You loved me,when I was so unlovely,
You sought me, when I was lost;
You showed me how much you really loved me,
when you bought me at the highest cost.

You chose me, when I was so unworthy,
You cleansed me with Your own blood;
You clothed me with righteousness and mercy,
and You crowned me with Your steadfast love.

There's no greater love than this,
there's no greater love than this,
that a man would give his life for a friend;
there's no higher sacrifice than a man would give his life,
You have paid a precious price for me.

In keeping with the Vacation Bible School trend we seem to have going on here...

BIBLE!

Jesus loves me, this I know
For the Bible tells me so
Little ones to Him belong
They are weak but He is strong
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
Yes, Jesus loves me
The Bible tells me so

Hes, I hadn't heard of them until you posted the lyrics to that song. It so expressed my heart that I had to look the group up. I listened to part of the song and a couple others from With Abandon - and I love it!!!!!! I want that CD! :)

I actually quite enjoy children's songs and sing them regularly with the girls I teach on Wednesday nights. I thought I would add to the ones that were already here, many of which I still love dearly. :)

In fact I think I will sing another that my girls particularly enjoy.

I am a C
I am a C-H
I am a C-H-R-I-S-T-I-A-N
And I have C-H-R-I-S-T
In my H-E-A-R-T
And I will L-I-V-E E-T-E-R-N-A-L-L-Y

:)

Oh my gosh! Did I just read that correctly, JTB?
I am not sure what the problem is here tonight with all this music stuff but I think you read more into Michelle's post than was there. Most people who are Christians like the simple children's songs. They teach and are fun to sing at the same time. I have enjoyed the ones I have read on here tonight because they are dear to my heart and remind me of my childhood.

Hi Buck! :) I love the songs that I learned as a child, too. Very dear to my heart and hold so much meaning to me!

Jesus loves the little children
All the children of the world;
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight;
Jesus loves the little children of the world.

Jesus died for all the children,
All the children of the world;
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight;
Jesus died the little children of the world.

Jesus arose for all the children,
All the children of the world;
Red and yellow, black and white,
They are precious in his sight;
Jesus arose the little children of the world.

Jesus wants the little children,
To be careful what they do;
Honor father, mother dear
Keep their hearts so full of cheer;
Then he’ll take them home to glory by and by.

How lovely is Your dwelling place
O Lord Almighty
For my soul longs and even faints for You
For here my heart is satisfied
Within Your presence
I sing beneath the shadow of Your wings

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

One thing I ask and I would seek
To see Your beauty
To find You in the place Your glory dwells
One thing I ask and I would seek
To see Your beauty
To find You in the place Your glory dwells

Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

My heart and flesh cry out
For You, the living God
Your spirit's water to my soul
I've tasted and I've seen
Come once again to me
I will draw near to You
I will draw near to You

Better is one day
Better is one day
Better is one day in Your courts
Better is one day in Your house
Better is one day in Your courts
Than thousands elsewhere

I believe in faithfulness
I believe in giving of myself for someone else
I believe in peace and love
I believe in honesty and trust but it's not enough
For all that I believe may never change the way it is
Unless I believe Jesus lives

Where there is faith
There is a voice calling, "keep walking"
You're not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every Burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith

There's a man across the sea
Never heard the sound of freedom ring
Only in his dreams
There's a lady dressed in black
In a motorcade of cadillacs
Daddy's not coming back
Our hearts begin to fall
And our stability grows weak
But Jesus meets our needs if only we believe

Where there is faith
There is a voice calling, "keep walking"
You're not alone in this world
Where there is faith
There is a peace like a child sleeping
Hope everlasting in He who is able to
Bear every Burden, to heal every hurt in my heart
It is a wonderful, powerful place
Where there is faith

An oldie but goodie :D

Jesus loves me, this I know,
For the Bible tells me so.
Little ones to Him belong,
They are weak, but He is strong.

Chorus:
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
Yes, Jesus loves me.
The Bible tells me so.

Jesus loves me, He Who died
Heaven's gates to open wide.
He will wash away my sin,
Let His little child come in.

Jesus loves me, He will stay
Close beside me all the way.
Thou hast bled and died for me;
I will henceforth live for Thee.

Sufficiency of Grace

This may be the last of clear blue skies
There may be a storm on the horizon
I can't see it
There may be a hole above my bed
The rain may be fallin' on my head
But I can't feel it

If there is a shadow
I can't see it
If this is my cup
I'll learn to drink it
If there is a purpose
You'll reveal it
But for today I found my place
In the sufficiency of grace
In the sufficiency of grace

Some people may say I'm in denial
I just let them talk when all the while
I can't hear it
This trouble can seem so limitless
This world may be full of bitterness
But I can't taste it

repeat chorus

No need to explain my strange behavior
It's only that I have found a Savior
In my lowest please I found His favor

--Greg Pope

Put your RIGHT hand in
Put your RIGHT hand out
Put your RIGHT hand in
And you shake it all about
If you give your heart to Jesus
He will turn your life around
That's what it's all about!!

We bow our hearts
We bend our knees
Oh Spirit come make us humble
We turn our eyes from evil things
Oh Lord we cast out our idols

Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another
Give us clean hands
Give us pure hearts
Let us not lift our souls to another

Oh God let us be a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face
Oh God of Jacob
Oh God let us be a generation that seeks
Who seeks Your face
Oh God of Jacob

EROS has the joy :D :D

I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart. Where?
Down in my heart. Where?
Down in my heart.
I've got the joy, joy, joy, joy
Down in my heart. Where?
Down in my heart to stay.

CHORUS:
And I'm so happy, so very happy,
I have the love of Jesus in my heart.
And I'm so happy, so very happy,
I have the love of Jesus in my heart.

Additional Verses:
2. I’ve got the peace that passeth understanding down in my heart
3. I’ve got the love of Jesus, love of Jesus, down in my heart
4. I've got the wonderful love of my blessed redeemer, way down in the
depths of my heart

At the memorial/Mass service today for Marie's friend, Bea, her sons played an instrumental duet. One son playing the electric marimba (sounded almost like muted church bells) and her other son on sax. One of the songs they played was Somewhere Over the Rainbow which they then blended into Amazing Grace. Not a dry eye among the almost 1,000 parishoners at the service.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high,
There's a land that I heard of
Once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue,
And the dreams that you dare to dream
Really do come true.

Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far
Behind me.
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
Away above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me.

Somewhere over the rainbow
Bluebirds fly.
Birds fly over the rainbow.
Why then, oh why can't I?

If happy little bluebirds fly
Beyond the rainbow
Why, oh why can't I?

--music by Harold Arlen and lyrics by E.Y. Harburg

Amazing grace, how sweet the sound,
That saved a wretch like me.
I once was lost, but now am found.
Was blind but now I see.

Twas grace that taught my heart to fear,
And grace my fears relieved.
How precious did the grace appear,
The hour I first believed.

Thru many dangers, toils and snares,
I have already come.
This grace has brought me save thus far,
And grace will lead me home.

When we've been there ten thousand years,
Bright shining as the sun.
We've no less days to sing God's praise,
Than when we'd first begun.

--John Newton

Wow Dan! Thanks - so beautiful!

FOR BEA :D

Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home

I looked over Jordan and what did I see
Comin' for to carry me home
A band of angels comin' after me
Comin' for to carry me home

Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home

If you get to heaven before I do
Comin' for to carry me home
Tell all my friends I'm comin' there too
Comin' for to carry me home

Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home

I'm sometimes up and sometimes down
Comin' for to carry me home
But still I know I'm heavenly (freedom) bound
Comin' for to carry me home

Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home

If I get there before you do
Comin' for to carry me home
I'll cut a hole and pull you through
Comin' for to carry me home

Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home
Swing low, sweet chariot
Comin' for to carry me home

Dan, I bet that was wonderful. I love the song Amazing Grace. I think it a song that most believers and the "righteous" can really relate too.

Here's my very favorite song:

HE'S EVERYTHING TO ME

In the stars His handiwork I see,
On the wind He speaks with majesty,
Tho He ruleth over land and sea,
What is that to me?

I will celebrate Nativity,
for it has a place in history
Sure, He came to set His people free
What is that to me?

Till by faith I met Him face to face
and I felt the wonder of His grace
Then I knew that He was more
than just a God who didn't care
That lived a way out there

And now He walks beside
me day by day,
Ever watching over me lest I stray,
Helping me to find that narrow way
He's Everything To Me.

I was born by the river, yes I was
In a lewd sin, just like the river
Lord, I’ve been burning and incensed
It’s a long time coming
But I know, yes I know
My change surely has got to come some day

It’s a too hard living, oh Lord
Well, I’m afraid to die
I don’t know what’s in the sky
You see it’s been a long time coming
But I know, yes I know
If you keep on living, change will come

Then I go, I go to my brother
I say: Brother, help me please
Then he winds up in heaven deeds
He let me now lay down my needs
He will time hour hard
That would last too long
That makes unable to carry on
It has been a too long time coming
But I know, yes I know
My change’s gonna come
Yes it will
It’s gonna come one day
My change has gonna come
Just wait on it, wait on the change

Can’t you see it’s coming
Can’t you see it’s coming
Can’t you see it’s coming…
