dining, etc) and am busting with excitement over just this part....2 of them have never been to Disney!!

I agree OP :thumbsup2 We leave in 2 weeks and I so need this trip. I love Christmas but this year it was extremely stressful, DH got the flu, work got crazy and DD wrecked her car and I had to chauffeur her to the stores. Thankfully everyone is now healthy and I can start getting everything ready for our trip in 2 weeks.

I am nervous and excited at the same time. I am going by myself with my 8 year old and the 2 year old.

My 8 year old has told me not to worry we will have a blast.

Count us in with this thread... January 9. If New Year's could come faster. lol but I'm the same way. I love the holidays, but it's so hard when you have a WDW trip so close to look forward to.

OK...I admit, I'm enjoying it all. Christmas was a great day...2 recruits from the Coast Guards joined our little family, including DM (90) for the day. Today there is just 1 night left before we head up to Boston to see our DGC, DDiL and DS. All this, more visiting friends and THEN on Jan. 6th 9 of us, including DGC go to BLT for a 5 night Marathon weekend stay.

Safe travels and happy wishing and planning to all!

Bobbi:goodvibes

I found Christmas to be very stressful this year. I had school right up until the 24th & I had a ton of cooking to do for our big family dinner on Christmas Day. We spent the last couple of days visiting friends & family. My living room still looks like a bomb went off, I still have some shopping to do, haven't packed a thing & we leave in 2 days!

We leave on Jan 19th too!!! 21 days and counting!!!! 1st stay at Boardwalk...I think I might be living in the ESPN Club!

I am in the same boat as you. I can`t stop thinking about our trip. We are so excited. We have my cousin joining us on this trip. She has never been to Disney or anywhere really. This is her first time on a plane too. My two boys are very excited to show her around the parks. They have our days planned out. :)

:cheer2: We are doing the single digit dance now....9 days to go!! :cool1:

I'll start getting excited for my trip that begins on January 6th once I take down the Christmas decorations, which happens this weekend. Since we are not coming home until the 16th they HAVE to come down this weekend! Safe travels to everyone!

I started packing today - even though there are 25 days until we leave. Its never too early to pack :-)

We depart for AKV 1/10...it is a great way to eliminate post-holiday blues, isn't it?

We were just there, at BCV, for T-giving, so for us Christmas was a fun "in between" from Disney trips!!

As for Christmas decorations...one of my favorite Christmas gifts is the offer from a close friend to come over and take down and pack up all the Christmas decorations while we're gone...now THAT's a cool gift!!!

Christmas was great, but different, for us this year...we're really happy to have our week of Disney magic to help swing us back into the normal craziness of year-round life...and this year I also have an extra, special five-day trip to BLT in mid-Feb, so I think I may have found "the way" to beat the winter blues!

OK...fingers crossed for all of us that any and all add'l blizzards and ice storms (but haven't we gotten all of them for this year out of our systems already????--grin) happen on any day but our travel days!!!

Happy New Year to all...

We don't go to Disney 'til April! But just knowing we're going in a few months made the "let down" after Christmas feel much better!! Our tree was decorated all Disney (except for the kid's annual pictures as ornaments). Plus this year we purchased a "Christmas monorail" on Ebay that someone painted and decorated exclusively for Christmas! Looked beautiful riding around under our tree and will now be a permanent addition to our Holiday decor!

Anyway...I'm sooo jealous of all of you that are leaving soon!!! Best wishes for Magical vacations to all!!!:thumbsup2

Really funny...I was looking through old threads and stumbled upon this one from last year. Here we are again...before the post Christmas let down can fully set in, I'm looking ahead to Disney. We're going February 9th! Who's with me? Disney...here we come!

We leave tomorrow and we hope to be joined by our Boston branch of the family who are staying near the airport in hopes of being able to fly out to join us.
