Christmas discounts at FW and other ?'s

I know discounts are never a sure thing, but I was wondering if any FL residents went for Christmas last year and got a reduced rate? The pre-holiday season ends on the 18th $(47) and the Holiday starts on the 19th ($84).

Also does FW honor the rate of the day you check in for your entire stay, even if your stay extends to a more expensive season?

Yes, this is how Disney handles it at all resorts.

You have to be careful with seasons, while it may work in your favor if you check in on the last day of "pre-holiday" and stay for a week the opposite is also true. If you check in on hte last day of "holiday season" and stay for 10 days it can cost you. In that case you would want two reservations, one for the last day of "holiday" and one for the days in "value" season. While it can be a hassle to check out/in it will save you money.
