Has anyone done this before with just adults on the trip? The In Room Celebrations look brilliant online but they are very expensive.

I know saying "is it worth it?" is subjective but any actual experiences of this would be interesting to here.
We're from the UK, so taking anything sizeable home is tricky!

I've ordered the gift baskets before and they had a good reception but I'm just not sure about spending $400 ?!

since you would also have to add shipping cost - probably would not.
go over on the DVC resort and see if any Christmas trees are available during your time at WDW. they pass christmas trees and other stuff around - so it only cost a little amount - the last person (guest) has to ship it back to the person who first brought it (or had it shipped down).
think they have started?

I wouldn't spend $400 to decorate my room. Hubby and I went to Disney at Christmas two different times. Each time I bought a small tree (something that would fit in my carry-on), with some lights and I made decorations with paper, stickers, and pipe cleaners (so they were really light). I also brought window clings to put on the mirror and windows. One time I even brought little stockings and hubby and I did secret santa for each other. It was way cheaper. I did leave the tree in the room the first time, the second time my sister and her family were arriving at the same resort a day after we left so I left the tree at luggage services for her and she picked it up and used it and she had room so she brought it home. Each time the decorations were definitely under $25. I know you are coming from the UK so it might be a little more difficult to have a small tree but you could just bring some window clings and it would jazz up your room and give you a holiday feeling without spending a lot of money.

It's not really decorations I'm thinking of though, the In Room Celebrations are a bit decorative but they are more "gifts" than decs.

I guess I hadn't looked into the celebrations before, I assumed it was just a Christmas tree. It does look pretty cool, I still don't know if it is worth the price. If anyone else doesn't know what it entails here is the website.

My opinion-as you do not receive an in-room Xmas tree, only a banner and some luminaries, the package would not be worth $450 to me. I would just buy $100 worth of Xmas themed items at the parks and decorate the room with them.

I see that you are coming from the UK but I love to jazz up my rooms when I come down with family and friends since we don't stay on property. I get the wall clings that you stick and they come right off and they have some that you can put winter gear on. I also do a gift basket with all kinds of stuff in it that I order from Zulily. I bring down embroidered towels for everyone.

I spend less than 400 for about 6 people to get great gifts and have a nicely decorated room.

Thanks for the responses, you're kinda reaffirming what I was thinking - nice but just too expensive!
I'm thinking I'll order something nice for delivery and maybe sneak a small tree/decs into our packing. If I can get a bargain one, I can just leave it behind and hopefully the next people in our room may enjoy!

Amazon has some really inexpensive pre lit trees, etc. If you order from them, your resort will hold your order at guest services until you arrive. That way you don't have to pack anything... Also you can have any gifts for your DH delivered as well. Christmas snacks can come from the local delivery grocer. Just some ideas to save cash and room in your luggage...
