So since Kathy was the closest... I will give her that point. It was near the tea shop that doesn't take the dp. I forget what it is called... but since it doesn't take the dp I have not gone often.

After the points have been awarded I will try and explain what was going on for each picture... some I may not be able to.

In today's picture, I know exactly what was happening.

First, this was taken on our Feb/March 2010 trip. You can see Zoe has an injury. She was being a monkey in DHS and fell. She did not spit open her skin...but gave herself quite the bruise. On this morning, she and I went exploring. We were alone. It was a terribly cold morning. It was so fun to wander the resort, just the two of us.

Ya know what???? I may not be cute out for putting on my own game. I was looking through the POFQ picture thread and there is a post with a fountain and I swear it looks as though it is the same fountain. I was so sure that this was taken when Zoe and I went out to explore by ourselves. I think it was actually taken when we went to get beignets at POFQ.

Can I be forgiven for my blunder?

So lets see if this ole brain can remember (accurately) what was happening here.

(feb/march 2010) Steve, Zach, Zoe and I were in AK. It had been a particularly cold week. As we all know, Florida has a tendency to have rain. Not like Seattle's "go out in a misty sort of spitty type rain". No... like a getting a bucket dumped over your head sort of rain. I came prepared with ponchos. We suspected it would rain. This was my third trip and had really never experienced this "florida" rain. Out of no where, it seemed to come. People were running to hide under anything they could. In Asia within AK... there are not a bunch of shops (like in other parks or even if you were closer to the entrance to AK) I remember the pathways being clear and people being squished under awnings. Water literally flowed down the pathway. I normally can brave a bit of rain, but I donned the poncho. Zach however was too cool. He just let his fancy sweatshirt protect him. I don't think it did the best job. Being Zach though, he didn't complain if it didn't so i am not 100% sure.

I have only a few more days till I can make ADR's I can't believe it!!!

I also am tossing around a change and would love input.

Please be patient with me. I know, I know... if I am not talking/complaining about airfare, I seem to be whining about where to stay.

So with that said, I am wondering if we shouldn't change our stay to POR or POFQ. I do like the idea of staying in a deluxe. All the reading I am doing suggests that WL is not a "true" deluxe. If it is not going to be much nicer than POR or POFQ then I wonder if I should move our stay. It would save us quite a bit. I do think that the decorations would be lovely. However, I can't see anyone in my family really doing much outside the room, so would it really matter if we are staying there or just visiting to see the decorations. So these are my rambling thoughts. Ultimately... I should just leave well enough alone, right? I just keep thinking that new beds would be nice. Course, I guess WL is starting a refurb in October. Maybe we would get a refurb'd room. Hmmmm

Ok.. I am off.. I need to get ready.. maybe take a bit of a road trip. (thanks Karin )

I love the Pirates movies. We recently went to see the new one (I loved it!)

I think a bonus point for anyone who can tell me what this was used and in what Pirate movie.

Hi! Well, as for where you're staying... (as the picture games are next to impossible for me me...I'm too much of a newbie). I've been just as bad with our current trip, I swear, and I've only been planning this one for a couple of months. If you really think it won't matter, and you're not super excited to stay there, I'd go for POFQ or POR. I want to visit them both and check them out a bit more when we go back in July, as I think they're lovely on the outside. You can always have a good time visiting the resorts whose decorations you most want to see, right?

Hmmm... I don't know on the stay change... I would love to stay at POR someday! Really_really considered it for this trip but could not tear myself away from the Poly. And I have no rhyme or reason for that... But I find myself thinking about it now - would your pin still be good for the switch? Or would you lose your discount? That's what's held me to where we are currently staying - the discount we got. But I haven't exactly called to see if we would lose it if we switched, either. I do have a trip to the WL in our plans because I do want to see the decorations!

Yup... we could always visit other resorts. I am just going to have to give it some thought...

As for Zoe... she is doing well. Except she is a bit cranky. She is on prednisone and has a hard time sleeping. Her asthma seems to be a real thing. Her peak flow test still has not improved. She rarely complains... and is so active. I just never would have thought my poor baby was not breathing right.

I don't think I would loose the discount. I couldn't use it on the Pop night.. cause doing a split stay is considered two reservations. So as long as I just changed the reservation... I think I would not lose the pin discount. I would make sure and check before changing though.

I think it took us close to an hour to get to this one... it is NOT close by. However, I had other shopping to do and from where I live 45 minute or so is the average...and since Karin tempted me... I decided this was as good a place as any to go to shop.

I have not had anything to eat yet today and what do I see when I check on your PTR. Krispy Kreme!!!!!!!!! My all-time favorite and I have NO where to drive to get one because they've closed all of ours. Oh, I could get a box of them at the Jewel grocery store, but it's just not the same.

There are a lot of WL fans out there who love it. We've not stayed and, truthfully, I have no desire (we had some bad interaction with two CM's there and it just turned us off; plus it looks like the lodges in Wisconsin, our neighbor state and it just doesn't do it for me). However, I understand it is beautiful at Christmas time and very cozy and warm, and it is a deluxe...just not "as deluxe" as the Poly, BC, etc.

We've not stayed at POR or POFQ (as you know, we stay at CSR), but I love the looks of POR. Are your dates after the Pop Warner invasion for football? I believe they are, so you'd be okay switching to POR if you wanted to.

All of that said, I think you should stick with WL.

Thanks for your input. I am just being weird. I start to think I want to go back to PO (either one) and then I think I will miss out on WL and all that I have thought would go along with it. (like being a short boat ride to monorail access) I really am mulling it over... the savings... the theming. I think I would like POFQ more... but then there is the fact I want to eat at Poly, and GF and CR and being at WL would make that easier (I think)

As for the doughnuts. I think that it may be the only local one left. (but I could be wrong) I am glad that we made the trek. Truthfully, it isn't a long drive. Well.. not too much longer that I take for work. I work once a week down the hill from where KK is. Yet... I only go to KK maybe once a year?
