choosing a compact flash card

I thought what the sales person said was a little off. I really questioned it when he told me that all the pro duos are interchangeable among all Sony cameras. I have an H-5 and an H-50. The cards from the H-5 came up with an error reading message because they had to be reformatted to the H-50. He said I was wrong. Right, I had different cards for each camera. I really hate that people work in departments that they have absolutely no knowledge of. I knew coming here would give me the answer I needed.

Office Depot has fantastic deals on all cards not just CF and they have several different brands of them.

...when I went to Best Buy the other day to price the cards as I want to buy a few more they had almost no selection and the saleperson said that they wouldn't even be carrying them soon as they are being discontinued since there aren't many cameras that even use them.

"Welcome to BestBuy, I am your sales droid and I know nothing but I will tell you all kinds of ridiculous things..."

SanDisk sometimes has some great sales on their cards (including the "discontinued" CF cards) through Adorama and other stores, like a 4GB Extreme III for $24 or 3x 8GB for $85.

There are way too many cameras out there that use compact flash cards. Even if none of the new cameras used those, which is not the case, they would still make them to fill the need of the people who use the older models.
