Those lines add up quick when you are gone awhile!
Nan--yup, MIL has one bedroom suite. This has gotten quite interesting because Dan's stepbrother is sharing the suite w/ them. But now he has a serious girlfriend, but of course the ship was sold out so they cannot get their own room! :earboy2: But she has booked her flight, so this is kinda funny now! :rotfl:
San Jose at the Doubletree June 21-25. I'm gonna book it tonite! I met two amazing gals from the area at Provo (actually roomed w/ one--she works at Jelly Belly! Lots of jelly beans this weekend!) So I am thinking of taking my mom and making a long vaca out of it seeing San Fran, Napa...I dunno if DH can stand that, but I know he feels we need to give back to my mom for all she has done for us! That would be so cool if we could both go!!!!!!
Well, it is late, and I need to try to get to bed a bit earlier since there are only 12 days of vaca left!!!! :guilty:
Night!
Kristin

Kris:

I'll mark those dates and check into room rates too. Tell me what you find out. Sometimes scheduling this far in advance gets a good rate. So, ya think we could work on the cruise at CKU???? I should be able to play a bit of tour guide for you guys depending on when you come out, before or after CKU...school is out on June 16th, so I might be footloose and fancy free (that is if I can find a spot for the kids, but that is usually able to be done if I have notice of needing some mommy time off) I bet my sister would like to join in at CKU, I'll plan on dragging her along with me for the weekend.

Thanks for the heads up! Sometimes local events don't make it on the calendar like those that you plan a trip for.

Still in the thick of work here, too much vacation time in the early summer for me, now it's time to pay up.

I am in the cruise in my mind all the time though.....

Karen: I dropped a few of your great ideas on DH the other night and he didn't freak out :rotfl: Perhaps he is just resinged to the fact that I'm a party nut, huh????

Gotta get to work again,

Nan

We have the early seating.

I liked the early seating we had on our 2 cruises before but this time we are stuck with the late seating. I don't mind it since it will keep me up for all the late night parties in the stack! It will be a cool experience! I am definitely in the disney cruise spirit!!!:earsboy:

I saw this picture & it reminded me of the saying at the end of the posts. That men in speedos crack me up.

Jill

Just booked the SJ Doubletree--would love to have you there!
If you ask for the Creating Keepsakes (or Primedia) rate, it is $129.
That would be so cool!
Kris

at work reading the DISboards! I am trying to catch up and read through all of the posts. (I'm on page 57, BTW). Well I tried to post something and a secureity lock came up and froze me out of everything!!! Oops.

Anyway, totally off the subject, but has anyone ever watched 'One Man's Dream'? Not just the one in WDW, but the DVD that came out for his 100th. What a wonderful tribute to Mr. Disney. DH never shed one tear for the passing of my father or my brother, but the tears rolled down his face when they spoke of Walt's passing. I highly recommend it.

Correction - somewhere around post 502, it was stated we are from the Newark area. We actually live right next to Flemington. VERY different! We are just flying out of Newark. Just thought I would set the record straight.

Kris: I'm a cheap skate I found a rate of 71.20 I think it was thru AAA....I've asked my sister if she wants to come and she is thinking of it. When will they publish the class dates? Should we sign up "together" to be together? I haven't done a CKU before, but I figure you'd be the right person to enjoy it with since you're a pro :goodvibes scrapper. Do you have assigned seating for the whole weekend? maybe we should have an offline chat about this as to not bore the rest of this group with these details huh :rotfl2: oh never mind, you guys have nothing better to do right? :rotfl: I crack myself up.

We went to the SJ Giants game tonight. They played against the Bakersfield Blaze...not sure who won we left at the top of the 8th, Giants down by 4, 4-8. Minor league is fun, free and fun. We got tickets from the local hardware store.

Off to bed tonight....Oh ya Jill, great billboard, made me think of Aisling too....does that mean something???? :rotfl2:

Nan

Karen: Busted!!!! Hope the penalty wasn't too harsh. We're worth it I'm sure...... I had that same strange thing trying to get me to enter my login and password today, I figured it was bogus so I just kept clicking it closed and then got sick of it so I logged off and then opened the page again and voila it was ok.

really gotta go to bed now,

Nite nite,

Nan

Got that whole iPod thing worked out--even Dan is thinking it is pretty cool. Think he has traded in for his portable CD player while he walks on the treadmill.
Aisling--are you on vaca too? You're not very chatty these days!
Seems Karen has jumped right in! You go girl! :cool1:
Nan--WOW! I might have to join AAA just to get that rate! It would cover the cost! Can you book me one at that rate, too? I'll make it worth your while!! :earboy2: June 21-26. There is a pre-crop Weds. eve, classes morning to night Thurs-Fri. Sign up is online usually about 3 months prior, though they will list classes a few weeks prior to that so we can chit chat when that arrives. It is important to be online as soon as registration opens. CKU-A Stanford sold out in like an hour! I have never been shut out when online right away. Do let me know about the room--heard there were only 15 rooms left!!!!!!
Well....actually trying to finish all the stuff from last week! Nan, I literally finished 12 albums!!! Now swaps did help, and no pics yet, but WOW! These are all kinds of albums and sizes, but it is so cool to feel so accomplished!
Bye! :wave2:
Kris
PS Tori, I'm gonna try to get my niece online--you two could get to know each other before the cruise! She is a bit shy--YOU certainly don't sound shy!

I am definitely NOT shy....hehe I am very friendly and easy to get to know!I hope I get to know her and hopefully meet her!

We were almost on the second page! :earseek:
There will be NONE of that!
OBVIOUSLY Tig is on vaca!!! :earboy2:
Tori--I'll email my FIL and try to get my niece to get online to chat...no promises!
Gotta go finish cleaning the house!! (BLECHHHH!)
Kris

Just finished reading all of the posts. I feel I know most of you so here's my deal. (This is going to be long you may need a glass of water or lemonade!)

My family is me (Karen 46), DH (Dominick (or Dom) 46), DD (Kayla 17)

I am a data manger (statistics) in a Central Jersey Medical Center (Angel of Death story anyone? - yup, that's where I work). Love my job. Very into theater. Am a charter member of the Disney's Collector Society. Tinkerbell and Sorcerer Mickey are my favorite characters. Love to cook. Have been battling weight issues all my life and have lost the battle. After seeing all of your pictures, my social anxiety flared up. I have 2X's in front of my size. But hey I am what I am!! Had my gall bladder removed this year. Am being treated for a bone spur in my left heel. Will be 47 when we cruise. I am 1/2 Polish and 1/2 all British Isles (Scottish, Welch, Irish, English). I have red hair (only one in my family, hmmm), so I say I am Polish and Irish.

Dominick is an independent sheet metal worker. Also into theater. Loves Sci Fi, All Star Trek incarnations, Star Wars all the way. Great man, great father, still a kid! Loves roller coasters. Sits at the computer most of the time. Lurking, learning, and having fun. Will be 47 when we cruise. Mostly Italian with a hit of Jewish!

Kayla is a good kid. Loves Star Trek, Star Wars, Harry Potter (we have all read the books), theater, rides horses, singing and writing. Her favorite character is Sleeping Beauty. If we see her on the cruise Kayla will burst into tears!!!! She went to Europe this summer with American Music Abroad with the help of my extended family. Had a solo in one of the songs. (Can't wait for the recording). Is in no hurry to drive so doesn't have her permit yet. Can't get her to post here, she's too shy.

Dom and I met at a performance of our commuity theater group. It was love at first sight for both of us, but we didn't date until 6 years later! We are best friends.

Kayla was born exactly 1 year and 1 month after we married. My water broke at 6 am on June 1st. I never went into labor and never dialated (Sorry Grim). 12 hours of induced labor and still I never dialated. 6:36 am on June 2, by C-section and with me under general anesthesia (I couldn't have been happier), she was born. I am not women, do not hear me roar. I was petrified of natural delivery. Named after a character on Days of Our Lives - plus it's Irish. Breastfed her for 3 months. (Again, sorry Grim)

Pets: My cat of 15 years, Tinker Belle, died on my 46th birthday. She went peacefully and purred to the end. Our hamster of 3 years died in March, during tech week of my daughters HS musical. Not a good year for pets for us. Am holding off for a while before we get attached again. Do love pets though.

We are going on this trip as a present from my mom (79) for selling her house. (Dom and I of course pushed mom towards a Disney Cruise!) We are sailing with my sister and her family and my SIL and her family. My mom sold her house and moved into a 1 floor-2 bedroom apartment. This also happened the weekend of my 46th birthday. It was a very traumatic weekend for me. I grew up in that house, my dad died in that house, my whole life was in that house. Mom walked away with no problems. I couldn't let go. But she is happy and comfortable and that's what is important. She lives near us so that's good. She's Disney when she's with us!! Wants to get a lime green shirt. I told her NO, you aren't THAT Disney!

My sister (54), BIL (57), their daughter (15) and their son (13) live in NY near Middletown. My SIL (47), her daughter (21), and her sons (18 and 14) live nearby. My SIL and I work at the same place. My brother died suddenly 4 years ago, he was 48. None of them are Disney - which I worry about on this cruise.

Christmas time is tough for my family. My brother died on December 9th and my father died 10 years ago on January 3rd - 2 days after my parents 45th wedding anniversary. So this will be a nice trip for all of us. (Sorry to bring you all down.)

Did I leave any details out? Not sure about excursions. 10 of us need passports! Planning Palo on night 3 for the 8 of us who are old enough. In the process of organizing everyone's excursions. I told everyone, I didn't care what they were doing, just as long as we all had dinner together!

DH, DD, DM and I have cruised on the Wonder, but 3 days was SO not long enough. We never even saw 1/2 the ship! Plan to relax and spend some time on the ship. Only planning to get off on St. Thomas and CC. DM wants to buy some booze - loves her gin. She and I are planning a little PP on the St. Maarten day - massages, facials, whatever!

Ok, I'll let some one else talk, er, write now!

Karen: I liked ya before you told us who you were and now I like ya even more :goodvibes

This is a great site to lay it all out there and see if we gel and it looks like quite a few of us do. Like I've said before hope we gel on this ship too. :confused3 :)

So, here's my funny Dis freak story for the week. Last month, oh my gosh (that's sounds too long ago) I think I mentioned that I accosted a man in the stroller line at Dland and tried to buy the shirt off his back??? Sounds like me huh? :rotfl2: okay, so he wouldn't sell it to me right then, but took my email and sure enough, he emailed me and he lives in San Jose and to make a long story longer....We met this morning at the mall (in front of the Disney store) to see if it would fit and low and behold...Paul now has the matching shirt to another family ensemble (sp?) (matching outfits) Here's the kicker....just a week or so before my birthday Paul crabbed about too much Disney clothes for himself. He said "no more Disney for me" I said nothing, but had the luck of finding outfits on ebay for me, Molly, Wilson (& a babydress for Molly's doll) which we wore for my birthday dinner...Paul wore a tacky Hawaiian shirt that clashed badly. He immediately understood that he blew it and said ok, you can get me the matching shirt next time....ha ha I got it this time...okay final bullet...I paid $100 for this shirt. Not to worry it will get alot of wear, you'll all laugh now when you see us in yet another matching Disney outfit on the ship. btw, we also looked in the Disney store today and Paul got *himself* a hat...Grumpy of course :rotfl2: He will have fun on this cruise in spite of his crazy wife  good thing he loves me

We went to the Beach Boardwalk again last night, and saw Mickey Dolezs from the Monkeys. He was great. Very 60's, what a great time to be born huh? Molly finished horse camp this week. She had fun, no falling off (good thing) since 2 others fell of their horses. We are talking about lessons after school one day a week....Hmmm....do I really want to smell horse poo in my car for a day or so every week?? I guess there are worse things right?

I'm lounging at home today, watching a movie, Paul is at the bike store getting a new pair of shoes (see that excursion idea got him moving) ..kids in the other room playing on the computer.

Okay I'm headed into my zone...I'll lurk ya later,

Nan

Thanks, Nan.

I realize my post was not flashy and I didn't have any one :Pinkbounc or :bounce: . I should have done a :cool1: or  or even :dancer: because I feel like I am on :cloud9: with all of you!

I cannot wait to have a :drinking1 with all of you when we are :boat: .

Here is a picture of my DD with her horse before prom.

kayla.jpg
Can you believe my DD found a Hidden Mickey in Hungary? This was taken at a Putza Cowboy ranch. They are stumps that had been driven into the ground to make a pathway.

hidden_mickey.jpg
Well, it's hot at the blazes here :sunny: and we have no central air ... we are off to the playhouse today to work on the set and have rehearsal for our upcoming musical :music: . At least there is AC there!!

TTFN! :wave2:

Bad news here..
cousin of Dan's getting divorce...we were all blown away...love them both.
Dan's Dad just diagnosed w/ bone cancer...doesn't look good :guilty:

On a good note...something that affects all of you!
WE DO NOT NEED PASSPORTS! The Detroit free press had an article that the proposed timeline has been dropped and they are just sticking w/ the original date from the law, Jan. 1, 2008. Went to the gov't site, and the rolling timline is no longer on the site! WOO HOO! Especially since the van needed new brakes!!! YIPPEE! :earboy2: :Pinkbounc :cool1: :goodvibes :rotfl:
Gotta run to the store!
Kris

Karen:: I'm such a dork....I saw the picture of DD & Horse and read DD "with" prom date....okay, I'm really stupid!!!! Of course perhaps if I showed it to my DD she would want to have a horse as a prom date....The dress your daughter (beautiful girl btw) wore was the same color as my senior prom dress & close to same style....okay, I'm going to dig out my senior prom picture just to make you all have a real giggle this week, I'll scan it for you...of course you can't really see if here until Tigg comes back to post it for me...

(See Tigg I lasted the whole time without you, of course I needed you but hey, I survived)

Kris:So sorry to hear you sad family news. Divorce is crappy. In our family we had a bad year 2000, each of my three sisters divorced that year, on a lighter note DH and I had a baby....I do believe it was wise of me to wait to marry...All my sisters married at 19 (yikees!) I waited until I was ummmmhhhh pushing 30...okay 31....alright you all know how old I am I was an old maid at 32 when I got married...but I figure it is for keeps with us, so I'm glad I had my life before and now I'm sticking with DH for better or worse. I'm one who believes that each persons marriage is their own, and we can't begin to know or understand why they work or not... I'm sad for the fact that everyone involved family and friends feels the pain of divorce. Good luck and I'll keep them in my prayers. As for your FIL, soooooo sad. More prayers for you and Dan to deal with this situtation and for your kids too and of course for your FIL.

Hmmmm piles of laundry staring at me, (me not looking at it) tv......ebay....scrapping.....ah a day of nothing planned LOVE IT!!!!

Off to do nothing,

Nan

Domiii That's so cool that your daughter has a horse! I want one really bad...but my parents say no. Oh well

YAY!!! Thanks for posting this Kris!

I had just filled out the application for mine and was getting ready to bite the bullet.

Gotta type fast. For days, my comp has been booting me off every few minutes, which is freaking frustrating when I just typed a long reply and then lose it before I can post!

Jill, you're back! How did skating and WDW go???

Karen, I so enjoyed reading about you and your family. I love it that you perform together as a family. And your DD is a doll! Please don't sweat the 2x. I'm battling my weight, and losing the battle, but my Dis friends make me feel so comfortable, weight's not an issue for me now. If I lose, I lose, if I don't, I don't. But I doubt I'll be able to wear that pretty red dress I posted a picture of way back. But I will indeed be wearing a sexy red, even if it's a bigger size!

I've missed you all so much, Nan, Kris, Grim, Jill, Karen, Tiggie who's boogie boarding right now. I can't wait to meet you all. I'm going to post this now beofre it s too late!
