My GE dryer of 15 years has died. I have had the Whirlpool Duet washer for about a year and half. I really don't care if my washer and dryer matches. Not many people are in my laundry room. I went to Lowes and these three dryers seem to be around same price range between 650 to 799. Thought maybe you could help me in my choice:

LG 7.3 cu. ft dryer, model:dlex265ow, cheapest at 650
Whirlpool duet 7.4 cu ft, wed94heaw, 799
samsung, 7.4 cu. ft. , dv405etpawr, 799

They are comparable as all have about 10 cycles, including steam cycle, not sure I will even want. If you have any thoughts on these or one that is not listed that you love, please share.

We have the Whirlpool Duet WGD94HEAW. Ours is a gas dryer and it might be the gas twin of the electric one you listed. We have had it for about 6 months and we love it. I think the most important item would be your washer. Many dryers, I think, do a similar job. What I like about this model is that there are several levels of heat you can use that can protect your clothing from shrinking and such. Since you already have the Whirlpool Duet Washer, I'd vote to match it up, even though you say matching doesn't matter to you.

I didn't think I would like my steam cycle, but I love it. :)

Thanks. We just don't have good luck with washers it seems. I never seem to have a set that matches for long, because we go through the washers it seems like every 5 or 6 years. Like I said my dryer lasted for many years and I wasn't about to buy a new one just so I would have a matching set. Guess now would be my opportunity though. Do you have a pedestal? I was too cheap to purchase one for my washer, but I'm thinking I may now.

We have the Whirlpool Duet with steam. We love the steam feature. We use it all the time instead of ironing. We have had ours for 5 years and no issues at all.

We do not have pedestals. We have our washer and dryer stacked on top of each other. The pedestal idea looks very nice. I guess it depends on your space and what you want to do with it.

DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EVER GET A MAYTAG BRAVOS Drier or washer. We got the set and in a years time we have had the repair man out 4 times for the drier and 3 times for the washer. Prior to that we had a GE for 25 years! Changed a belt a few times and that was IT!!

So sorry to hear about your trouble. That is horrible. I do not want that machine! I still am undecided. I have it narrowed down between the three that I mentioned in my earlier post and I may just have to draw straws:confused3
