DH and I have decide to make it a tradition to spend every thanksgiving and the following week at WDW, at the YC concierge.
this year we will be at the YC from Nov 23 - Dec 7th :)

However, due to job related circumstances, we are thinking of next year spending Christmas and New Years at WDW instead. (never mind the fact that we alwasy spend thanksgiving alone and christmas together with our families.... we'll hear it for going to WDW for christmas! :)

my dilemma is that the YC cocnierge is our favorite, especially for thanksgivng, but for christmas... I am thinking to wake up at the GF main building RPC and sleepily walk to the lounge and look down at the magical amazing GF lobby! omg, what a christmas treat that would be!
those of you who have seen the gf deorated for christmas know what I mean!

however we do love the YC and staying at the epcot resorts is great for us! we love the BW, the convenience to Epcot and MGM, it just suites our WDW style better.... hmmmmm

so... what should we do????

stay at the YC conceirge
stay at GF RPC

split - Christmas week at the GF and New Years week at the YC?

I prefer not to split... but.... just dont know!

help! thanks for any input!!!!! :)

Laura :) :) :)

I would say ... SPLIT! The GF will be nicer for Christmas with all the decorations and it's proximitiy to the MK. The YC will be better for NYE since EPCOT rocks for NYE. You'll be able to walk there in the morning, come back to the YC and rest, and then go at it again in the evening for dinner and the foreworks. Then, all you have to do is walk home :).

We're splitting too :). We're doing 5 days at the Polynesian over Christamas (12/24-12/29) and then 5 days at the Beach Club Villas for NYE (12/29-1/4). We'll be neighbors ;).

Well, Laura, for Christmas, I have to go with the Grand Floridian!

Also, it would be cheaper to do the entire stay at the GF RPC (as opposed to splitting the stay) as holiday season rates would raise the price considerably for the YC Concierge on the New Year's part of the trip. :)

Two weeks at the Grand Floridian RPC, now that would be heaven on earth! Be sure to let them know you are repeat guests! ;)

hmmmm... i didnt think of the extra cost of splitting! good thinking Cali! now my decision is even harder!
cali! I knew what your answer would be! :) and believe me, I agree with you! but.... I dont think we would be happy at a MK resort for 2 weeks, we are so used to our fun ways at the epcot resorts! MK side seems a little boring to us, and I dont like having to trek back to the GF after a night at Epcot and the BW!
but... the GF at christmas...

oh my, what a decision!!! :)

Laura :)

no way!!!!! not even a remote possibility! you know how I feel about driving at WDW, never happen! :) to me it is a hassle!

Laura :)

well, hopefully we will be at the YC this new years!!!!!!!! :)
I love spur of the moment ideas!!! :)

so, maybe next year we will do christmas at the GF RPC, and New years at the YC concierge!
sounds perfect. gotta see what DH says!

at first I couldnt pry him away from the GF, now I cant pry him away from the Epcot resorts!!! :)

We have spent New Years Eve at Epcot and MGM in prior years, and I would love the chance to return to Epcot for New Years, so my choice would be YC/BC. However, I would split the stay and do one week at GF so you could spend a few days in the MK. The crowds are very heavy and ,as you know the MK is always the heaviest, so being on the monrail would give you the convienience of entering and leaving the MK often during the week.

By the way, it can get a little chilly down here during that time of year and the shows at the Animal Kingdom don't run if it is too cold....so....if you are here during a cold spell, and a warm days comes up, that might be the time for you to hit the AK.

Laura :)

After my last trip, I don't think I'd subject myself to NOT having a car again! It's too much of a hassle NOT to have one! ;)

Laura, why don't you guys use some of your dvc points and get a nice one bedroom villa at BCV or BWV??? Then split that with the GF RPC. :) Or split YC LVC and GF RPC, that's a good idea too. :)

Whichever you decide I vote for a split stay! :)
