DH and I are planning a resort-hopping day in November. What are the best resorts to take in Christmas Decorations? We already have Grand Floridian on the list.

I would add BC and BW to the list--To do the Epcot resorts, take a break on your Epcot day. Walk out through the International Gateway and walk to the Beach and Yacht Clubs and the Boardwalk. They each have something to see. Are your dates after Thanksgiving ( I see POP in your sig, but don't know if it's this year)? If not, don't count on all the resorts being decorated yet:( We were there Nov 15-22 and resorts were not decorated until our last night for some and not until even later for others.

The tree in Wilderness Lodge is nice.

Agree with PP about the dates...we were there Nov 13-16 (in 2013) and the Wilderness Lodge tree wasn't up until the morning we left.

It was up even later in 2014.

We usually arrive the Thursday/Friday on the week before Thanksgiving, and all the resorts are fully decorated by then! Definitely don't miss the gingerbread house at the GF, but the grand lobbies and beautiful enormous trees in WL and AKL are both gorgeous as well.

I haven't personally done this before, but I know that you can take a horse-drawn carriage ride at FW to tour the grounds, and people apparently really get into decorating their camp sites for the holidays! I think would be a wonderful part of resort-hopping to view the decorations! I believe you can call reservations and schedule a carriage ride 60 days in advance. Before Thanksgiving, it's $45; after Thanksgiving, the price jumps significantly once they convert the carriages to look like sleighs.

I was in the GF on Nov 18th last year and the gingerbread house was put together but not open and the tree was not up, I was disappointed. I loved the lower crowds but there wasn't a lot of Christmas decorations up, I was hoping for both, guess I can't have everything, lol.

Well, Pooh. It sounds like we will possibly miss all the beautiful resort decorations. Oh well. We'll still resort hop and call it research for our next trip. :thumbsup2

:thanks:

Looks like we are going to be at POR from Nov. 30-Dec. 5. It will be our pre-Christmas and 29th anniversary trip:) Working on getting the best deal possible right now! Called about bounceback when we were at BWV last week, but also checked the FD for Dec. and got a pin through email. I booked with the pin, but am in the process of changing to an agency exclusive offer to save some money. Have to change from Riverview to standard, but that's okay with me to save money!! POR is the only Mod we haven't tried yet, and I've been hoping to try it. I think I need a 12 step program for Disney. I am obsessed with planning trips and getting the best prices! Must go away from the computer!!!

:-) I get it! Congrats on the Anniversary as well! My wife doesn't have the same 'enthusiasm' I do concerning planning (been planning DAILY for our trip since 10/15 lol) but she and the girls are excited to be going back. We also haven't been to POR before but am really looking forward to it. Hoping to snag AB area so we'll see...

Just out of curiousity--what about AB do you like? I was going to request mansion.

We really liked the 'Lushness' of CBR when we were there and I feel that AB has that same tropical feel a bit more than the mansion side may have. No other reason. Rooms sizes are the same etc.

Want the Bayou more than Bourbon Street I guess. :-)
