Christmas Day reservation

Well we tried to book Whispering Canyon for Christmas dinner and then Captains Grille, both had no availability. Does anyone know why this might be. We tried as soon as reservations opened up today. Thanks.

To answer my own question, I rang WDW and they could make a booking over the telephone but weren't sure why it wasn't showing online. So I got my reservation
