CLING TO HIS PROMISES...

I'll Not Forget You/Bryan Duncan

Sarah's waiting in a crown of silver hair
Maternal heart still aching
A promised ray of hope, a child to bear
No child is here, is this not fair?
Her labor of love has no device
Faithful in silent sacrifice
Has Heaven forgotten?
Is God still there?
He says, "Learn to trust me"

"I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you"

Abraham is marking time as years go by
Hiding his pain in laughter
And every night he's counting stars that fill the sky
So sure his dream has passed him by
Doubting, his vision's not so clear
What did God say, what did I hear?
Has heaven forgotten?
Is God still there?
He says, "Learn to trust me"

"I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you,
I'll not forget you"

Ooooh!
Oh! And every day in pain, I wait
I can't help but wonder why
You promise me your love and say goodbye
Please don't say goodbye!

I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you, oh!
When you walk alone
When you break inside
(I'll not forget you)
When a loved one dies
(I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you)
When your youth is gone
(I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you)
Oh in an empty home
(I'll not forget you
I'll not forget you)
When your health has gone
(I'll not forget you)

THE WAITING/4HIM

I know, you know,
We all have taken blows
At times the weight is more
Than you and I can bear
I hurt, you hurt
We live and breathe the word
But through it all it's good to know
We need to know
That Jesus is there
And you will never have to face the hurt alone

When you're waiting
Through the hard times
Hold on, don't let go
Waiting through the hard times
Will only make you strong, hold on

I cry, you cry,
Life takes us by surprise
Before you know,
It'll catch you unaware
I need, you need,
Much more than sympathy
But through it all it's good to know
We need to know
That Jesus is there
And you will never ever have to cry alone

When you're waiting
Through the hard times
Hold on, don't let go
Waiting through the hard times
Will only make you strong, hold on

When you're waiting
Through the hard times
Hold on, don't let go

You will never ever have to cry alone

When you're waiting
Through the hard times
Hold on, don't let go
Waiting through the hard times
Will only make you strong, hold on

The Promise/4HIM

I’ve been watching you
Holding on for me
But through the waiting and the wonder
Somehow you still believe
If your faith is strong
Someday you will find
It may not be like you expect it
But I will come to you
In a perfect time

You may be waiting for the fire
When I’m calling through the rain
You may be listening for the thunder
While I’m whispering your name
You may be searching for a sign
To let you know that it’s okay
Hold on
Cause I’m on my way

I came to Abraham
I was the sacrifice
And forty years I walked with Moses
Through the wilderness of life
I came to Bethlehem
I saw them crucify the lamb
And as I rolled away the stone
I heard Him say
That He’s coming back again

You may be waiting for the fire
When I’m calling through the rain
You may be listening for the thunder
While I’m whispering your name
You may be searching for a sign
To let you know that it’s okay
Hold on
Cause I’m on my way

REST/Big Daddy Weave

To all who are weary and those who are heavy laden
Lay at the feet of the one who loves you best
Bring all of your trials and all of your tribulation
Come unto me and I will give you rest

I will give you rest

Take my yoke upon you
Come and learn from me
For I am humble in spirit and so you must also be
Lo I will be with you in the midst of every test
If you run unto me, I will give you rest

I will give you rest

Hide Me In your Heart/FFH

The Ocean is deep, the mountain so high
O Lord, You are the master of wind and tide
When I am afraid, Sweet Savior come close
To you merciful one, I lift up my soul

Hide me in your heart O Lord
Hold me in your arms
Still the wind and calm the storm
Hide me in your heart

The sorrows they fill this valley so wide
And I can't help but wonder what's on the other side
But I'll trust in you, my shelter and my friend
You know that I need this comfort again

Hide me in your heart O Lord
Hold me in your arms
Still the wind and calm the storm
Hide me in your heart

Now I come to you Jesus. To look for the place
Where I first gazed upon your face
I enter your presence I realize your grace
And I find my rest in your embrace.

Hide me in your heart O Lord
Hold me in your arms
Still the wind and calm the storm
Hide me in your heart

Let Us Pray/SCC

I hear you say your heart is achin'
You've got trouble in the making
And you ask if I'd be praying for you please
And in keeping with convictions
I say here's for good intentions
To pray lately making mention of your needs

Since we have this moment here at heaven's door
We should start knocking now so what are we waiting for

Let us pray, let us pray
Everywhere and every way
Every moment of the day
It is the right time
For the father above
He is listening with love
And he wants to answer us
So let us pray

So if you feel the spirit movin'
Prompting, prodding and behooving
There is no time to be losing let us pray
Let the Father hear us saying

Let us pray, let us pray
Everywhere and every way
Every moment of the day
It is the right time
For the father above
He is listening with love
And he wants to answer us
So let us pray

Good To Me

I cry out for Your hand of mercy to heal me
I am weak, I need Your love to free me
O Lord, my rock, my strength in weakness
Come rescue me O, Lord

You are my hope
Your promise never fails me
And my desire is to follow You forever

For You are good, for You are good
for You are good to me
For You are good, for You are good,
for You are good to me!

I know this was posted recently but I wanted to sing it again...

Come, Thou Fount of every blessing,
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace;
Streams of mercy, never ceasing,
Call for songs of loudest praise.
Teach me some melodious sonnet,
Sung by flaming tongues above.
Praise the mount! I’m fixed upon it,
Mount of Thy redeeming love.

Here I raise my Ebenezer;
Here by Thy great help I’ve come;
And I hope, by Thy good pleasure,
Safely to arrive at home.
Jesus sought me when a stranger,
Wandering from the fold of God;
He, to rescue me from danger,
Interposed His precious blood.

O to grace how great a debtor
Daily I’m constrained to be!
Let Thy goodness, like a fetter,
Bind my wandering heart to Thee.
Prone to wander, Lord, I feel it,
Prone to leave the God I love;
Here’s my heart, O take and seal it,
Seal it for Thy courts above.

O that day when freed from sinning,
I shall see Thy lovely face;
Clothed then in blood washed linen
How I’ll sing Thy sovereign grace;
Come, my Lord, no longer tarry,
Take my ransomed soul away;
Send thine angels now to carry
Me to realms of endless day.

The Spirit is God's guarantee that he will give us everything he promised and that he has purchased us to be his own people. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God. Ephesians 1:14

Thanks guys, DS's finger is doing ok....though he sometimes tells me that "it feels kinda tired, Mom". He is more patient than I am and is taking in stride, as he does most things. It has put a crimp in his T-ball career this summer!

The doggy who went under the knife is my "old girl", Diamond (on the right in my avatar). She is 9 1/2 yrs. young. She just jumped the baby gate into my bedroom.....naughty girl! She's supposed to be quiet and take it easy for 2 wks.

Welcome to ElizK and Winnie!!! I'm so glad you 2 found us...feel free to join in anytime!

Jilly, thanks for posting that pic...now I don't have to dig one up:D Unfortunately, that is what I look like...although it was a bad hair day...wind, salt air and a bit of heat are not friends to hair! This was taken in the park that we just spent Memorial weekend in.

Jilly, congrats on that job!!! :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Michelle....feel better my Sweet Sis!

Did anyone watch the National Funeral today? I saw parts of it. In Honor of Pres. Reagan...his fave song.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Words: John New_ton, Ol_ney Hymns (Lon_don: W. Ol_i_ver, 1779). Ex_cept_ion: the last stan_za is by an un_known au_thor; it ap_peared as ear_ly as 1829 in the Bap_tist Song_ster, by R. Win_chell (We_thers_field, Con_nec_ti_cut), as the last stan_za of the song “Je_ru_sa_lem My Hap_py Home.”
Music: “New Bri_tain,” in Vir_gin_ia Har_mo_ny, by James P. Car_rell and Da_vid S. Clay_ton (Win_ches_ter, Vir_gin_ia: 1831) (MI_DI, score).
This is prob_ab_ly the most pop_u_lar hymn in the Eng_lish lan_guage—a tel_e_vi_sion doc_u_ment_ary was ev_en made about it. Per_haps it is be_cause its words so well de_scribe the au_thor: John New_ton was a slave trad_er be_fore com_ing to Christ. It was sung at the funeral of American president Ronald Reagan.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Amazing grace! How sweet the sound
That saved a wretch like me!
I once was lost, but now am found;
Was blind, but now I see.
’Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved;
How precious did that grace appear
The hour I first believed.
Through many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come;
’Tis grace hath brought me safe thus far,
And grace will lead me home.
The Lord has promised good to me,
His Word my hope secures;
He will my Shield and Portion be,
As long as life endures.
Yea, when this flesh and heart shall fail,
And mortal life shall cease,
I shall possess, within the veil,
A life of joy and peace.
The earth shall soon dissolve like snow,
The sun forbear to shine;
But God, Who called me here below,
Shall be forever mine.
When we’ve been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun,
We’ve no less days to sing God’s praise
Than when we’d first begun.
Jilly, praising God for His goodness to you! Loved your songs, and seeing the picture of you and Tasha.
Tash, glad your furbaby is doing well! Hope your DS feels better.
Have a blessed weekend, family!
Here's a great (and thought-provoking)song:
GRATITUDE (by Nichole Nordeman)
Send some rain
Would you send some rain?
Cause the earth is dry and needs to drink again
and the sun is high and we are sinking in the shade.
Would you send a cloud,
thunder long and loud,
Let the sky grow black and send some mercy down?
Surely you can see that we are thirsty and afraid.
But maybe not,
not today.
Maybe you'll provide in other ways.
And if that's the case...
We'll give thanks to You
with Gratitude
for lessons learned in how to thirst for you;
how to bless the very sun that warms our face
if you never send us rain.
Daily bread,
Give us daily bread.
Bless our bodies;
keep our children fed.
Fill our cups, and then fill them up again, tonight.
Wrap us up
and warm us through
tucked away beneath our sturdy roofs
Let us slumber safe from danger's view this time
Or maybe not,
not today.
Maybe you'll provide in other ways
and if that's the case...
We'll give thanks to you
with Gratitude.
A lesson learned: to hunger after You,
that a starry sky offers a better view
if no roof is overhead...
and if we never taste that bread.
Oh, the differences that often are between
everything we want and what we really need...
So, grant us peace,
Jesus, grant us peace.
Move our hearts to hear a single beat
between alibis and enemies tonight
Or maybe not,
not today.
Peace might be another world away,
and if that's the case...
We'll give thanks to You
with Gratitude
for lessons learned in how to trust in You
that we are blessed beyond what we could ever dream
in abundance or in need.
And if you never grant us peace...
But Jesus, would you please?
ElizK, that is a wonderful song! I would love to hear it, the words are terrific. Hope you are all enjoying your Friday night... God's blessing and peace upon you.
What can we say to describe just a glimpse of Your Glory
How can our words portray but a thread of Your Majesty
But still we praise our Savior in Spirit and in Truth
For we cannot say enough about You
What can we say to describe just a glimpse of Your Glory
How can our words portray but a thread of Your Majesty
But still we praise our Savior in Spirit and in Truth
For we cannot say enough about You
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah, Hallelujah
But still we praise our Savior in Spirit and in Truth
For we cannot say enough about You
Oh we cannot say... enough about you
Ohhh we cannot say...
All creatures of our God and King
Lift up your voice and with us sing
Oh, praise Him!
Alleluia!
Thou burning sun with golden beam
Thou silver moon with softer gleam
Oh, praise Him!
Oh, praise Him!
Alleluia!
Alleluia!
Alleluia!
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch fires of a hundred circling camps
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps;
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His day is marching on.
I have read a fiery Gospel writ in burnished rows of steel;
“As ye deal with My contemners, so with you My grace shall deal”;
Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with His heel,
Since God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Since God is marching on.
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat;
He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment seat;
Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet;
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me:
As He died to make men holy, let us live to make men free;
[originally As he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free]
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! While God is marching on.
He is coming like the glory of the morning on the wave,
He is wisdom to the mighty, He is honor to the brave;
So the world shall be His footstool, and the soul of wrong His slave,
Our God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Our God is marching on.
Hi Everyone!
I got back home yesterday morning from my volunteer event, I am sorry I did not post anything the other day to let you all know that I made it back okay. As soon as I got home my work called and asked me to come in for a couple of hours and when I got home from work I was sooooooo tired. I had a wonderful experience at the Transplant House and I am so glad that I got to be a part of it! We had a really good turn out of people to come and dontate items to the Transplant House. And I might even be on t.v. or in the newspaper too! They had video crew doing a story on us and our voulunteer event that we did for the Transplant House. The main thing that they were video taping was us bring in our donations into the Transplant House. It was soooooo awesome to see everyone carrying in a hand load of items into the Transplant House and by the time we got done we had made the room look like Christmas only ten times better!
