Christmas at SSR-what's it like??

I'm interested in what it's like at SSR during Christmas week, especially Christmas Eve and Day...

Do they do any special activities?

Is there a Santa meet?

Are there Character meets?

I read on AllEarsNet that the Turf Club has a holiday menu, what does that consist of?

Does Artist's Palette offer anything special on Christmas Eve or Day?

And there's nothing listed for SSR. The things listed for some of the other resorts sound great!

If anyone spent Christmas in SSR I'd LOVE to hear anything you have to say about it. Thanks!

We stayed at SSR last Christmas (07). It was GREAT, they had a movie by the pool on Christmas Eve (Santa Claus Two) (maybe it was one). There was a Santa near the TV in the main check in area. I think there were characters during the week, each night something was planned. There was a high school singing Christmas Carols. As for the meal I am not sure but we did eat Christmas Eve dinner there, which I suggest making a reservation as it was packed.

Wow....I can not believe hardly any responses!

We have gone to SSR the past three years arriving Dec 27th and leaving in Jan 2-4. This year will be our fourth year. Now we are not there Christmas week, but I do know some of the activities prior to our arrival.

There will be a Santa in the Lobby, there will be some characters. There will be the DVC members meet-n-great at Epcot, with a bunch of characters. Turf Club had a special menu, but do not recall. AP does not do anything.

The resort will be decorated. As Christmas approaches, it will become more and more crowded. By Christmas Day it is busy at WDW.

All of the special resort dining will book up. Do not think that anything will be available that week. I wish I had more info, but I don't. I can tell you more about NYE if you are staying that long.
