Christmas decorations still up in Jan???

We will be arriving Jan 5th at BCV's

Does anyone know if the parks and resorts will still decorated for Christmas, and will the Osborne lights still be operating.

We usually get there mid-January and they are usually JUST taking down the Osborne lights so they may still be up on the 5th.....The resorts are NOT decorated. I don't know exactly when the resort decorations come down, but somehow I get the feeling it's not long after the holiday. Hope you get lucky. I hear the decorations are beautiful!

We went one year from Jan 2nd thru 5th. On the 2nd the decorations were up. As days went on, a few more came down. It depends on luck of the draw. As we wandered between parks and resorts, some were up, some were coming down. By the 5th most were down.

The last 3-years we've done NYE there, including the week after . (Doing it again this year, Dec 30 - Jan 10)

It seems they always start taking decorations down about the first weekday after new year's. So this year that would be Thursday Jan 2nd.

Most of the park decoration are removed within a week or so.

The Osborne lights come down last My guess this year is they'll probably start coming down anywhere between the 7th and the 9th, just looking at the calendar and seeing where the weekend days are. It takes them a good week to get them all down, but they'll be turned off as soon as they start.

All are just my estimates based on past experience.

I believe this year the OSborne Lights will be up until Jan 5. I think I read that in a newsletter. Last year they were up until Jan 10 (we missed it by 1 day)

We flew down from N.J. on Jan. 1,2001 for 2 weeks (we moved to Fla. since then) and Jan.1 everything was up. From the 2nd on they started dismantling all the decorations in both the parks and resorts a little at a time.

One day everything would be up in one park and the next day they would have taken it all down in the middle of the night. They seem to do one park at a time everyday and same with the resorts.

My biggest tip though, is that if anything is still up and you want a picture of it --- take the picture right away! I saw the big ginerbread carousel in the lobby of the BC the day we arrived and figured I had all week to get a picture and it was taken down that same night! So snap away while you have the chance.

We took a day trip yesterday and everything is just beautiful so anyone who gets to go for the holidays -- Enjoy!!

The last night for the Osborne Lights is January 4th. I moved my trip up a day so I would make it down there to see them.
