Hi everyone! I've been on the DIS boards for a while but I'm new to the WISH boards. I've been eating better for a while, but it's not giving me very many results, so today I'm getting serious about my weight loss efforts. I am joining curves on my way home from work and I"m going to start an eating plan. I just have to have some sort of guidelines or I'll cheat. So I think I'll start out with a maximum calorie per day plan. I am 5'3" and weigh 190 lbs, so I t hink that 1500 calories a day is good. I know I need enough, but not too many. Anyone have any thoughts on how many calories a day I need to lose weight? I am also drinking TONS of water and eating every few hours. I break my meals up. For example: I'll have a cereal bar in the morning, then a few hours later, a banana. Then a few hours later a sandwich, few hours later carrots, few hours later 100 calorie pack of wheat thins, then I usually have a normal dinner with my family. Usually a big salad and some meat/side. Then I'll have a snack at night. I'm hoping that this will keep my metabolism up, along with exercising.
Anyway, before I got pregnant, I weighed 110 lbs and was a size 3. I gained 55 lbs and weighed 165 at the time I delivered my son. I really only lost around 10 lbs after having my son and stayed at a size 12. I then joined weight watchers adn lost about 15 lbs and was down to around 140 and a size 9. I thought I still needed to lose weight, but looking back at the pictures, I looked GREAT. Even looking at the pictures right after I had the baby, at a size 12, I looked really good. Anyway, I gained all the weight back and then have continued to put on weight until now I am at 190 (25 lbs more than I was at 9 months pregnant) and a size 18
My goal is to get back down to 140 lbs and a size 9. I'll be so happy to be in single digit sizes, half of what I'm wearing now at that. I never want to be 110 lbs or a size 3. I'd be very happy to be a size 7 and around 130 lbs.
I also have problems with my back. I was in a car accident at 18 and haven't ever recovered. It makes it really hard to get up and exercise. There are lots of things i cannot do, like rollerblading or jumping on the trampoline with my son. Besides that, when I hurt, I don't feel like doing anything. But at the same time, the less I do, the more weight I gain, and the worse my back feels. So I know I need to do this for my health as well.
Thanks everyone for reading this long entry. I'll try to post some pictures in a little while.
