I danced in the morning when the world was begun,
And I danced in the moon and the stars and the sun,
And I came down from heaven and I danced on the earth,
At Bethlehem I had my birth.

Refrain

Dance, then, wherever you may be;
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.
And I’ll lead you all wherever you may be,
And I’ll lead you all in the dance, said he.

I danced for the scribe and the Pharisee,
But they would not dance and they would not follow me;
I danced for the fishermen, for James and John;
They came to me and the dance went on.

Refrain

I danced on the sabbath when I cured the lame,
The holy people said it was a shame;
They whipped and they stripped and they hung me high;
And they left me there on a cross to die.

Refrain

I danced on a Friday and the sky turned black;
It’s hard to dance with the devil on your back;
They buried my body and they thought I’d gone,
But I am the dance and I still go on.

Refrain

They cut me down and I leapt up high,
I am the life that’ll never, never die;
I’ll live in you if you’ll live in me;
I am the Lord of the Dance, said he.

Refrain

"Tomorrow morning," the surgeon began,

"I'll open up your heart."

"You'll find JESUS there," the boy interrupted.

The surgeon looked up, annoyed. "I'll cut your

heart open," he continued, "to see how much

damage has been done."

"But when you open up my heart, you'll

find JESUS in there."

The surgeon looked to the parents, who sat

quietly. "When I see how much damage has

been done, I'll sew you heart and chest back

up and I'll plan what to do next."

"But you'll find JESUS in my heart. The Bible

says HE lives there. The hymns all say HE

lives there. You'll find HIM in my heart."

The surgeon had enough. "I'll tell you what

I'll find in your heart. I'll find damaged muscle,

low blood supply, and weakened vessels. And

I'll find out if I can make you well."

"You'll find JESUS there too. HE lives there."

The surgeon sat in his office, recording his notes

from the surgery,"...damaged aorta, damaged

pulmonary vein, widespread muscle degeneration.

No hope for transplant, no hope for cure.

Therapy: painkillers and bed rest.

Prognosis: death within one year."

He stopped the recorder, but there was more

to be said. "Why?" he asked aloud. "Why did

YOU do this? YOU'VE put him here; YOU'VE

put him in this pain; and YOU'VE cursed him

to an early death. Why?"

The LORD answered and said, "The boy,

MY lamb, was not meant for your flock for long,

for he is part of MY flock, and will forever be.

Here, in MY flock, he will feel no pain, and will

be comforted as you cannot imagine. His parents

will one day join him here, and they will know

peace, and MY flock will continue to grow."

The surgeon's tears were hot, but his anger was

hotter. "YOU created that boy, and YOU created

that heart. He'll be dead in months. Why?"

The LORD answered, "The boy, MY lamb,

shall return to MY flock, for he has done his

duty; I did not put MY lamb with your flock

to loose him, but to retrieve another lost lamb."

The surgeon wept.

The surgeon sat beside the boy's bed; the

boy's parents sat across from him. The boy

awoke and whispered, "Did you cut open

my heart?" "Yes," said the surgeon.

"What did you find?" asked the boy.

"I found JESUS there," said the surgeon.

That gave me chills.. what a great reminder that we are here to do HIS will, not to do ours...

Thanks.

S.C. that is a great story you posted. :)

I just wanted to say goodbye to everyone. I'm leaving in a couple of hours for WDW and I'm never coming back! :p Just kidding, I'll be back Friday afternoon. :)

I hope you all have a wonderful, blessed week! :wave2:

~MICHELLE~ Going to WDW till Friday! WOOHOO! Have fun sis! Make sure you ride Mission Space if you haven't already. I came on last week and saw your prayer request and I have been praying for you and will continue to do so. And...

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!! :jumping1:
I wanted to get here on Friday and wish you a happy Birthday but I couldn't! SO here it is now...maybe someone started a birthday thread for you somewhere but I didn't get there either so I'm sending you this belated wish now!!! :teeth:

I pray everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! It's so good to see some new posters to this thread...S.C. , cheering mom, zen...keep posting! S.C., I loved that story above, and cheering mom I love Come to the Water We used to sing that at summer camp!

All of the music has been so uplifting...I have been reading but have had NO TIME to post until now!

So, here are some songs for Advent/Christmas...one traditional and one not!

Come, Thou Long Expected Jesus

Come, Thou long expected Jesus
Born to set Thy people free;
From our fears and sins release us,
Let us find our rest in Thee.
Israel’s strength and consolation,
Hope of all the earth Thou art;
Dear desire of every nation,
Joy of every longing heart.

Born Thy people to deliver,
Born a child and yet a King,
Born to reign in us forever,
Now Thy gracious kingdom bring.
By Thine own eternal Spirit
Rule in all our hearts alone;
By Thine all sufficient merit,
Raise us to Thy glorious throne.

Adoration/Newsboys

I’m here with the others
Who saw the heavens testify
Now I hang back in the shadows
I want to come close
I want to know
She sees me shivering here
She smiles and with a nod
I walk through the mud and straw
To the newborn Son of God

Come, let us adore Him
He has come down to this barren land
Where we live
And all I have to give Him
Is adoration

He raises a wrinkled hand
Through the dust and the flies
Wrapped in rags like we are
And with barely open eyes
He takes my finger
And He won’t let go
And He won’t let go
It’s nothing like I knew before
And it’s all I need to know

Come, let us adore Him
He has come down to the world we live in
And all I have to give Him
Is adoration

God is with us here
Our Immanuel
God is with us here
Our Immanuel

O come let us adore Him
O come let us adore Him
Jesus, our Immanuel
Is with us here and He won’t let go

SC thank you for the post. Out of the mouth of babes......

And have a good time at WDW Princess Michelle. Wish I was going back!!!\

Hemimom, that is where I learned that song too!!

Hello everyone!

I hope everyone had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving!

A little story and another of those "coincidences" ;)

I'm leading an "ALPHA" course that introduces Christianity to people. It's a 15 week and we're on week 13. Many of the people have come to Christ over the past 13 weeks. Tonight's lesson is about Healing. There is no outline of questions to ask, just a time of ministry and prayer for healing.

This particular week has been on my mind for many weeks. The questions that the people in the class ask can be daunting. I've been worried that there would be debates as to why God doesn't always heal. I've done a lot of praying and more studying on this subject than any of the others because it can be such a stumbling block for new Christians.

Anyway, nothing in my studies has giving me a solid answer for the cynicism that goes with this subject.

I clicked on this thread today and that beautiful story that S. C. posted just gave me the chills.

Throughout this course, everytime I've been called to step outside my "box" and comfort level, the Lord has been faithful. I've been reading and searching and I come here to just see some nice music and the Lord has shown His faithfulness once more in a beautiful story (I hope you don't mind if I share it tonight.)

Praise God! And thank you all so much for this thread.

It's so good to see everybody!

Jill, girl it seems like I haven't seen you in forever! Good to see ya, sis! :)

You guys, let's keep Edie in our prayers. In case you didn't see her other thread, she's having a hard time right now with the holidays and her boys.

Jesus Jesus
Your name is like honey on my lips
Your Spirit's like water to my soul
Your Word is a lamp unto my feet
Jesus I love You
I love you

I know this has been posted before but we sang this at church this past Sunday and it never fails to bring a tear to my eye much like "Shout To The Lord". I hope everyone feels His comforting touch this week.

I can only imagine what it will be like,
When I walk by Your side.
I can only imagine what my eyes will see,
When Your face is before me:
I can only imagine.

Surrounded by Your glory,
What will my heart feel?
Will I dance for you Jesus?
Or in awe of You be still?
Will I stand in Your presence?
Or to my knees will I fall?
Will I sing Hallelujah?
Will I be able to speak at all?
I can only imagine.

I can only imagine when that day comes,
And I find myself standing in the Son.
I can only imagine when all I would do,
Is forever, forever worship You.

Yeah, I can only imagine.

(Can you imagine?)
I can only imagine.

I can only imagine. (Can you imagine?)
I can only imagine. (I can imagine.)

I can only imagine.
I can only imagine.

I came across this thread today. I have so much to be thankful for-but most of all for Jesus!! Thank you for starting such an inspirational thread!!

I love this song....

You said You'd come and share all my sorrows
You said You'd be there for all my tomorrows
I came so close to sending You away
But just like You promised You came there to stay
I just had to pray

And Jesus said, "Come to the water, stand by My side,
I know you are thirsty, you won't be denied
I felt ev'ry teardrop when in darkness you cried,
And I strove to remind you that for those tears I died."

Your goodness so great I can't understand,
And, dear Lord, I know that all this was planned;
I know You're here now and always will be,
Your love loosed my chains and in You I'm free
But Jesus, why me?

Jesus, I give You my heart and my soul
I know that without God I'd never be whole;
Savior, You opened all the right doors,
And I thank You and praise You from earth's humble shores
Take me, I'm Yours

This is one of my favorite songs - I sing it when I'm walking, when I'm driving, etc.... I often sing the last verse w/tears streaming down. :)

Mary Jo :)

Another one of my favorites is "Pass it On"

"It only takes a spark to get a fire going.
And soon all those around, can warm up in glowing.
That's how it is with God's love,
Once you've experienced it, you spread His love to everyone;
You want to pass it on.

What a wondrous time is spring, when all the trees are budding;
The birds begin to sing, the flowers start their blooming.
That's how it is with God's love;
Once you've experienced it, you want to sing
"It's fresh like spring"; you want to pass it on.

I wish for you my friend, this happiness that I've found.
You can depend on Him, it matters not where you're bound.
I'll shout it from the mountain top - PRAISE GOD
I want the world to know; the Lord of love has come to me,
I want to pass it on."

I was listening to our local christian radio station this am (can't remember the pastor's name :( ) and he was asking how was I going to pass on the true meaning of Christmas this year to others? Hmm. something to pray about.

Love all these songs... Keep on singing to the LORD!

Let's Just Praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord.

Let's Just Lift Our Hands Toward Heaven,
And Praise the Lord.

Let's Just Praise the Lord,
Praise the Lord.

Let's Just Lift Our Hands Toward Heaven
And Praise the Lord.

Praying for you Edie!! :grouphug:

and  to Jennifer you sweet, sweet sister...love ya! ;) I hope you got my snail mail note. :teeth:

Hi MaryJo...that truly is such a cool song...ANY song about water and Jesus are in my favs catergory!

DUDE thanks for reposting that one...you can never post songs here too often!

Cheeringmom...great thought to pray on! Along those lines, please pray for a patron of our church's Nursery School who is having some issues with an Advent Devotional that was handed out...she was concerned about some pretty benign items that talked about SIN, Jesus' Death, and Mary's virginity and questioning them being appropriate for 4-year-olds... please pray that when she meets with leaders to discuss these things that her heart would be open to the truth and the message of the Gospel that goes beyond the babe in the manger...even for little ones!

I love the songs from the past cheeringmom and Jeanne! Anybody remember this oldie?

Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee

My momma taught me how to pray
Before I reached the age of seven
When I'm down on my knees
That's when I'm closest to heaven
Daddy lived his life, two kids and a wife
Well you do what you must do
But he showed me enough of what it takes
To get me through, oh yeh!

Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who stilled the water
Put your hand in the hand of the man
Who calmed the sea
Take a look at yourself
And you can look at others differently
Put your hand in the hand of the man from Galilee

Hey Dude!

My Jesus, my Savior,
Lord there is none like You
All of my days, I want to praise
the wonders of your mighty Love
My comfort, my shelter
Tower of refuge and strength
let every breath, all that I am
never cease to worship You!

Shout to the Lord all the earth let us sing
Power and majesty, praise to the King
Mountains bow down and the seas will roar
at the sound of your name
I sing for joy at the work of Your hands
forever I’ll love you forever I’ll stand
nothing compares to the promise I have in You

and I'm reaching out to hug you all!!

Thanks for all of the prayers, PMs and good thoughts. Things are getting better or maybe God is helping me to accept a situation that I'd never thought I'd face!

DS#1 and future daughter-in-law and DS#2 were all home for Thanksgiving. I'd like to say that it was a wonderful time -- but it was okay. Holidays are really brutal for anyone who is separated or divorced. Please, if you are close to anyone in this situation, please remember them over Christmas with an invitatiion, a card or a phone call!

WE FALL DOWN

Passion Worship Band - WE FALL DOWN
From the album - WOW WORSHIP
Label - Integrity (2001)

We fall down
We lay our crowns
At the feet of Jesus
The greatness of
Mercy and love
At the feet of Jesus

And we cry holy holy holy
And we cry holy holy holy
And we cry holy holy holy
Is the Lamb

In Him,
Edie

Holy, You are still holy
Even when the darkness surrounds my life
Sovereign, You are still sovereign
Even when confusion has blinded my eyes

Lord I don't deserve Your kind affection
When my unbelief has kept me from Your touch
I want my life to be a pure reflection
Of Your Love

So I come into Your chambers
And I dance at Your feet, Lord
You are my Savior
And I'm at Your mercy
All that has been in my life up to now
Belongs to You
For You are still holy

I come into Your chambers
And I dance at Your feet, Lord
You are my Savior
And I'm at Your mercy
All that has been in my life up to now
Belongs to You
For You are still holy

Oh, that is a great song! Who sings that one, Jen?

I am so blessed to be surrounded by you all....

In Him,

Hey Jeanne. :) Rita Springer sings You are Still Holy. I really like that song. Such a song of surrender and worship.

I hope everyone is having a good day! :)
