Has anyone gone to DL on christmas day? Is it insanely crowded? I know the week around christmas is packed, but how about on christmas day? I would think most of the parents would want to be at home, open presents under the tree, kids play all day, etc....but i'm guessing i'm wrong and DL is insane???

I personally haven't been on Christmas day, but you should check here in the Christmas Superthread. There is bound to be some info there that will answer all your questions. :santa::santa::santa:

You know, I would assume the same thing - that families and most people would be home, having big meals, opening presents, visiting, etc.

However, from what I have read from just a few folks who have been to DLR on Christmas day, I think it sounds as though it may start out kind of slow in the parks for the first few hours of the day, and then it gets super-insanely crowded from afternoon on. Then begins the week between Christmas and New Year's that is notorious for being either the most crowded or the second most crowded week of the entire year, because everyone is out of work and school, and/or armed with gift cards or gift money, ready to spend!

Also, I think a lot more folks are thinking of being at DLR on Christmas Day as a nice way to spend their holiday.

I would still go to DLR on Christmas Day if given the chance, but I would definitely expect very large crowds and have a plan in place of what to do.

I went on Christmas Day once. The morning is quite quiet, but then it gets absolutely packed. One of the busiest I have ever seen the park. Best plan is to be there at opening and leave at like lunchtime.

It's very much as pinksand described above. Slow in the first part of the day. Builds slowly. B U S Y by the end of the night!

As everyone has stated it is slow in the morning and gets busier as the day progresses. Also expect park closures where they will not allow new entries into the park. I've talked to people who said they wanted just a 1 day 1 park ticket to Disneyland and were instead sold a 1 day park hopper for the same price so they were still able to enjoy Calif Adventure for a few hours before they'd be able to get into Disneyland. We normally leave the parks at about 1 pm on Christmas Day and they will have signs out front saying "Disneyland Full, Calif Adventure Open" so don't be surprised that the parks are crowded.
