We are going to be at WDW for Christmas and I'm trying to decide what restaurant to do for Christmas dinner. We are waffling between doing Magic Kingdom that day or making it a non-park day. It will be myself, husband, DD19, DS16, and my parents. What restaurant would you pick?

I'm a big turkey & dressing fan, so if I were eating at The Magic Kingdom, I would choose Liberty Tree Tavern. I also like the desserts they have.
If you want a place with bigger atmosphere, there is always Be Our Guest .

I know it is not the same holiday but for Thanksgiving dinner a few years ago we did Boma. They had a nice mix of Thanksgiving food and their regular food.

Also might consider dining at one of the MK resorts, to enjoy their Christmas decorations in the lobby area. For example Wilderness Lodge, Grand Floridian, etc.

I personally would make it a non-park day unless you are staying at an EP resort and can walk to EP or DHS (you couldn't pay me to go near MK on Christmas day). We were there over Christmas in 2015 and ventured into EP for a little bit and it wasn't bad (we were staying at BWI, so could walk over). Taking Disney transportation anywhere on property that day will not be fun. Long lines, lots of traffic.

Because we were staying at BWI, I made a reservation at Trattoria al Forno for dinner and we spent the evening at the Boardwalk and had a great time. While Trattoria wasn't very "Christmasy", it was very good and not crowded.

Where are you staying? If I could pick anywhere to eat in WDW on Christmas day (and I didn't care about traffic), I would pick Artist Point at WL. It is one of our favorite signatures - the food is excellent and WL is gorgeous at Christmas time. I would also uber there!

We are doing breakfast at Boma as that is where we are staying. Then wherever we can get a candlelight processional package for dinner. Hoping for Teppan Edo but will settle for what we can get on Christmas Day.

I was also thinking Artist Point when I suggested Wilderness Lodge for the lobby decorations. :thumbsup2

Well, you have to start with what you and your family feel is needed in terms of food and fanciness for that day.

For my family, neither is necessary. It wouldn't be open, but my family on xmas day would go to Sweet Tomatoes where you can eat exactly what you want to eat for a good price. Or we would go to YardHouse near the Orlando Eye, to get our Gardein wings. But I *know* they aren't open on xmas because we tried last year. I think we ended up going to The Wave for dinner, and it was very nice.

I don't need fancy but don't want counter service either. We won't have a car so I'm looking to stay on property. I'll look at the wave's menu! I forgot about that restaurant!

I've been looking for a thread with suggestions, we're there for Xmas this year, after doing years of October lol.

We was thinking crystal palace for breakfast so we would be in the parks,
But now if it's going to be ridiculous my other choice was whispering canyon, in reality how long from Emerald Island I wonder will it take......
I dread to think
