for those that haven't been to ep III yet, skip this unless you want a little inside baseball.....

h-m, it took me about twenty minutes on the ride home to realize what "training" qui-gon had for obi-wan. but when i realized he was talking about communicating from the beyond, i was like yeah, he's gonna need that later. it is also neat how we know that anakin is redeemed later and like us can never really fall from grace. i can not wait for december 9th, i'm not sure which i liked reading better, lord of the rings, or chronicles of narnia. i guess i've read the chronicles more times. i hope they do the same as lotr and release them every year, i don't know that i can stand a two to three year wait between each one.

Hi Hemi-Mom, Just wanted to wish you a Happy Belated Birthday! Hope you had a wonderful day with family & friends. I am a huge Newsboys fans and they will be here on June the 14th for Riverbend, already have my armbands, it is the only night I like to go to Riverbend (faith & family night). Have extra armbands if anyone is going to be in Chattanooga I'll give them to you.

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. We have a family reunion Saturday and then VBS starts at church on Sunday night. My DH will be assisting with the teaching and I am a helper so please pray for us as next week will be very busy.

Get Down - Audio Adrenaline

Lavishly our lives are wasted
Humbleness is left untasted
You can't live your life to please yourself, yeah
That's a tip from my mistake
Exactly what it doesn't take
To win you've got to come in last place.
To live your life you've got to lose it
And all the losers get a crown.

CHORUS:
I get down, and he lifts me up
I get down, and he lifts me up
I get down, and he lifts me up
I get down

All I need's another day
Where I can't seem to get away
>From the many things that drag me down, yeah
I'm sure you've had a day like me
Where nothing seems to set you free
>From the burdens you can't carry all alone

In your weakness He is stronger
In your darkness He shines through
When you're crying He's your comfort
When you're all alone He's carrying you

CHORUS

This valley is so deep
I can barely see the sun
I cry out for mercy Lord
And You lift me up again

CHORUS

Hey you guys! :)

Thanks for the great songs you've been singing!

Jill and Phil, I saw Episode III as well and thought it was great! My favorite. It explained a lot about the other movies.

I hope you had a most excellent birthday, Jill! :)

Christy, I pray that many come to know Jesus and that many are encouraged in their faith during your VBS!

Light of the world
You stepped out into darkness
Opened my eyes, let me see
Beauty that made this heart adore You
Hope of a life spent with You

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh so highly exalted
Glorious in heaven above
Humbly You came to the earth You created
And all for love's sake became poor

Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

I came across this the other day. It's just beautiful, and reminds me of my boys. It's by Kristen Chenoweth.

Borrowed Angels

The ones with souls so beautiful
I heard someone say--

There must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life
They come along, into this world, and make this world bright
But they can't stay forever
Cause they're heaven sent
And sometimes, heaven needs them back again

They reach a little deeper, they see what's in your soul
And even when they leave you know, you'll never let them go
The world's a little richer, just cause they came along
Their love goes on and on, so why do they go so soon?
The ones with souls so beautiful. I heard someone say--

There must be Borrowed Angels, here in this life
They come along, into this world, and make this world bright
They can't stay forever, cause they're heaven sent
And sometimes, heaven needs them back again

How else can you explain why they're here and not here to stay?
I believe there must be, must be

Borrowed Angels, here in this life
They come along, into this world, and make this world bright
But they can't stay forever, cause there heaven sent
And sometimes heaven needs them back again.
And sometimes heaven needs them back again.

As we lift up our hands
Will You meet us here
As we call on Your name
Will You meet us here
We have come to this place
To worship You
God of mercy and grace

It is You
We adore
It is You
Praises are for
Only You
The heavens declare
It is You
It is You

And holy, holy is our God Almighty
And holy, holy is His name alone, yeah
And holy, holy is our God Almighty
And holy, holy is His name alone

It is You
We adore
It is You

As we lift up our hands
As we call on Your name
Will you visit this place
By Your mercy and grace

Good Afternoon Everyone.....kind of cloudy outside here so here's some :sunny: ! Hope everyone is doing great!

Accapella - If There Were No God

If there were no God there would be no music
There would be no dream to be dreaming of
What a dreadful thought of an empty future
If there were no God there would be no love

If there were no God there would be no children
There would be no joy to relieve our tears
Not a tender hand to provide us comfort
No consoling heart to subdue our fears

CHORUS:
But we know that God is with us
And we know His majesty
Reigning now, the King eternal
Yes we know the victory

If there were no God there would be no sunshine
There would be no rain to refresh the earth
There would be no jewels to display their value
There would be no thought of enduring words

If there were no God there'd be no creation
There would be no light there would be no breath
No surpassing joy nothing in existence
If there were no God all would be death

CHORUS (2x)

Yes we know, yes we know the victory
Yes we know the victory

Hello all!!!!! Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend! :sunny:

Kutlass - Word of God Speak

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay
The last thing I need is to be heard
But to hear what You would say

[CHORUS]
Word of God speak
Would You pour down like rain
Washing my eyes to see
Your majesty
To be still and know
That You're in this place
Please let me stay and rest
In Your holiness
Word of God speak

I'm finding myself in the midst of You
Beyond the music, beyond the noise
All that I need is to be with You
And in the quiet hear Your voice

[REPEAT CHORUS 2x]

I'm finding myself at a loss for words
And the funny thing is it's okay

a big howdy to ya'll,

cristy, i am so glad to hear that good report from your vbs, it is so fun to have a hand in changing young lives.

we put a wrap on our vbs today, we had over 2200 kids from nursery/ preschool to 5th grade. running almost over capacity, which created many opportunities for my dw and her staff. talk about having to adjust on the fly. we used the serengeti trek curriculum, which includes some great new songs for the kids. things ran great, and over 250 kids made decisions during the last two days. i'll have to ask her how many of those accepted Christ. we also have a friendly competition amongst our groups in the kindergarten through 4th graders, to see who can give the most offering by weight, this is where i come in, i have become the commishioner of change, we sell penny rolls to the kids on their way in to the auditorium and then when they go out i weigh the barrels and we post the results at the end of the morning when they come back in. the money goes to missions, this year we are supporting our team in ghana, who just left yesterday to work there. the change selling starts out slow, but just gets crazy by the last day, with several people sending checks for $100 to change into pennies and two mothers turned in checks for $500 and $600. in fact we started with $2000 worth of penny rolls on tuesday, which we recover as much of as they don't tear open and resell, but this year for the first time we sold out this morning and had to write i o u 's for weight. it was quite a job, managing this process, but i am happy to report that total weight collected for the week was over 4600 pounds of currency. i talked to our ghana team leader yesterday and he told me that to build one of the two churches that we are building over there will cost $9 -10 thousand, by my estimate, since we don't have the final numbers from the bank, our kids gave enough money to cover the cost of one church, plus buying wheelchairs for some kids that need them. next year we start with $3000 in pennies. it was just an incredible week, and a joy to be around so many young lives being impacted for the lord.

our god is an awesome god,
he reigns from heaven above,
with wisdom, power and love.
our god is an awesome god.

We will worship the Lamb of Glory
We will worship the King of kings
We will worship the Lamb of Glory
We will worship the King

And with our hands lifted high we come before You and sing
With our hands lifted high we come before You rejoicing
With our hands lifted high to the sky
When the world wonders why
We'll just tell them we're loving our King

Good afternoon Christian Music fans! We are looking to add a little challege between the group threads in the next round of WPASADI!

Do you guys think you have what it takes to have one of your members come out as the ULTIMATE DISer?

Hey pogopossum,

What an amazing number of young people for VBS, I guess we ran around 100 each day which is high. Our average attendance on Sundays is 250+ adults & children included. We also do the weight thing with the pennies......this is so exciting for the kids. How great that they raised enough to build a mission church!!!!! Our church is very missions minded too, I think we have 92 or 93 that we support now......the amount of our mission giving amazes me as we aren't a really large church. If you have a chance, check us out on the web
www.pineygrovebc.com

Our VBS theme was Jungle Adventure which is right up my DS's ally as he loves animals. DD2 has been singing Whose the King of the Jungle and Oh, Oh, Oh Give Thanks all week.

Just wanted to tell you that I think you guys did an awesome job!!!! Keep up the good work......we may never know on this side of heaven how many we reach by just reaching one!

Looking forward to seeing these guys tomorrow night at Riverbend!!!!!

Newsboys - I'm Not Ashamed

CHORUS:
I'm not ashamed to let you know
I want this light in me to show
I'm not ashamed to speak the name of Jesus Christ

What are we sneaking around for?
Who are we trying to please?
Shrugging off sin,
apologizing like we're spreading
some kind of disease
I'm saying >No way. No way.<

CHORUS

This one warns it's a lost cause
save your testimonies for churchtime
The other ones state you'd better wait
until you do a little market research
I'm saying >No way. No way.<

CHORUS(x4..)

cristy,

that is great. i will check out your site, ours is www.lakepointe.org.
newsboys are coming to our town this month for our freedom festival. we do ours the last weekend of june, i guess to avoid competing with everybody else's july 4th celebrations. it will be interesting to see how the reception is for them, since this is technically a city sponsored event. normally we have country acts one night and oldies rock the other, but this time it is country with daryl "have you forgotten" worley and andy griggs on sat, and newsboys with a local act on sun. i guess i'll go out and check them out.

keep messin' with those little minds, i can't think of a better way to change the world.

GO BEARS!!! return trip to omaha, let's finish it this time.

Hey pogopossum,

Your church website is great! Wow! You all have a lot going on, so many missions trips, I would love to go on one to China. That is what our VBS funds went toward this year, one of our college students is going on a summer mission trip to China so the offering helped to pay her way. Lake Pointe sounds very familiar to me, do you have a radio or TV ministry? I listen to Moody radio daily and am not sure if I heard it there or on our sateliette. What an outstanding outreach you all have there, from 58 average to 5,000+........praise the Lord!

The last few years our Riverbend Festival (10 day event) has turned Tuesdays into Faith & Family night with Carman there one year, Michael W. Smith was there last year. In the past the city has always said no alter call, no presentation of the way to salvation, of course Carman did one, you can't ask him to speak and not present the gospel. This year however, there are no corporate sponsors, it's all being funded by local churchs so they are encouraging all the artists to give the plan of salvation and an alter call. Would appreciate prayers for those in attendance.

Let It Go - Newsboys

You are waiting on a beach
For a healing word to come
Maybe an apology in a bottle
Maybe a flare that says, >I'm sorry<
And the hurting leaves you numb

Will you forgive?
Will you forget?
Will you live what you know?
He left his rights
Will you leave yours?
You don't understand it
Let it go

You are waiting on a beach
This is where the east meets west
And as another sun sets on your anger
The darkness laughs, as the world destroys
And it turns your prayers to noise

Will you forgive?
Will you forget?
Will you live what you know?
He left his rights
Will you leave yours?
You won't understand it
Let it go

This bitterness you hide
It seeps into your soul
And it steals your joy
'Til it's all you know
Let it go

Will you forgive?
Will you forget?
Will you live what you know?
He left his rights
Will you leave yours?
You don't understand it
Let it go

Will you forgive?
Will you forget?
Will you live what you know?
Beneath the cross
You hear His words,
>Father, forgive them,<
And you know
You can't understand it
Let it go

Good morning all! :sunny: Think I probably posted this a few songs up but had to post it again after the concert last night. The Newsboys were FANTASTIC. This is the song they closed with.......it was so cool.....have never seen a concert end this way... They got the audience really worshipping through this song and singing along and then the music continued as the audience sang and theY quietly exited the stage. Kind as if they were wanting to Lord to be praised and glorified and not them. They didn't come out after to take any of the credit or applause or anything. I was really impressed......also with Peter's testimony (he grew up as a PK). Concert was outside at Riverbend Festival and it was so neat to see so many people of various ages and denominations worshipping together!!!!!

The Newsboys - It Is You

As we lift up our hands
Will you meet us here?
As we call on your name
Will you meet us here?
We have come to this place
To worship you
God of mercy and grace

It is you
We adore
It is you
Praises are for
Only you
The heaven's declare
It is you
It is you

Holy, holy is our God Almighty
Holy, holy is his name alone
Holy, holy is our God Almighty
Holy, holy is his name alone

:sunny: Good Thursday morning all!!!!! :sunny:

Newsboys - Take Me To Your Leader

Isabelle is a belly dancer
With a kleptomaniac's restraint
Tried stealing Helena's hand basket, made a fast getaway,
But McQueen she ain't
At the courtroom Joshua judges her ruthlessly
On account of Ruth walking out on him
In the Big House Isabelle is a-telling all
To the chaplain who's become her friend

She says:
I don't know why you care
I don't know what's out there
I don't know where or how
Just take me to your leader now
Take me to your leader now

Justin is adjustin' to
The odor from Theodore's evergreen incense
But aroma therapy don't make him any younger
Than Oliver's all liver supplements
His late mate Merrilee merrily said immortality
Can't be bought ina jar
This just in: Justin's had enough of cure-alls,
Gonna quiz the neighbor kid with the fish on his car

He says:
I don't know why you care
I don't know what's out there
I don't know how it's done
Just take me to your leader, son

I see you've got the joy
I've seen you live it, boy

It's real, it's free, it's fun
So take me to your leader, son
Take me to your leader, son

They don't know why we care
They don't know what's out there
They don't know how it's done
Let's take 'em to our Leader's Son

They see we've got the joy
They see us live it, oi
It's real, it's free, it's fun
Let's take 'em to our Leader's Son

YAY for all of the salvations at VBS!! Woohooo! That is awesome!

Cristy, that sounds like such a good concert! I love how they ended it. :)

Thanks for the wonderful VBS reports! PRAISE GOD!!

I can just hear the Newsboys singing that and walking off the stage like that with everyone still worshipping...that is one on my favorite Newsboys songs and it is so cool to imagine them doing that! What an awesome time you must have had!

JOY/Newsboys

If life is water, I was dry as the Tucson dirt
If it's a gamble, I'd already lost my shirt
If it's a journey, I was dazed without a clue
I flipped a "U" back to the first love I ever knew

CHORUS
You give me joy that's unspeakable
And I like it, and I like it yeah
Your love for me is irresistible
I can't fight it, I can't fight it yeah
You carried the cross and took my shame
I believe it, I believe it yeah
You shine your light of amazing grace
I receive it, I receive it yeah

If life's a battle, the invasion is complete
If it's a rhythm, I have found the perfect beat
If it's a renaissance, I've got a new birthday
The world don't give it
And the world can't take it away

CHORUS

Bowed and broken, everything's new
All that I need, you're like water to seed
And how your love, rights everything wrong
In my weakness
You're ever stronger, you're pulling me back
Where I belong

CHORUS
