Hello to all you wonderful people! I have been reading these boards (my sister-in-law referred me) and WOW! have I learned a lot. My family and I are going to the Yacht Club Dec. 15 - 17 and then onto a Disney cruise on board the Magic through the 24th!! We are thinking about Universal from Dec. 28 through the 31st. If we stayed onsite, would the crowds still be overwhelming for our family of 4 (DS-8, DD-11)? Any thoughts or suggestions would be so appreciated. Thanks!!!

It's crowded at all the theme parks over Christmas holidays but with Front of the Line from staying onsite, you won't notice the crowds.

You will have a great time at Universal during the Christmas holidays. They have the Macy's Day parade and Grinchmas for the kids. Both parks are decorated but Suess landing is simply amazing with its Christmas decorations. There are all sorts of Suess characters from Whoville wandering around and of course the Grinch. It is tons of fun.

Yes, the parks will be crowded but you will have front of the line for all shows and attractions. Disney is crowded at that time too and no front of the line for onsite guests there. I love Universal at Christmas!

Staying on site will allow you so much more - the hotels are beautiful with holiday touches & Express access will let you do your favorite rides/attractions more than once, even with the heavy holiday crowds - Enjoy, you are going to have an amazing time :flower:

We spent this past new year's eve at Universal before heading over to Disney. We didn't notice any crowds at all with the front of the line access for staying onsite. We had a great time and are going back this year in the middle of December.

A big thank you to all who replied. I will be reserving our room tomorrow! Now to decide which hotel! I really appreciate the prompt responses. I'll be sure to post trip reports.

I have a question along these lines.. I know in the summer they limited the onsite express pass for parts of the day... does anyone know it they might do this over the Christmas Holidays?

Thanks!

They've never done it before at Christmas but there is never any guarantee.
