I am super tired... but after all the prep... and getting down to the OR, the anesthesiologist canceled her surgery. She heard a little "wheeze" in her lung. Since Zoe was going to be under for potential 9+ hours... it was too risky. Since I was agitated knowing it was likely allergy induced asthma and we would face this every morning... I pitched a bit of a fit. Got in to see a pulmonary specialist... who barely heard a wheeze... who then sent us with a plan to our primary care who by that time in the day could not hear a hint of a wheeze. Now we start on an aggressive regimen to strengthen her lungs and 3 weeks from today we will be back doing a prep again.

I am so very tired. Zoe's was a trooper yesterday, but it took a lot out of me. Then... the alarm on her iv pump went of ALL NIGHT. If I wasn't being woke by the pump it was the nurse taking Zoe's vitals (but..she was actually really good about being quiet when doing it) and if it wasn't her... it was Zoe. Up early.. and so very tired.

More waiting. that's tough Ann. I pray you are able to get some rest during this time. What a great girl your Zoe is being. This is not and easy time for either of you. Praying for strength and rest and health as you prepare once again.

Completely understand the fit.... you suck up so much energy just trying to get yourself mentally ready for her surgery just to find out you are going to have re-go through all of that again in a few weeks. I'm pretty sure you told me a while back "there's always a plan and a reason..." so hang in there!! You undoubtedly feel like you've just hit a wall! So get some rest. Any chance you can go to Zach's graduation?

I'm sorry for the aggravation. Nothing is ever simple at a hospital, is it? Just know that I'm thinking of and praying for both of you...all the way out here on the East Coast! Sending lots of love and lots of these to you. And thank you so much for updating us.

Thank you all for being so kind. I truly can't tell you all how much it means to me that you are all so supportive.

I am still feeling a sense of disappointment and frustration that we have to prepare all over again, but... in the end it is going to be what is best. I will have more time to prepare. Today, I am going to sit down and make a list of things I have to do, things I need to buy, things I need to bring to the hospital...etc. I am such a list maker... I am weird that way, I know... but it will help me organize myself and be better prepared. I mean... honestly if I were just a bit more focused, I may have taken more note of the allergy and took action. But... things happen for a reason... so... I have to have faith in that and move on... as hard as in some ways that is.

Any chance you can go to Zach's graduation?

This was a good idea... course, what you might think to be an obstacle is of course one... AIRFARE!!! OMG? I would have to fly separate from Steve and the flight would cost roughly $800. So... with the fact that Zoe is not on a very aggressive treatment for her lungs... and the cost of airfare, I still will not make his graduation.

Taken in September 2010, it was the girls only trip. After a rough year for my mom, I decided we needed to bring my mom to the happiest place. Since we had already gone once that year a second trip meant a bit tighter budget so we stayed at Pop. I was happy at how much Pop had to offer for Zoe. She is not a big swimmer. She does however love to play in the water and between the goofy water jet and the kid pool, she was in heaven. I only wish there was more time to play. Now.. if only the weather would cooperate come December... maybe we can play a bit on our first night since we will be staying at Pop.

This too was on our 9/10 trip. It was a hot day and we were doing the "around the world" thing. (trying to find something to nibble on in each country) We also took time to shop. We had just split a meal at Sommerfest and so we had large drinks.

Currently I am trying to decide on if we will be taking our stroller with us in December. It is partially due to what came next on our 9/10 trip that I wonder if it is a good idea.

Zoe had a tendency to jump up out of the stroller on this trip. Bringing my mom was wonderful except for the fact that in much part she was like having another child rather than another adult with us.

We stopped to shop in the toy store with drinks in hand. I am not sure what made all of us so unaware of what this might lead to, but... I am sure you can see where I may be going with this... We all started looking around in the shop. We were all a bit distracted. Kira was trying to find a German Donald for Josh and mom is always distracted... and well me??

Anyway, we sat a drink down in the stroller and Zoe jumped up... the drink spilled and gallllllooooosh... was everywhere.

Sadly we didn't stay very long (yes, long enough to let a cm know about the spill).. but I did manage to come away with this picture.
