Today found us entering Epcot around 10 am via the international gateway entrance. Florida is supposed to be warm, but today it was not meant to be! It was definitely cool outside, so before leaving the hotel, I bundled the kids up and brought along extra sweatshirts. We were going to see the CP tonight and I was trying to think ahead!
My DD, the ready for any kind of ride type of kid wanted to go on TT, so we headed over there. FP wait times were for so much later in the day, that it was not in the cards. The single rider line said a 30 minute wait, so we decided to get in line. Not even 10 minutes into the wait, we heard the dreaded voice saying the ride was down and that the wait times would be increased considerably. What to do? We had PS for the PSB at Norway at 11:20am, (it was a surprise for her) and I was really afraid of not making it, so we got off line. She was none too happy, but I told her we could do it later on at some point, which was fine with her. We walked through Ice Station Cool so the kids could get there favorite soda. No, not Beverly but the one from Israel. We then headed over to Norway.
We checked in and were seated within minutes. DD had no idea that it was the PSB, so it was a big surprise when I told her. Test Track soon became a distant memory. I remember doing this meal about 2 years ago and really not caring for it. Seems like the food is a bit better, but definitley was lacking in character interaction. We felt really rushed in this area, and I would not do this meal again. I understand if the place was packed, but it was not. There were a lot of empty tables from families who had finished and were gone but whatever. Been there, done that. Characters that were there were Sleeping Beauty, Snow White, Mulan, Mary Poppins and Belle.
The kids had gotten passports the night before instead of doing the Kidcot masks, so we were on a quest to get the passports stamped. We managed to get a few stamps, while also doing the Imagination pavilion and the Univ. of Energy.
We skipped lunch and snacked throughout the day and before we knew it, it was time for our PS at Alfredo's. I had booked the CP package because I knew I wanted to have a seat for the show and after reading others say how crowded it was, figured it was the best choice. Alfredo's again did not disappoint!! We eat here once every trip since it is DH favorite, and it was good tonight.
When we left the restaurant it was so cold!! I gave everyone their extra sweatshirts and gloves and we all bundled up. We met up with my sister and her family to get in line for the show. But first I needed to get the cinnamon almonds they sell in front of the American Adventure. I had been smelling them for 3 days now and I was determined to get them tonight. I got them and they were quite good!
We saw the show with Edward James Olmos and he was great!! In fact, the show was wonderful! I had never seen it before and I am so glad we did. The music, the singing...just fanatastic!!
We walked back to the BW and my DS was so cold!! He usually does not say anything, but tonight he let us know how cold he was. We watched Illuminations from the room, where we all got warm.
Hopefully tomorrow it will be warmer as we are going to MGM.
