Christmas Ideas 2022

have you considered a subscription to the broadway streaming service? these are the professionally filmed performances so the quality is very good. my oldest just mentioned the other day that there's a sale going for a 1 year subscription for $99.
Thank you for the idea. This is something I hadn't thought of.

I FINALLY finished shopping this morning after getting gifts for the pups. The only thing I have left to get is stocking stuffers.... I always have the hardest time with this. What are your go-to budget friendly stocking stuffers?

My stocking stuffers (for grownups) are trial size health/beauty items, pocket tissue, holiday $1 scratch off lottery tickets, their favorite candies. The kids usually get cards they’re collecting, small cans of Playdoh, specialty candy items, Hot Wheels, stuff like that.

Lip balm, fancy pens, silly socks, small baking items (like a spatula), playing cards, small hand sanitizers.

You might want to poke around the dollar+ store, see what you find. I've gotten cute luggage tags, a little coin purse (probably meant for a 5yo, but I get so many compliments on it!), little notebooks, and so forth. You just never know what you'll find. I wouldn't get candy there--it's the cheap stuff. For a stocking stuffer, I'd hit Walmart and get the Lindt little package (holds ~3 candies, but they're the good stuff!)

this year it's-some beef sticks, uber cheap funkos (like less than $5), stupid old movies from the $5 bin at walmart, cheap silly t shirts. with my oldest i like the dollar store for kitchen utensils.

their little travel manicure sets are great. on the candy-they carry the identical stuff that the movie theater sells for 7-8x the price so i'll admit to getting it and having it on hand if we take in a movie.

You're right about the boxed candy--Skittles and Raisinets and so forth. I had forgotten about that. I was thinking the bags of faux-chocolate candy wrapped in foil--I would rather get real chocolate, maybe less for the same $$, then get the fake stuff. But, if you have a family member who loves Nerds or Sno-caps or something, sure--get a box from the dollar + store, and watch their face light up.

I like big things that fit in the stocking but take up a LOT of space - fewer to buy that way :santa:

DD22 is getting: Large lint roller (new cat LOL), 4 full size face mask tubes (got them as a set but I'm taking them out of the package to put in the stocking), travel toilet seat covers (long story, kinda a joke but not completely ;)), travel toiletries, homemade travel first aid kit with bandaids/moleskin/blister pads/Aleve/sinus meds/sea sickness pills for our cruise, and various candies she likes.

DD's boyfriend is getting: Large lint roller (men need them too!), quality corkscrew, small flashlight, magnetic wristband (for screws, etc), travel toiletries, Spiderman socks, an EU adapter, a few favorite candies and beef jerky.

Other things I've done in the past: fun graphic tshirts (roll them up and put a ribbon around them and they fit in a stocking great), small tools, kitchen gadgets, kitchen linens, sewing kits, any sort of toiletry item - face wash/body wash/bath bombs/lotion/etc, and razors.
