Italy is our country this year so I had planned on having Panetonne french toast ( ok I know... but it sounded good!)

Now my husband and mum have ganged up on me and requested I make the Stollen wreath that I used to make years ago. So it looks like we will have that as well.

As long as I can make stuff ahead I am ok with it.

What are you making this year?

Cinnamon rolls, mocha eggnog, Breakfast pie and fresh fruit.

Christmas Breakfast is the one holiday meal that I"m responsible for. Mom and Dad come, sometimes an uncle or two, and sometimes a GF or BF or two...

We will have the same thing we have every year, not because I want to, but because tradition (according to my Dad) must be kept:rotfl: aka Dad doesn't like anything else!

Mimosas, tomato juice, cinammon buns, homefries (no peppers please, uugg), bacon, sausage, fruit salad, and can you say booorrriiinnnggg scrambled eggs:rotfl2:

Now, if I had my way I'd be serving lobster and asparagus quiche (maybe a ham and cheese one too), bloody marys/mimosas, slices of melon, european bacon (the really wide/thick slices, yum!) and danish. But no one really cares what I want:sad2: Can't complain though cuz I get Christmas Eve at sisters, Christmas Dinner at brothers, Easter out, Thanksgiving at Moms/Sisters, Fourth of July at Moms... you get the picture, I only have to do Christmas morning and I really have fun doing it:santa:

You should try this breakfast pie I'm doing! It's everything you serve, but made the night before and put in the oven. Want the recipe?

My grandma always makes her homemade buttermilk biscuits and we eat ham with them.
<3 yumyum.

Breakfast Pie
Package of bacon (you could use sausage too)
1 Cup crushed corn flakes
6 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup cottage cheese
1 1/2 cup shredded chedda cheese
1 green onion, sliced (optional)
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Package cubed hash browns

(1) In a large skillet cook bacon (or sausage) until done. Remove to paper towels. Reserve drippings, stir into corn flakes, set aside.

(2) In a large bowl combine the eggs, milk, cottage cheese, cheddar cheese, onion, salt and pepper until blended. Stir in has browns. Pour into a greased 9" pie plate. Sprinkle with bacon and cornflakes. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

(3) Remove from frigerator 30 minutes before baking. Bake, uncovered at 325 degrees for 45 to 50 minutes or until a knife inserted near the center comes out clean. Let stand for 5-1 minutes before cutting.

Thank you so much. I know I HAVE to make scrambled eggs but I just might make this pie as well for those of us with grown-up tastebuds;)

ah, tell them you threw the scrambled eggs in the pie !:thumbsup2

Nada. Zip. Zilch. Nothing.

We have Christmas Day lunch at 11:00, I'm busy prepping in the morning for that. If anyone wants breakfast they make themselves cereal or toast. I nibble on whatever I'm making for lunch. :)

Schwann's Potato, Sausage and Egg kit. Those things are so easy and yummy.

English Muffin sandwich type things (think McMuffin). With canadian bacon, eggs and cheese. We'll probably have some hashbrown with peppers and onions as well.

I was gonna just do donuts, but decided on something more substantial.

Pillsbury cinnamon rolls. My DH's family always had them at Christmas, so we have them now. My family tradition is banana splits on Christmas eve, so we adopted that tradition from my side. :)

wouldn't be Christmas morning without it..make ahead the night before, pop in the oven..with fresh orange juice and hot cocoa..mmmm

Cinnamon rolls, mocha eggnog, Breakfast pie and fresh fruit.

Mmmmm, sounds yummy!
What do you put in your breakfast pie?

Whoops found the breakfast pie recipe, sounds like a winner!
Thanks for sharing!

Every year it's always Grand Cinnamon buns and hot cocoa. I wanted to make homemade cinnamon sugar doughnuts but my mom didn't want to have heavy greasy donuts for breakfast. ;( It ended up being a dessert for myself later that night, LOL.

Christmas dinner is not until 5 pm, so breakfast is: mimosas (for the adults) or OJ, Eggs Benedict, monkey bread or sweet rolls, and coffee. Every year for the past 25 years the same!
