Christmas and Newport Bay

Hello everyone!

We are desprately in need of a disney fix and as it's a *special* b'day for DH in Decemeber I thought we'd go over the Christmas period.

My question is, is the Newport Bay as bad as the reviews make out in Tripadvisor?? I've read some reviews on here and I know that the Sequioa Lodge is raved about at Xmas time but in all honesty my bidget just won't stretch that far.

I have been quoted just over £1000 for NB arriving on 24th Dec for 3 nights, 2 adults 2 childrens + 1 infant. This is for an admiral floor room (no standard rooms apparently)
Does this price sound 'right' for xmas?

I did look at the DCR but DH doesn't like the idea of having to drive.....

Any Christmas booking advice would be gratefully received!

The Sequoia Lodge is usually cheaper than the Newport Bay Club - have you looked at both online?

Yep, and i've phoned. SL is coming out at £1194 for a room in the main building. A Montana room was £1300. I guess there's no chance these rates will go down?

Sounds about right for 3 nights over peak season, I think the travel is going to cost a fair but too as its a weekend & holidays when your travelling. I have just checked online the reason the Newport bay is cheaper then the SL as its got 25% where as the SL has nothing.

A good question about the New Port Bay Club at Christmas, because I´m having the same problem.

Is it worth it at Christmas ? Even Admirals floor ?

What are you opinions about the New Port ?

Bad ? OK ? Go for it ?

At the moment, the Admirals Floor would be only 45 € more than SQL for me.

If you can go one day earlier, the cost will come down a fair bit, the 23rd and 24th are two different pricing periods.
