Christine & Allen 10/08/12 WP/GF way overdue update 08/28

Great update! The wedding dresses are beautiful! I don't think you could go wrong with either one! And I love your Tears of Joy packets...they turned out gorgeous!

What Sleeping Beauty shirt are you talking about (what does it look like)? DH has the Prince Phillip one and I would love to try to find the Sleeping Beauty one!

What Sleeping Beauty shirt are you talking about (what does it look like)? DH has the Prince Phillip one and I would love to try to find the Sleeping Beauty one!

It had Sleeping Beauty's face and it said "True Love". It was a white shirt and her face was black and white sketching and the "True Love" was in red foil I think. Hahaha at least that's the shirt in my head that I keep picturing :rotfl:

So I'm a massage therapist, I have been working at my current office since the end of February. In May I left my second office to put all my energy into my current one. When I was hired the doctor agreed to pay me hourly to do office work and then a higher hourly amount when I had massages. It was only part time but recently the full time therapist went on a leave for 6 weeks so I stepped in as the full time therapist. I was so excited for my paycheck today, it was the biggest one so far and we were going to pay off Allen's credit cards and pay off half of an amount I have. When I went to get my check the doctor asked me to explain the office hours. I told him I take the hours I was here and subtract the massage hours (i.e 9:00 - 8:00 is 11 hours I had 6 hours of massage = 5 hours of office work) Now when I'm not massaging I am answering phones, making calls to patients to schedule them, entering charges into the system, entering EOBs from insurance companies, verifying benefits etc.
So really long conversation short he is refusing to pay me office hours and massage hours on the same day that I need to choose one or the other. He "put out an ad for massage therapist for $15 per hour and they can keep their tips and got 60-70 responses. So why should I pay you more then twice that for massage when I can hire them." I was shocked!! And he refuses to pay me for the office hours so my check was shorted $400.
I have worked with some crazy doctors before and he was so nice and normal! He's always said he appreciates how hard I work and that he will always remember that and if he could kiss my feet he would.
He's pushing his office manager out until she quits so he can hire someone cheaper. She's been his office manager since he opened!! He gave the other therapist 2 weeks notice because she can't be there all day (she wasn't hired for all day she was only hired for the morning).
So I have to decide if I want to take the $15 per hour or if there is a minimum that I need to make every day and give him that number and he will think about if that works for him or not. And we are having a talk this next week..
I'm clearly going to look for another job but in the mean time I'm thinking of taking the $15 for now because something is better then nothing...right!
Sorry girls I just had to vent it all off. I came home balling!

Your wedding is exactly one year after ours, and we have pretty much the same venues! Just a different portion of the ballroom. Love your choices ;)

Thanks! I was actually reading your PJ before I had to go to work this morning. I only made it to page 2 but it's on my to do list this weekend! :goodvibes

Hey Christine! Congrats on the engagement (I'm a little late lol) I just read through...and I have to say I LOVE your color combinations! I especially love the way you did your tears of joy packets...we did some too but they do NOT look as nice as that. I think I might have to add little crystals or something. As for your work situation...definitely take the 15$ an hour until you can find something better. It sucks that he treated you that way! It's too bad you didn't have a written agreement or something...men are an emotional roller coaster sometimes eh? Anyways...I wish you luck with the planning! and the job search too!

P.S. Your doggies are ADORABLE <3

Thank you!! I love our colors they are so bright and happy!! If it wasn't for the Cuttlebug I don't know what I would do! That thing is awesome! I played around with different embellishments before settling on the layout we have. I have little pearls too that I tried, didn't work haha. Just get some small stuff and play around with it until you're happy!
We sat down this week and worked everything out, I'm still taking a cut but not as much as originally which I'm calmer about and in six months when more money starts coming in for the business we are going to sit back down and talk about going back up at least to where I was at if not more. Yes they are! It's PMS (permanent male syndrome) :rotfl: but we have our crazy moments too so what can any of us do :goodvibes

I won an ebay auction for a dress I was going to use for our Welcome Party but when it came it's actually burgundy in person. It's still a pretty dress so it will be used for the holidays!! I love it!
WelcomePartyDress.jpg

Very excited!! It's a size 8 but I know I can get back down to that size way before then. I've been meeting with a personal trainer twice a week for the past two weeks and even though the pounds aren't melting away quickly I notice I have more stamina and I can do more and more each time.

I've been searching and searching for shoes for the wedding and now for this dress. I still can't get over how pretty the Christian Louboutin shoes are but I also am having a hard time giving up the idea of pink shoes on the wedding day. My mom will have a fit but that's besides the point  So I've decided I'm going to attempt to make them thanks to Amanda's amazing job!

I've been talking to my MOH and DF about the week of the wedding where we are going to stay. We want to rent points and stay at a DVC. I would LOVE to stay at Bay Lake Towers with a Magic Kingdom view (wouldn't we all?! ;-) ) we are thinking we are going to stay at Boardwalk. It's walking distance to the World Showcase in EPCOT which will be AWESOME for the Saturday events of Drink Around The World Team Bride vs Team Groom and later that night we have the Welcome Party. So it won't be a problem to walk (or slightly stumble) back to the Boardwalk and relax for a couple hours and change and go to the Welcome Party. And for the day of the wedding for Allen to go to his "Practice Plunge".

I've put out a couple of emails to people renting points to see if they would be willing to rent them to me that far out. One is only a member at Old Key West he was so nice and helpful he went over all the resorts he's stayed at with the pros and cons, he really recommends OKW or Boardwalk. He did say that since it's opening week of the Food & Wine Festival it's going to be a hit or miss for him to get it at 7 months out.
What did everyone do the morning of the wedding? I was thinking about doing a brunch with the girls and some of the family...

I'm looking for linens for the reception, I'm hoping to find a bride with the turquoise color and get her linens. I got a couple of quotes and the places are asking $40-55 and I think that is just ridiculous!! I found them online for under $30. I love online shopping!

This past Sunday I met up with a friend to go to the Bridal Extravaganza in Atlanta. It was so fun! We decided even after we are married we may still go to these things, free drinks and cake?! Heck YEAH! :cheer: It would be nice to go to one in Orlando to see more of the vendors for that area so we may do a weekend thing. She is now one of my bridesmaids and her kids are going to be the ring bearer and flower girl. They are so cute! So now I have my MOH and two bridesmaids. I still have to ask Tascha in Oregon, I've been really bad about not finishing her project to send out. It's great though to have one of my "maids" local, she's going to be helping MaryAnn next May with the bridal shower and such; and of course me with trying my dresses on again in a couple of months. :goodvibes

I have not updated on here in quite sometime!!!

So we got the room block info a few weeks ago.
I asked about blocking Art of Animation and Kristi said that we could block it but it would be at regular rack room rates that they are not offering any discounts. I knew it was a long shot but I had to ask!
So we blocked rooms at Pop Century and a few at Port Orleans Riverside and Caribbean Beach just in case someone decides they want to stay in the moderates. All the family I have talked to have stated that they want to stay in the cheapest place possible.

We are hoping to rent points for BWV, so far everyone is only offering me points at $12 per point; I'd really like to find someone for no more then $10 per point.

Has anyone done embossing before? I'm trying to do two colors, for our monogram. I played around with doing one color and I have that down. I tried the embossing pen on the printed monogram with the clear powder and it so did not work!

I worked on Allen's groomsmen card. He LOVES the Hangover (as I think most guys do) so here's what I came up with to ask his three guys.... :jack:

Wolfpack.jpg

Alan - his friend Joe
Stu - his best friend Ray
Phil - "little" Joe (he's been friends with his family for years and coached all of them in basketball)

We officially have signed our contract earlier this week and put the deposit down. I'm so excited to find out who our planner is and really start planning the details of everything.

I have so much more to update. I bought my dress! I will do I big update this weekend!!!:goodvibes:cool1:

Things are looking good!!! Loving the wolf pack cards!

Cant wait to hear more... were both getting closer now... after xmas the time will fly by!

XXX

I'm just coming across your PJ. Welcome! I hope you send up some updates! Not only are we almost wedding day twins, (I'm on the 6th) but I live in Atlanta too!!
We've chosen so many similar things like the venue and the reception locations. I hope you continue to post your plans!

Oh my goodness I haven't updated in a REALLLLYYY LONG TIME!!
Ok so let's see...
I have my dress, yay! I got an awesome deal on it, I went to the store to try on dresses again to see if I could find something that I loved. I tried on two of the original dresses that I couldn't decide between. My dress was ordered by a bride who changed her mind and wanted a different dress, it just came in and fit me like a glove!! I loooooooooooooooooooooovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeee it!!! :lovestruc I'm not going to post pictures of me in the dress just in case... It's Mori Lee #4612
I love it!! I need to find a veil to go with it, there was a really pretty one at the store that matched the beading really well however they wanted over $300 for it...ummm yeah nooooooo. That's more then half of what I spent on my dress!!

We have chosen the bridesmaids dresses....
As you can tell it's by the same designer as my dress. The strap is removable and we will be removing it. They will be ordering them in April so that will give enough time to get them in and altered. They will be in the turquoise color and the girls will be holding pink flowers. I'll be making them from the Real Touch silk flowers...anyone feel like your to-do list keeps getting longer and longer?
daisies.jpg

Saturday I bought our flower girl dress on sale....I just love sales! I think it will look great in pictures with the girls in turquoise.
FlowerGirlDress.jpg

We have decided on Boma for a rehearsal breakfast on the Sunday before the wedding. His dad is offering to cover this and we are oh so very grateful!!
I'm really hoping that they have Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party on Sunday night so I would like to keep that open.

In the next couple weeks I'll be going in with Allen to Mens Warehouse to pick out all the suits/colors for everything so we will have that info for our planning session.

I booked our planning session stay, we are staying at the Caribbean Beach Resort. I'm sooooo very excited for this, neither of us have stayed here and it's in our room block so it will be a good experience to give info/tips to our guests. Allen wants to go into the parks (so down with this!!) so I've been planning our days as best I can this will be our first time not on the dining plan and just using TW...

Friday - take him to work at butt crack of dawn (that emoticon would be great here :) pick up rental car around noon, pack and be at his work by 2:30. Drive half way (roughly) to Tifton and stay the night.

Saturday - drive to Disney (yay!) check in at Caribbean Beach, head to EPCOT for the rest of the day. We have ressies at Le Cellier for a late lunch around 2pm. I don't have any dinner plans as of yet.

Sunday - sleep in, go to Downtown Disney we have 12pm ressies at 12pm. I have my hair/make-up trial from 2-4 and then we are meeting Regina for photos. Then hopefully over to Liberty Tree for dinner at 7:40

Monday - quick but filling breakfast because it's Planning Session day!!! Our Planning Session is first and then we have our menu tasting in the afternoon. And then hopefully by 7:50 we are hungry again to eat at Sci-Fi

Tuesday - breakfast at Boma and head home.

MaryAnn (MOH) is going to be flying in sometime in May for the bridal shower here. I'm excited to see her!

I've been working on the Drinking/Snacking Around the World girls vs guys and we have a point system worked out so yay for that!

I will be better about updating everything!! It's a nice place to have all your thoughts put together, even though it's random at times!

Your dress is absolutely GORGEOUS!! Love it!!

I also love the bridesmaid dresses-- they go perfectly with your gown!

I love your color scheme-- so fresh and happy!

And heck yes! My to-do list grows by the minute!

The flower girl dress is adorable! Gotta love a sale! ;)

It's awesome you're doing Boma for the RD! So fun!

Can't wait to hear all about your planning session! Your plans look awesome so far!!

Thanks for following girls!

I will be having a surprise grooms cake delivered from It's Tasty Too.
greenlanterncake.jpg

I originally wanted it at the dessert party in EPCOT on Saturday but the chefs came back and told Amy (our wedding planner) that the cake above was not cake but rice krispie instead. I sent them a Darth Maul head cake and they came back and said the same thing. For both of them they told me that I could have a cake that is "themed around" the movie. Ummmm no thanks!
I contacted Its Tasty Too and they said sure it will be $ per person just let us know what flavors and when you want it delivered. I asked if the center would light up, "Yes we can put LEDs inside the center so it will light up"
Done and Done!!!!

I'm keeping the cake a complete surprise from DF. I was really starting to worry when Disney kept coming back and telling me no, so when I got an email back from Its Tasty Too saying they would do it I was so relieved!

We went to the store I bought my dress from and set up the account for the girls to call in with their measurements and order their dresses. I'm happy with the results of my decision...$142 including tax. My bridesmaid Tascha is right on top of everything, she's made her hotel reservations at Pop (shes our only guest so far lol) and she ordered her dress right away! Love her!

My mom also ordered her dress today as well she decided on this and ordered a matching jacket to go over her shoulders, it will be in purple. Its very much a similar style to the girls' dresses and to mine but with the jacket it makes a difference...
MomsDress.jpg

I also ordered a veil, yay Amazon! Only $80 for a cathedral length with crystal beading along the edges. I couldn't get a close picture of the beading before ordering but I figured I could always return it if it doesn't match very well. And hey for that price it certainly beats the $280++ quotes that I have been getting. When it came in I took it right over to my mom's the next day and it matches perfectly with the dress!!

I got the flower girl dress in...its ADORABLE I love it!!

P1000284.jpg

I bought these for the girls for the day of the wedding from Overstock and used the Living Social Deal to get $10 off. I'm going to try to find studs to match unless I can find earrings with the same halo design...

BridesmaidNecklace.jpg

I also got them in, and they are not as pink as I thought they were going to be so I'm not sure how I feel about them yet...I may return them and try to find something else. I tried taking pictures but they turn out odd so here's a few...

your invites look fantastic!! seriously amazing!! wendy did a great job!!!

i like the necklaces too!

Love these invites, go Wendy! The colors really pop and they feel so...HAPPY! Great design :goodvibes

I like the necklaces, but I always feel disappointed when I order jewelry online. I feel like it never is what I expected it to be.

They look great with the new pocketfold color!

Thanks Wendy! You did such an awesome job I don't think I can thank you enough!
I got the pink pocketfold too but I was told it was too much pink (I don't feel you could ever really have that much!)
We are going to do pink swirl belly band and envelope liner :goodvibes

I agree ladies YAY WENDY (not that I'm at all bias or anything :lmao: )

I like the necklaces I just worry that they are not pink enough to match with the flowers and other decor....I wish they were exactly like the picture

We are back from our Planning Session! It was great!! I was horrible and didn't take pictures until the planning session....I know I'm horrible! We stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort for the first time, it was nice. There was a huge cheer competition going on Saturday while we were at EPCOT and there was a group of them staying in a block right by our room. It was always quiet at night and in the morning it was a nice change from the values that there seems to always be noise. The double sink was also a nice plus along with the mini fridge and the little bit of extra space!
We drove down to Tifton GA Friday after Allen got off work and stayed the night there, I think next time we will spend the extra and stay in Valdosta.
The next morning we got up and drove down to EPCOT for our 2pm reservations at LeCellier, it was oh so good! Allen got the micro beer sampler and we both ordered the soup and the filet...it's always so yummy! Allen was surprised and really liked the dark beer with a hint of chocolate, normally he's only a light beer drinker. After lunch we walked around the world and tried the Grand Marnier Grey Goose slush in France...ummm yum! Allen said he could taste the alcohol, all I tasted was yumminess which is funny because I don't drink very often so you would think I would taste it but nope! lol He stopped in Morocco and got one of their strawberry slushes, it was too sweet to me but he really liked it. After we walked around we went back up to the parking lot and went over to the Caribbean Beach to check in.
We unpacked and went back to EPCOT and walked over to the Beach Club and had dinner at Beaches & Cream. We had burgers and then split a brownie a la mode. It was soooo good but HUGE we couldn't finish everything, but we will definitely be going back on the wedding trip! We were sitting at the counter and the people behind us had ordered the kitchen sink and the four of them finished it! I think we will try with more then 4 people the first time haha
We walked over to Japan and watched Illuminations, it's Allen's favorite and we always try to catch it when we can.
Sunday we had a quick service breakfast at the resort and headed to Downtown Disney. We wandered around the stores and did some shopping. We had reservations at TRex at noon, oh goodness was it packed in there! We sat on a bench out front over by the DVC stand, the guy (David) came over and talked to us for awhile. He said that TRex was much better than the Rainforest Cafe as far as decor and food. He talked us into doing a tour later that day. TRex was ok, the portions were huge!
We went back to the room for my hair/makeup trial with Beaute Speciale that started at 2. We had a new driver so we were a couple minutes late getting back and made it back just before 2. Rosie was waiting for me outside our door :wave2: She came in and got started right away, I showed her my inspiration pictures
MakeupInspiration.jpg

weddinghair.jpg

She was excited for me not being afraid of color for my makeup. She started on my hair and curled away at my hair and putting pins everywhere! Here's the outcome, I love it!!... and as we all know excuse the odd faces lol

P1000349.jpg

P1000350.jpg

P1000347.jpg

We went on the tour, there was a large group of us that were there. They gave us fast passes for going and dropped us off at the Magic Kingdom. We went on Pirates and then went and checked in for our Liberty Tree Tavern reservation. After dinner we went outside and sat down for a spot at the parade. I haven't seen the parade since I was a kid I was so excited! It was shorter then I remember it. We went and rode on Haunted Mansion it was our first time with the new ending. We walked over to Snow White and rode that for the last time and then over to Buzz Lightyear.

Yay Planning Session Day!! We were up early and on our way over to the Grand for breakfast at 1900 Park Fare. We had one of the first reservations and they take opening at 8:00 very seriously because the doors did not open until then! The food was awesome! That's the first place we have found that had thick (well thick for Disney) bacon, it was great! We had our fill and then over to meet with Amy!
We sat down and Amy came right over and introduced herself and took us into Merriweather. We went through a ton of info but I was more prepared than I thought I would be so that made me happy and took a lot of stress off me. We went over how the day would run and our vendors. She said Misty is awesome that her camera sounds like a machine gun because she just keeps getting shots and that Amy is exhausted just watching the bride and groom with Misty hahaha She said she will put you in weird/awkward positions but the pictures turn out amazing. And that Misty likes to use every single minute she possibly can and tries to get extra minutes. I told Amy I am good with all of that because that means she is working her butt off for me and that's just awesome! She gave me a heads up as well that Rev Jack Day is extremely sweet and such a great guy but that he will probably call multiple times to confirm our wedding date and he will call her and do the same thing. It's best to contact him via phone and that he has an iPhone and knows how to use it.
We have our rehearsal scheduled at 8:00am on Sunday at the wedding pavilion, she said nothing can be confirmed until 30 days before but to schedule our breakfast first and we will work around the breakfast.
It will only be the bridal party no family before the ceremony for pictures, all family pictures will be after the ceremony. We will be having a first look and it will just be the two of us (Allen spoke up on that one  )
We met with Laura from Disney floral to go over chairs, tablecloths/napkins, dessert party and personal floral. I have an outside florist for everything else. The only reason why I'm using Disney floral for personal (which is so backwards from the norm) is since our bridal shoot is scheduled for Wednesday after our Monday wedding I want my floral refreshed and my outside vendor is from Daytona Beach. I think it's just easier if Disney does it that way I know for sure it's on time and ready to go for both events.
Laura was great! I showed her my pictures of our colors and I had the swatches of the bridesmaids, mine and my mom's dresses. I asked about the glow tables for the dessert party buffet and she told me that those are something EPCOT events have and Amy will just need to request those for us. So YAY! I told her I just want simple black linens and the glow gel centerpieces. They will be multi-colored on each table and have star confetti inside.
Pictures9.jpg

Dessert Party Menu
Milk and Dark Chocolate Fondues with Berries, Pineapple, Bananas, Angel Food Cake, Pretzels,
Graham Crackers, and Marshmallows
Brownies
Strawberry Shortcake in martini glasses
And they are checking on making your own Smores - they have an action station that they put together smores for you but they haven't ever had it where the guest makes their own

Bouquetcollage.jpg

My bouquet will be all pink, it will have mokara orchids, roses, hydrangeas, gerbera daisies and stephanotis with rhinestones in the center. Allen will have an orchid and a stephanotis.
Chiavari chairs in silver with ivory pads and crushed satin overlays in turquoise with pink napkins. She said she has two vendors for the chairs and one of them is $1 more per chair but they have more cushion cover options. The ivory is fine to me people will be sitting on them so you won't really see them anyways.
After we met with Laura it was cake time! It was already past our 1pm time oops. We had Yellow, Chocolate, Marble, Lemon and Red Velvet to try. The fillings we had were milk chocolate, dark chocolate, strawberry, fresh strawberries, raspberry, cream cheese, amaretto, baileys, and tropical mouse.
We chose top and bottom layer Lemon cake with raspberry filling and the middle layer red velvet with cream cheese filling.
The lemon cake with the raspberry filling was our favorite, it made me laugh because when I told Allen I was adding it to the sheet for us to try he thought it sounded gross and told me it was all me to try. Well HA!
We had a bit of break before our menu tasting so we went over to the Poly and walked around there for awhile. We headed back over to the Grand at the Convention Center and when we got inside this is what I saw....
P1000352.jpg

YAY!!!! I was so excited!
We met with Amy and she walked us into the back...our names were on the screen!
P1000353.jpg

Our chefs name was Chef Gary and Todd was our butler, they were awesome.
The first thing we tried was Bacon-crusted Beef and Blue Cheese with Balsamic Sun-dried Tomato Pesto
P1000354.jpg

The next was their take on the Le Cellier soup and they gave us pizza bread (sadness)
P1000355.jpg

P1000356.jpg

The soup wasn't as thick and didn't have as much flavor so we asked for the onions to be chopped smaller and more bacon and white cheddar

I had mixed greens with feta cheese, candied pistachios (which were missing; sadness again!) and orange honey vinaigrette It was so good though I kept trying to eat as much as I could but they were waiting on me for the next course hahaha
P1000358.jpg

Allen had grilled jumbo shrimp with lemon garlic butter sauce Allen said they were awesome and a must have at the wedding!
P1000357.jpg

The next course was the raspberry champagne sorbet - it was served in glass flower and there was chocolate and kiwi leaves designed on the plate. The flavors together was so good!
P1000359.jpg

We then tried the LeCellier filet inspired beef....oh so wonderful and they assured us it can be made into a strip loin
It was served with wild mushroom risotto
P1000362.jpg

Airline chicken with blackberry demi sauce
P1000363.jpg

This one was only alright...there wasn't a WOW factor, it tasted like chicken...I kept waiting for some burst of flavor or something and nope nothin! Amy suggested the Parmesan Chicken for the day of as our chicken dish. We said that was fine.

And last but certainly not least....
P1000364.jpg

The chocolate dome was placed on our menu instead of another beef or chicken dish (apparently the chefs won't make two beef or two chicken) so we needed to add something else. Jessica (our assistant) called me the week before and this was what we came up with in place of. It was AMAZING!!

So here is our menu as of now and I'm sure it will be slashed when we get the bill!

Call Brands Bar - we will also be adding a signature cocktail - it will be the juice from Boma (guava passionfruit) with rum
She said it was no extra charge since we were having a bar already

Cocktail Hour
Bacon-crusted Beef and Blue Cheese with Balsamic Sun-dried Tomato Pesto
Pigs in a Blanket with mustard sauce
Grilled jumbo shrimp and steamed muscles with lemon garlic butter sauce
International Cheese Display

LeCellier Beer & Cheese Soup with warm pretzel bread

Buffet Dinner
Build Your Own Salad Station
Medley of Greens with toppings: Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Red Onion, Roasted Peppers, Marinated Fennel, Carrots, Olives, Cheddar Cheese, Feta Cheese, Shredded Hard Boiled Eggs, Bacon, Roasted Garlic Croutons, Candied Pistachios, Balsamic, Low-fat Zinfandel, and Blue Cheese Dressings, Orange Honey Vinaigrette

Main Course
Carved To Order:
LeCellier Inspired Beef Strip Loin with truffle butter sauce
Parmesan-crusted Chicken Breast with Mushroom Cream Olive Oil, Herb and Sea Salt tossed Steamed Vegetables
Assorted Rolls and Butter

Martini Action Station
Yukon Gold Potatoes topped with Aged Cheddar, Chive Sour Cream, and Crisp Prosciutto
Creamy Parmesan and Champagne Risotto topped with Crab Gremolata
Grown-up Truffle Macaroni and Cheese (no lobster)

After dinner we will have the sorbet plated to our guests. And then with cake they will place a three tiered tray on each table that will have bride & groom strawberries and the chocolate domes
^^^^^ - All of that Allen added, I was shocked!

I'm terrified of what our dinner bill is going to be per person so I'm sure we will be removing some things!!

So that was our Planning Session! I'm excited to get the BEO from both and to find out how many guests we are having to give me a better idea!
