Here's a

for you.
LOL, could you tell I needed one?
So here is how the last few days have gone....
Sat - It was the day to take Kira's dress up to be fitted and cleaned. Part of the purchase agreement was that the dressmaker would take care of that.
Well, it turns out that there is a ton of road work going on up in that area. It is also a hard to figure out area. Normally, I would think an hour or so to get up to this dressmaker's shop/house (she does this from her home) Well, after driving back and forth we finally found it. It took us over 2 hours to get there. We were in fact a tad late for the appointment... but she wasn't there.

No one was there. We left a message and she has yet to get back to us. Kira's dress will need some repair and cleaning... fit is fine. We ended up doing some shopping though since we were all the way into civilization. (we live in the boonies and we were up in the "big city") I did get my dress for the wedding (yay

) This took all day though...so busy..and tired we plan for the next day.
Sunday - This was to be family "clean the house day"
Since I had devoted the previous day to Kira, she agreed to come help. Well, Steve again worked (he has worked every weekend for many weeks) Alex was gone. Zoe of course isn't a huge help...but she did clean her room. Kira didn't show up until late in the day. So really, I spent the day cleaning by myself. I accomplished quite a bit... but it was a full day.
Monday - This is the day to pick up my mom. Also though, I had to get as much done as I could for work since I would be taking tuesday (today) off.
I got up not as early as I should have, but it turned out that was a blessing. I went to work and got 5 of the 20 tasks I have for the week accomplished. I had wanted to get one more store taken care of, but it got to be too late and I knew I needed to get to the airport to pick up my mom (airport is about an 45 to 60 minutes away)
The girls and I drove to get my mom and while in route, mom called to say she was already at the airport. She had managed to catch an earlier flight.

So she had to wait.
We got my mom fine and took her to her hotel. (she was staying in a hotel because Dept. of L&I was paying for all of this and had arranged it all) At her hotel there was a restaurant and she had vouchers to eat so we ate an early dinner
After dinner, I had to get Kira back to the town we live so she could head out of town with her dfi. I also figured Steve and Alex could see my mom for a bit. We first stopped at Kira's. She wanted to show her gma her wedding dress and her menagerie of animals. (have you seen my dd's ptr?) Then we went to my place, but Steve was still working and Alex was not home. We hung out for a bit, but at 9pm I figured I should take her to her hotel. (it is about 45 to 60 minutes away) Luckily, Alex showed up right before we left so I didn't have to drive alone (Steve was still working)
After dropping mom off... back we went home. We had made amazing time. At roughly 10:30pm I arrived back in town. That is when the most horrid thing happened. (ok, maybe not the most horrid...but I was tired and last night it was horrid)
I was stopped at a light. At this particular light one has to turn left or right onto a main "highway" or go straight into a parking lot. As I am sitting there, finding myself tired I placed my elbow on the window ledge. I then rested my head into my hand. I was talking to Alex while doing this. The light turned green.
Just as the light turned green, a police car pulled up behind me and turned on his lights. I couldn't imagine what the trouble was since I had just been sitting. I wondered if I had a tail light out. I pulled ahead into the parking lot and stopped.
When the officer parked behind me he turned his spot light on. I could not see anything around my car and could barely see him as he approached. When I rolled my window down, I was already getting my license from my purse. He asked for all my information (license and registration) and I then asked "can I ask what the problem is". His reply "can I ask why you were on your cell phone?" (it is against the law here in this state to drive with a phone to your ear)
I very quickly said I was not on my cell phone. (I wasn't...remember...elbow on window ledge) This quickly devolved into a "I saw you" and a "no, you didn't". I held my ground.... to the point where I looked sternly at him and said "if you ticket me, I WILL contest it. I was NOT on my phone" I offered to let him see my call log. It was horrid.
After all that bickering, I gave him my license. He quickly took one look at it and asked where my corrective lenses were and that he needed to see them. I told him they were in my eyes and opened my eyes widely for him. This devolved again... He continued to say he needed to see them and why didn't I have my corrective lenses. I continued to hold my ground telling him that I did have them. He only proceed to say "well, where are they?" I told him again and again they are in my eyeBALLS! He then started telling me how hard it was to get a straight answer from me and what does that even mean "in my eyes". I then said... very perplexed (was he joking),that i wear contacts. Then he tells me that normal people just respond initially by saying that they wear contacts. (being tired, I just answered the question... where are they and can he see them) He never asked me what corrective lenses I wear.
The harassment continued for a half hour. Zoe was asleep the entire time. At one point a second car was called (as though I was a drunk driver)
In the end I received a $550 ticket. Why??? My insurance card JUST expired. The officer told me he would give me the benefit of the doubt with the cell phone...but that "people don't drive that way". He also did mention that IF in fact I do actually have insurance that contesting the ticket and bringing proof will get it knocked down to only the $25 court fee.
As he left, he looked back and started up with my seat belt. (I had to unbuckle it at one point to get into my glove box for the registration) I gave him a look and he said... "well, just make sure you buckle up" (seat belt laws exist here too)
I can't believe I now have to go to court. Of course I have insurance. I drive a newer suburban that cost me more than this guy probably makes in a year. Really? "IF" I have insurance.??? Please!!! Oh well...
Next up... the day with my mom and what was found at the doctor's office
