Christmas all year long!

Well...finally we are back to the room. Not our original nice private room... But it will do. When this is over..or maybe in a few days when I don't feel as though I am about to collapse... I will share an experience that make me freak out and have a minor panic attack when we got moved. I hate it when I act like a lunatic... Oh well...post traumatic stress...and fatigue, not to mention the stress and worry over Zoe...I think maybe today I get a sort of crazy pass :rolleyes1

Thank you all so muh for your thoughts and prayers. :goodvibes

Hugs and prayers continue now for recovery! Zoe is such a trooper to endure all of this! I am sure no one thinks you are a lunatic... Just a concerned, worried, frightened momma bear!!! Hang in there and focus on the difference this will make for Zoe!

I'll give ya a crazy pass for the next few days chick! It's been a very long stretch and it's going to take a few days to readjust. Major surgeries are major for a reason.

I'm glad to hear everything got done and saddened the worst-case scenario was their path, but it's done for now and you all can move forward.

Good that they've got her able to rest comfortably.

Keep us posted. :goodvibes:

Oh hun, don't worry about acting crazy. Ummm ... hello, your baby was having surgery!!!! Sorry they changed the rooms on you, as I'm sure after the exhausting day you were not prepared for that on top of all the worry and stress. I hope Zoe is able to rest today and her spirits are high - and you rest as much as possible as well!

Ann, you are entitled to act a little crazy...that is your little girl who was having the surgery. Hopefully, you get some rest today and Zoe is comfortable. We're here when you need us.

You all make me smile. It makes me not feel alone when I read all of your comments. Even if I don't respond to each of you personally, know that I really appreciate them

So we made it through the night. Zoe was pretty uncomfortable from time to time... But we survived. I didn't even bother to take out my contacts. I slept in a chair holding her hand all night..but she woke every 5 to 30 minute ( with the 30 being rare)

So the latest is that she is running a bit of fever. We will have to keep an eye on it.

Next is that on top of not having anything by mouth yesterday...clear fluids the day before... We found out that it will be several more days before they will even let her have a sip of water. She is upset this. Kira is livid. I understand the reason..but it does suck:sad2:

Ugh! What a rough night to have. I hope you and Zoe have a better day today! I'll be thinking of you two!

Ann, just got home and was glad to hear from you. No mum acts crazy - just concerned! So you are "just" a concerned mum, taking good care of her little girl!

Sorry to hear you had a rough night and not being allowed to have anything to drink sounds scary! Hope everything gets MUCH better soon!

Just joining in. Praying for Zoe. The slight fever is normal as her body tries to recover. Been on the liquid diet myself in a hospital for four days in High School. So I feel for her! Sometimes feeling hungry is worse than the pain you are in. I will be thinking of her.

Thinking about you and Zoe today. Hope she continues to feel better and that recovery goes well. Maybe some ice chips?

Thanks for the updates. I'm worried about y'all.

Well, she has some strange bacteria in her and so we are now in isolation...yay we get to be moved again so that they can use this room as a double room (our neighbor left last night)

I asked about ice chips... Not even ice chips are allowed. I feel bad because I warned Zoe she would be on a liquid diet after the surgery.. Not a NOTHING diet. :confused3

Glad to have you here! Yes, not being able to eat is almost as bad as the post op pain.. Right now though it also is the issue of dry mouth... Beig intimated so long has left her with quite the dry mouth.:sad2:

Sorry to hear about the bacteria...poor little girl.

My heart is breaking Ann, but I'm still praying for you guys. If Zoe could handle the surgery, she can kick this bacteria!

Poor sweet baby and tired mommie! Hugs to you both...

Ann - still praying for you guys! I can't even imagine... she's undoubtedly miserable which makes it harder for you, as well. Most definitely you get a crazy pass. ;) And I hope she can have some ice chips or water sooner than later.

Feel certain she will kick the bacteria and I'm thankful she didn't have major issues while in surgery (wheezing issues, etc.).

Just focus on the outcome she will have, spin out the positives and know you are all in your DIS friends hearts!! :grouphug:

We are sitting waiting for Zoe to be taken back... But I had to share. She had all of us laughing. She asked about her dinning plan. Wanted to know what was on it.... The nurses we laughing and asked where she got that way of talking.:rolleyes1. Hmmmmm :rotfl:

:rotfl: That's awesome.

:hug::hug::hug: Glad she made it through and everyone's hanging in there.

Sorry about that. Know that I'm thinking about both of you and glad to hear that you're doing OK. I also think you're completley entitled to whatever craziness whenever you feel it right now.

Last night was pretty rough. Her fever went up and it cause her to have heart rate spikes. This would set off the alarms. One of her drain tubes got twisted too. It caused her a lot of pain. Today we capped that one off, so hopefully we won't have much trouble with the others working (3 drain from essentially the same place). She is alert this morning though, and dispite the doc yesterday saying 3days nothing by mouth... The head attending on the case was pleased that she started to pass gass...so :woohoo: for apple juice. I guess considering the extent of her surgery and the fact that they cut a piece of her bowel out...she is ahead of schedule. Speaking of extent... I was not pleased to find that they ended up cutting through the front section of her pelvis. She will be fine and I was told it should not set her back with her orthopedic needs.. I hope so.

Sorry to hear of Zoe's rough night. But good news on passing gas and being able to have some apple juice. Hang in there, Ann, and get some rest yourself.

So sorry about the rough night but :yay:for Zoe's progress today. And I'm sure that apple juice will be delicious for her! I'm thinking of you guys.
