Christmas Day In Magic Kingdom

I will never forget Christmas day at MK..., I believe it was 1996 (possibly 1997). We were there to move my mom into her new house in Orlando, she just relocated from PA. We had NO idea about the craziness! We did not know better... we arrived around 9:30am, in the MIDDLE of the Regis parade. The announcements immediately said, "Main Street USA has reached its full capacity, please proceed to Tomorrowland!"... as they hearded us all like "cattle", nicely, to Tomorrowland (through a back gate). Then we heard "Tomorrowland has reached its full capactiy, please proceed to Fantasyland!"... then we heard "Fantasyland has reached its full capacty, please proceed to Frontier Land"... which is where we could finally stay!

It was SO cold, we were in light jackets, and buying hats and gloves from the gift shops. I think it was historical lows that year. The ONLY ride I remember was the Jungle Cruise (and I was 23 years old.) The tour guide asked my mom where she was from, she answered "Orlando" He put his hand over the mic, and said to her (so everyone could hear)"didn't anyone tell you not to come to WDW on Christmas day!" It was SO funny.

We stayed until the fireworks... milked every minute and had a great time! I would do it all over again when my kids are grown so they MIGHT have as much patience as we needed. :cool1:

But oh, the things I know now thanks to the DIS!!

Ha Ha, yes, if you go to the MK on Christmas day expect craziness and the park closing it's gate by 10 am due to max capacity.

Call us Crazy...everyone I know already is. We will be in the Magic Kingdom for Christmas 2013.

We are going to be in Disney the Sunday before till the Sunday after to enjoy and go SLOW.

any tips anyone has about this idea let me know:cool1:

So excited that we will be at the Beach Club for Christmas.

As long as everything goes as planned WE WILL BE THERE AGAIN THIS YEAR! Nothing better than seeing that castle lit up on Christmas Night..oh and those Osborne Lights in Hollywood Studios...

We were there last year and I remember them saying the park is at Capacity. Of course this is the day that My daughter had chosen to take a stroll holding onto some strangers jeans after seeint Peter Pan and getting his autograph. Then she realized and let go and was wondering The Magic Kingdom by herself for about 20 minutes until someone noticed her by herself and alerted a cast member who then got her and took her for candy, gave her a pin and radiod where we were to let us know she was on her way.

Oh this year shall be different LOL...Phone numbers are going in shoes this time.

Oh the memories we made though on our 2 week trip to Orlando with 10 days being in the parks...

Our trip is reserved already and we are working on paying it down...in the midst of paying our July trip off first. We're heading out for a surprise trip to Carsland for my son.

My parents and I will be there!!! This will be our first Christmas at WDW and I only have three requirements for that week that we are ther (Dec. 20-Dec. 27) and that is see Osborne Lights at HS, CP at Epcot (which as soon as it is announced I think I am booking for Christmas Eve), and being on Main Street on Christmas Day.

I don't need to do too much during the day at the parks, I just want to be there. If we are lucky enough to catch the last MVMCP that is just an added bonus. We are staying at FW in our camper. I am sooo excited about this trip. I can't believe I convinced my parents that this was a great way to spend Christmas.

I think we'll stick with Animal Kingdom until Yuli (DGD3) is out of the stroller and knows her way around MK.

Just try to remember while you are there by choice some of the cast members are NOT and would much rather be home with there own families so BE NICE TO THEM. :thumbsup2
