Christmas @ Disneyland

I haven't seen any official Disney notices, but from past experience, Christmas decorations, carolers and snow on main street were all part of our vacation that started on November 4th - 12th of 2001. I think that the official opening of the Christmas holiday last year was Veteran's Day weekend which began on Nov. 10th.

We're going to Disneyland on November 10th -17th this year...we're hoping for the some Christmas magic too.

Early November. My parents actually took my DS to Disneyland in October 2005 and the Haunted Mansion was already decked out for Christmas. We went to Disneyland in December and got to see the Christmas decorations for the first time. It was truly a sight to behold. I especially loved Main Street, New Orleans Square, and It's a Small World. It was also fun to see Santa at the Reindeer Roundup in Frontierland, but go right when they open or you will wait for a long time!

Christmas decorations are generally up and everything open as of Nov 11. Our family finds this is the best time of the year to be in DL. Sometimes there are crowds but you know what, because of the decorations and the atmosphere of Christmas in the air, people are in good spirits and it is just the best time in the entire year to be in DL. We have gone twice in Nov and will be going again next Nov.

Last year on Friday, November 10, which was the first day "holiday it's a small world" opened, and the first night of the "Believe...in Holiday Magic" fireworks, the park was at capacity for several hours in the afternoon (they didn't allow anyone to enter), and by 2:00 they had stopped selling single day passes. It was really crowded. It wasn't nearly so bad the next week, and I think the Christmas Parade started the following weekend. As I recall, everything except the Christmas parade was up and operating by the 11th - I think Santa's Beach Blast at DCA and Santa's Reindeer Roundup at DL opened ~November 6.
