Christmas Dessert in a Trifle Bowl? Any Ideas?

The Christmas Eve I made this, my husband of over 20 years (at that time) said to me " This is the best thing you have EVER made."

I got this recipe from my bosses' wife and it is GOOD :cool1:

Trifle

Layer 1:
2 family size boxes of Sarah Lee Pound Cake (thaw and break up)

Layer 2:
Mix:
3 cups milk
3 cups heavy whipping cream
3 small boxes of instant vanilla pudding mix

Layer 3:
Melt and mix:
2 jars of Mrs. Richardson’s hot fudge
1/2 cup Kahlua
6 Heath bars (crush) (save some for top)

Cool Whip for top layer

In glass bowl:

Layer pound cake, then layer pudding, then layer chocolate sauce, and then layer heath bars. Repeat layers two more times and then top with Cool Whip and crushed Heath bars. Recipe can be cut in half.

My Christmas trifle this year is:

brownies soaked in rasberry vodka
layering brownies, white chocolate pudding, cool whip, rasberries, and topped off with white chocolate bits.

Doesn't anyone put a little Christmas *spirit* into their trifle?

Let's just say my family and friends joke my cooking specialty is "food with booze" ;)

I make the chocolate cake trifle, we call it "junk" dessert here. I use choco cake sliced in horizontally to make 4 thin layers. I soak those layers with Kahlua. I then make chocolate pudding and heath bar pieces with whipped cream and layer all of the ingredents. I have made it without the Kahlua but its just not as good and what is a little Kahlua between friends anyways...:)

I also make a dessert my grandmother used to make, I even make it in a beautiful antique large brandy snifter with holly leaves hand painted on it that was hers. In that dessert I layer angel food cake, whipped cream, walnuts, cherry jello, lime jello, fruit cocktail and marshmallows.

Merry Christmas

ok, can I just say YUM????

and what time is dessert? ;)

My boss makes a heavenly chocolate raspberry trifle. Also one in which he uses pistachio nuts.

If you want to add some "spirit" to it, how about Grand Marnier for an orange flavor, or Kalua (sp?) for coffee flavor or a creme de mint. :goodvibes I'd use lady fingers to soak the spirits in.

This is what I do too (sometimes I substitute Amaretto for Kahlua)
