Friends -
We are planning our 2nd Disney Trip at Christmas. For our first one, our DD was only 7 years old. We had a fabulous time. We were there from 12/26 - 1/2.

This time we will be arriving BEFORE Christmas. Our DD is now 10 years old. We are looking for somewhere MEMORABLE (however, all of Disney is memorable) for Christmas Eve Dinner and then Dinner on Christmas Day.

I would love RECOMMENDATION !

thanks,
Eva, Donnie & our 10 year old

We had lunch on Christmas Day last year at Trail's End in Fort Wilderness. Not the most upscale place, but they were offering their regular buffet selections (always delicious) along with a special Christmas buffet which included turkey, dressing, gravy, potatoes, etc. It was fabulous and FW is always very relaxing. :teeth:

Biergarten for Christmas is also extra special. It's decorated beautifully and the band onstage plays Christmas songs and offers special programs for children-- they give away little chocolate gold coins as treats to kids, too.

The only problem with buffets on Christmas Eve /Christmas Day is that they are super crowded, which can be annoying and frustrating.

Our other favorite for Christmas-- not a buffet-- is Rose and Crown.

On xmas eve we have dinner and then wonder thru the Osbourne lights. Last year we went to the Brown Derby and then wandered thru the lights. We have also done the CP dinner package xmas eve as well and that was great. The CP show really puts you in the xmas spirit.

The candlelight processional is truly wonderful. I am not even religious but this even really puts you in the Christmas spirit. The Special guest Narrators they invite are great. So far my DF and I have seen it with Jim Caveziel, Edward James Olmos, Eartha Kitt, and Gary Sinise. Jim Caveziel really gets into it!

I found this: christmas in orlando. (as one whole word). It has a ton of great ideas and events taking place in orlando during christmas time. you should check it out!! it helped me out, i have already planned my vacation. :woohoo: :woohoo:

The gingerbread house at GF is really neat. We'll be celebrating our 2nd Christmas at WDW with our DS7 this year and are making it a point to spend Christmas Eve at Chef Mickey's and Christmas Day at 1900 Park Fare. We generally stay at ASMo or other value resorts, but when we went for Christmas two years ago we stayed at CSR. Santa, Mickey, Donald, and Daisy were in the lobby. I'm hoping something as cute happens at both hotels this year.

Whatever you pick, you should book it now as alot of more popluar restaurants are booked solid already i.e Cinderella's Royal Table, LeCellier...

I would try CRT or LC, but also try to get ARtisit's point, Concourse steakhouse is doing a Christmas Dinner (special holiday menu), or Brown Derby is nice too.

Maybe a country in Epcot or Yacnsman steakhouse.

Good luck!

I'm pretty sure a lot of the more popular restaurants are already booked. We are going to LTT, and that has been booked solid since back in July- we got one of the last spots. Check out the menus and see what you like. I know for us, having more traditional Christmas food on Christmas was important. Therefore, we didn't want to do a buffet or anything to odd. Just look at the menus and see what interests you. The Candlelight Processional would be a great thing to do on Christmas Eve. The dinner packages are probably all sold out now, but you can definitely wait in line to see it.

Last year we got a Candlelight Processional package for Rose & Crown on Christmas Eve and went to Celebration on Christmas and ate at Columbia. Both meals were great.

This year we will be leaving on Christmas Eve day.....sigh...... :guilty:
