HI Kristin
You are right. Lincoln has changed quite a bit over the years. There are quite a few good malls & ample restaurants. They have also been improving the main drag ever so much. & your downtown is very historical.
I am a skater. The last few years we have had our Nationals in Lincoln. I'm sure you've seen the Museum in town. Your city is quite big & there are many things to do. I've enjoyed staying in the Motel across the street from Barnes & Noble around 54th st. Street wise the most unusual thing I've seen is - at a intersection. One way is a stop sign & the other a traffic light. And of course having some one ask if you want a sack at a convenience store.
Two years ago I trailered my Motorcycle there. Riding around town is cool. But, I must admit I've never seen straighter roads (& lots of hills). And, soooo much corn. Each way out of town I drove approx 25 miles & then turned back. Now the PX in Omaha ( on base) is nice. I bought a beautiful bedspread with a wolf on it.
Every day I went for walks at least 4-6 miles each time. People seem friendly & they really support their teams.
This year Nationals will be in Pensacola Fl. However, they will be in Lincoln again next year.
Tig & I are from NJ. We live between Trenton & Phila.
Looking forward to meeting you.
Jill
