I've always related in some ways it to Jesus:

"I Need You To Turn To"

Music by Elton John
Lyrics by Bernie Taupin

You're not a ship to carry my life
You are nailed to my love in many lonely nights
I've strayed from the cottages and found myself here
For I need your love your love protects my fears

And I wonder sometimes and I know I'm unkind
But I need you to turn to when I act so blind
And I need you to turn to when I lose control
You're my guardian angel who keeps out the cold

Did you paint your smile on, well I said I knew
That my reason for living was for loving you
We're related in feeling but you're high above
You're pure and you're gentle with the grace of a dove

Morning All! :sunny:

"So teach us to number our days." Psalms 90:12

That we take not one single day for granted.

Life Means So Much/Chris Rice

Every day is a journal page
Every man holds a quill and ink
And there's plenty of room for writing in
All we do is believe and think
So will you compose a curse
Or will today bring the blessings
Fill the page with rhyming verse
Or some random sketchings

Teach us to count the days
Teach us to make the days count
Lead us in better ways
Somehow our souls forgot
Life means so much
Life means so much
Life means so much

Every day is a bank account
And time is our currency
So no one's rich, nobody's poor
We get twenty-four hours each
So how are you gonna spend
Will you invest or squander
Try to get ahead
Or help someone who's under

Teach us to count the days
Teach us to make the days count
Lead us in better ways
Somehow our souls forgot
Life means so much
Life means so much
Life means so much

Has anybody lived who knew the value of a life
And didn't He give His own
To show the worth of yours and mine?

Teach us to count the days
Teach us to make the days count
Lead us in better ways
Somehow our souls forgot
Life means so much
Life means so much
Life means so much

Every day is a gift you've been given,
Make the most of the time every minute you're living

Good Morning Everyone!

I'mmmmmm Baaaaaaaaaack!!!!! Did you miss me? :teeth: Even though I was only gone for one day, it felt like forever!

Goodbye princess: Sis. :wave2: I hope you have a wonderful weekend at Universal and we will see you when you get back! And I love the song you posted!

And I hope you all have a wonderful long weekend! :)

Lay It All On The Line/ 4-Him

So don't go wastin' your time
Holding on to your life
There are treasures that I have possessed
Meant the world to me
But they never filled the emptiness
I needed something more than these
In the middle of my wilderness
God reached down to me
When I let go to His tenderness
I found this life was more than I ever dreamed

CHORUS

So don't go wastin' your time
Holding on to your life
Just lay it all on the line
Gotta make up your mind
There can be no more compromise
Just lay it all on the line

It's a matter of surrendering
Every hidden fear
And by letting go of everything
Jesus will meet you there
In the heart of every one of us
There's a call to faith
Even though we'll never measure up
That's why the Savior, that's why the Savior came

CHORUS

CHORUS

BRIDGE

Gone are the days of holding on
This is the time to surrender
Now is the moment you've got to let it go
Just let it go (repeat)
Don't go wastin' your time
Gotta make up your mind
There can be no more compromise
Just lay it all on the line

CHORUS

CHORUS

Hey! :wave2: Sorry I have been such a stranger. I came to read a couple of times last week and wanted to post somewhere around Thursday-ish...BUT... I had some things to add about the old time CCM and hopefully I can do that today! :)

Seriously, I am exhausted. I'm with you princess: about it finally being Saturday, but for different reasons...I need a day of rest! Methinks today I will have to be satisfied with just a morning of rest because once I get off of here I have things to do!
(BTW princess: I have to have a serious talk with you about that worship guy!!!!! You can lure me with Bryan ANYTIME, but that guy..well you know...he :scared: ET, phone home creeps me out!!!! :p) Thanks for the 's and the lures and for missing me you guys! After next week things should be slowing down a bit here and the :fish: will be swimming here again more often!

Jeanne, I cried at that Mercy Me song. I have none of their CD's but I hear them a lot on the radio. They have great lyrics and I like what I have heard on the radio music-wise. My friend Vinny is not doing well at all. Vinny broke down on the phone the other day talking about his girls...thank God He gave me the words to say and I held it together...until I got off the phone. Please pray for him. He is at a very touch-and-go spot in his battle with Cancer. He has been told to "make memories" with his family, but he hasn't been well enough to get out of the hospital. We have superbox seats at the the Phillies (baseball)waiting for his family to go to when he is up to it. They are an awesome ball club! Please pray he'll get to do this. We (some church members)have been working on many opportunities for people to minister to them.

I have also been busy because my niece was here for four days and next week she'll be here for two. She is at work a lot of the time but I get her meals together and help her stay on schedule with that and I drive her to work and it just takes extra time. I love being with her though. Let's see, what else? Two of my kids have birthdays in the spring and my family is just LOADED with May/June birthdays...then there are school projects, concerts, picnics, trips, meetings...AND I'm getting ready with rehearsals for MY big workday..Children's Sunday, June 13th! I can't believe June is almost here! We literally have not been home long enough to catch our breath...except for meals...thanks to my niece...where we have HAD to be more deliberate, healthy and scheduled this week especially! If she hadn't been here we probably would have rotated between pizza and Wendy's all week!
I am registering for a course this summer and still waiting to hear back about the second interview I had. It went well though. I have been experiencing great peace in this area, knowing that God will place me right where he wants me! This week too I have been really focusing on handing some other things over to the Lord...and trying to experience His peace in these things as well. I think that the things I find most difficult to hand over are things where I see people hurting so much. God is teaching me how to lay people at his feet and to come and really rest in Him too...then we are all where we should be! ;)
One more thing...please pray for a chronic health condition of mine that has returned. I have a form of painful migraines called "Cluster headaches" and they can hit everyday (or night) one or more times for one to three months. Please pray that this will be a short cycle.

So, in a nutshell, (a busting open nutshell) that's where I've been!

It feels so good to be here today and to know I can always come here and sing and be sung to with beautiful, wonderful words of life!

Jeanne, I hope we can do Hershey and meet up with you one of the days you're there. Pop me an email and let me know when you are thinking so I can get it on the calendar. jbarbermom@yahoo.com I wish more people could come!
princess: I think you can fly Southwest for like between 29 and 59 $ each way NOW TO PHILLY! I'll pick you up at the airport and you can sleep in my computer room where my niece hangs out when she comes over! No excuses girl! It's just a plane afterall...not an evil, scary worship guy! It's no worse than riding Mission Space! I hope you're having a great time at Universal this weekend! Looking forward to hearing about it when you get back!

Well I think I better post again to add a song or two...this post has gotten too long and I don't want to risk losing it!

Just got back from the March for Jesus. We handed out Red carnations with John14:6 printed on tags hanging on them. We danced, shouted and praised HIS name throughout the streets of NY and PA! How wonderful to share in this Fellowship time!
God bless you all, and may He keep you safe this holiday weekend. Enjoy!

Hi Jeanne and :sunny:! So great to hear about the March Jeanne! That is so cool! What an awesome experience that must've been! Have a supper weekend!

Walk With Me/Caedmon's Call

Walk with me quiet, walk with me slow
With watered down coffee and words of gold
I can feel the edges of these things
When I hear you speak to me, so walk with me

Walk with me empty, walk with me strong
The hush of our voices, when the day seems so long
It is like a balm, it is like a jewel
It unravels all I thought I knew

Will you lead me, beside the still waters
Where the oil, it runs over, and my cup overflows
You restore my soul

Tell me the story, where old is made new
The promise of ages, and all things that are true
When the shadows fall and the wrecking ball
Swings and tears me through the heart

Will you lead me, beside the still waters
Where the oil, it runs over, and my cup overflows
You restore my soul

Will you lead me, beside the still waters
Where the oil, it runs over, and my cup overflows
You restore my soul

Voice of Truth/Casting Crowns

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of faith it takes to climb out of this boat I'm in
On to the crashing waves

To step out of my comfort zone
Into the realm of the unknown where Jesus is
And He's holding out His hand

But the waves are calling out my name and they laugh at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The waves they keep on telling me
Time and time again, "Boy, You'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand

But the giant's calling out my name and he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again, "Boy, You'll never win!"
"You'll never win!"

But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves aren't looking so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me

But the Voice of Truth tells me a different story
The Voice of Truth says, "Do not be afraid!"
And the Voice of Truth says, "This is for My glory"
Out of all the voices calling out to me
I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

I will choose to listen and believe the Voice of Truth

Hi Jilly :fish: ! It's soooooooo good to see you, I missed you! ::yes::  It sounds like you have been very very very busy, I hope things slow down a bit for you. So you have time to rest and so you can hang out with us more often. ::yes:: I am glad to hear things are going good for Jess and I am still keeping her in my prayers, along with your friend Vinny. And I hope you get good news back from your second job interview, but just remember if it does not work out that just means something even better is going to come your way. I will keep you in my prayers. I am so sorry you are having such bad headaches, I hope they so away very soon. Here is a great big  for you.

Oh bye the way I used the little worship guy :worship: too, so if you are going to have a serious talk with princess: I should be in the dog house too! :teeth: :p ;) LOL

And I sure wish I could come to your guy's meet! ::yes:: Could you swing by MN and pick me up, please?

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!

As far as the old time CCM goes...all of the groups mentioned were and still are unique and unsurpassed. As far as CC Rock goes, old time Petra IS the ROCK. Mylon Lefevre and Degarmo and Key did rock well too. I liked the Imperials when Russ Taff and Paul Smith were singing with them and and early White Heart albums and GLAD which has morphed in music styles more than any group, I think! I still like them even though they are now in tuxes with primarily acapella music! Of course Sweet Comfort band whose lead singer for a while was BRYAN DUNCAN was great, and Bryan's solo carreer is still going strong.

I have always appreciated a wide variety of music styles and find that strong lyrics matter the most to me from hymns, to old CCM, to current CCM. There are more groups coming up with stronger lyrics. Aside from the ones Michelle and others listed, I like (for a good blend of sound and strong lyrics) FFH and Big Daddy Weave as well as Caedmon's Call, 4HIM (older) and many others. I love P&W but also don't like it when a million artists have to come out with a P&W CD. I love that P&W is becoming more and more diversified and more music is out there than ever! Michelle, Sheila Walsh is now affiliated with Women of Faith and has a Celtic album out.

Our radio station has a time warp lunch hour on Tuesdays and Thursdays where a lot of old stuff is played. However recently they have been more into playing stuff from 1994 since they are having their 10th anniversay this year.

Does anyone remember any of these?
Morgan Cryar
Brent Lamb
Michelle Pillar
Harvest
Wayne Watson (still Going strong)
Leslie Philips
Margaret Becker
Benny Hester
Chris Christian
David Meece
Servant
Stryper
Idle Cure
Michael Card (still writing and recording I think)
Rez Band
Steve Taylor (Now writing for the Newsboys)

psst...Hey, Sarah...BOO!!!!!

Hey Tash and Jen and sherre and herc and anybody else...we'll have a BBQ-meet in my backyard b4 we go visit Jeanne in Hershey! LOL I was mostly teeasing princess: because she won't fly! I guess princesses don't fly so that's why they get stuck in those high towers! :p  Have a great weekend :sunny: and everyone!

Mine is working just fine for me. What usually happens to me is, this screen pops up and tells me that I have a new PM. And then it asks do you want to view it now in a new window. Then a little bit latter is when I get a email sent to me tell me that I have a new PM.

My pop-up notification for PMs has not been working for Soooooooooooooooooooo long! :headache: Kind of annoying!!

Hey Fur, it's good to see you! ::yes::
