Christmas all year long!

First, I have to confess something. I vowed that I would not go back and look at airfare prices for that return flight now that it was booked. I figure it is set and I can't change it so why should I worry about it now. I did book through orbitz because of the "price assurance". I have never done that, but in theory if the flight does end up going down... my thought is I would still get that lower rate (in the way of getting a refund) Anyway, I was bad and I ran bing again today. WELL.. that flight that I got onto with the guys... it went up by $129 pp. I did good by jumping on it. Now I just have to not think about it any more.

Next, I had to cancel the Garden View Tea Room ADR since we will for sure be flying out before that ADR. There was nothing available for earlier that day. I went ahead and looked on the 10th and booked an ADR for that day. Problem? Well, Zoe and I have flights that arrive after the ADR is set for.

So I have a few options.
1. Cancel the new ADR and just try and squeeze it in some other time during the trip...and keep the current flight. (the guys would arrive the day before)
2. Switch the current flight to day before and arrive after DME would take the bags (but the guys would be there to help get them to DME)
3. Switch the current flight to a more expensive flight the day before and add aprrox. $160 to the total airfare costs. (DME would take the bags and we would get in shortly before the guys)
4. Wait it out to see if option number 3 comes down in price
5. Switch to flying in on the 8th and add one more night at Pop and thus approx. $115 to the total package cost. (The guys would arrive the next day but DME would get all our bags)

My preference? Being optimistic it would be option number 4... and then being realistic/prudent it would be #1. Frivolous would be #5. That leaves option 2 and 3 being my least favorite. #3 is just too expensive... and # 2 is a little less convenient.

So for now, I think I am waiting... hoping that I can book on the 9th to arrive in time for DME to get our bags... but not incurring an extra expense.

Game guess:

Petting a brown calf at Rafiki's Planet Watch's petting zoo at Animal Kingdom. Close to noon. Rode the little train to get there.

(Trying to give as many details as possible so I can get more points :) )

All of your options sound great, but I think you're smart to wait.

Of course, I'd pick Option 4 if it means an extra night. And you could tell yourself you're saving money, since you would have spent $160 to fly in the next day during DME hours, so now you've added an extra night and saved $46!! :)

But then you have to eat (food) an extra day, so that will add to the budget.

But then you'd be eating if you were at home, right?

And on and on and on....

I'm a great rationalizer!

:rotfl: I was wondering if the photo was time stamped so you knew the time, but then I saw how you figured it out. Very detailed!

:rotfl2::rotfl2:

You have me rolling at your answer. You did want the extra points ;)

First to answer... you get
1pt for knowing the park
1pt for knowing that it was at the petting zoo at RPW
1pt for the added detail regarding how we go there. ;)
1pt for knowing the time. (I had not even thought of that)

P.S. and that's Kira, not Zoe this time :)

:rotfl: Ok...so I guess I will give a point for this too. I was thinking I needed to remove that point... but if I am handing out points for details..well, the subject is a detail. This gives you a total of 5 points for this photo. I also owe some points for the last couple pics.

This is totally how I am thinking! :confused3 I think...well, if I am going to spend extra I might as well spend extra on the night not the flight. But then.. there is food... but I have to eat at home anyway. (like I just went to the store and spent how much?)

For right now though... I wait.

:rotfl: I was wondering if the photo was time stamped so you knew the time, but then I saw how you figured it out. Very detailed!

Is it the shadow? The cow is casting a high noon shadow? Took me a moment too.

That's Animal Kingdom, Rafiki's Planet Watch Affection Section, where Kira is petting the cow that Haylee was so sad to miss when we went.

Well.. most of what you mention has been said already... except that Kira is petting a cow not a calf (sorry Susan) so a point for you. :goodvibes Also I will give you a point for knowing the exact name of the petting zoo. So two points total. :goodvibes

BTW, I am sorry to hear that Haylee was sad to miss it. We missed it last trip too. September was too hot for that. All the dust was horrid.

Ok... so this is a bit confusing now. Originally I was looking for 3 things. Park, Subject and location within the park. Then there seemed to always be the same subject. Then there was the added details people were giving... so I dropped the 3 point game system. Now it seems like a point for each detail seems to work. Some pics may have more details that can be given than others. I will have a couple rules. 1. No matter what time in the day I get around to posting the pic (I know..not fair but...) points will be tallied for the day's pic at midnight (my time) 2. First person with the detail claims the point.

So since I didn't give Karin a point for subject a couple days ago... I owe her one point.

I know this is changing things up a bit... hope it works.

Thanks everyone for being flexible. :goodvibes

Do I get a point now if I add that it was Zoe and Kira on the ferry to the MK? ;)

Ok... I will let you have that. :goodvibes but from here on out.. no points are given for past day pictures. So today's pic is still up there if anyone can possibly give any more detail to the photo. That pic will be done in just a few more hours though. :goodvibes

Ann, seriously, I was only teasing. :)

You're cracking me up. You know you don't have to change the rules to keep things fair. I think we're all just enjoying playing, regardless of who gets the points. :)

I know... but really, I changed the rules a bit to make it a bit more interesting. I mean... it seemed like it was always a similar answer

Who is it? Zoe
where is it? MK or any other park..
and then maybe a bit more specific with the actual location.

This way we can really play a bit more. Your answer kinda showed me that. I mean. Noon?? :rotfl2: Too funny!!!

Ok that one is hard. It is Zach, Steve and Zoe and I'm taking a wild guess with Animal Kingdom.

I was thinking no one wanted to play with me any more.

:rotfl:

Anyway, yes.. Susan that would be Steve and our Z's in AK. In looking at the photo I think there may be a couple more details to add. You get two points though. :goodvibes

Ding Ding.. time is up for today. (I promise not to always do that)

So that was taken in front of what I believe is the "mission" as you near the entrance to Tusker House. I was really hoping someone would give some more guesses so that my own memory could be jogged. This was taken in 2008. It was our first time to TH... shortly after they had changed from a qs to a ts restaurant. That time, there was a "tour" given to us as we entered the restaurant. I have been to this restaurant 6 times and all but those first 2 times (both on the 2008 trip) this was not the case... no tour. I wonder if that was just something they did when the change to the TS first happened. In any case... at the time, that building was shown to us and an explanation given as to what it was. Tired... for the life of me I can't recall the exact story. (or actually even a vague story) just that there was a story. I will have to ask Kira and Steve... they might remember. Oh.. wait... :rotfl: they are even more scattered at times than I am. I probably won't have much luck there ether.

Let me first say, ............ I missed that one! Busy day and early night due to the busy day! :rotfl2:

Plus, I would not have been much help, as this is a hard one! Never been to Tusker House and I will have to look out for that spot as I would have guessed AK as well, but then :confused3

Your family is beautiful though! And now go and get some sleep! :rotfl2:
