The chocolate souffle was absolutly my favorite food on the cruise. I'm cruising again soon but don't know if we're going to eat in Palos. My question is: Can you get the souffle to go? Or if you just go to the bar in Palos can you order it there? Or maybe I should stand outside of Palos and slip somone a 20 to get me a souffle on their wat out. (That last idea kinda brings back memories of my teen age years. I don't remember it being with a souffle though.)

Thanks for any help!

I've read about this souffle before. Looking forward to it. Just wondering, what other Palo desserts are worth trying (not that I'm going to order more than one dessert, but just in case anyone asks me).

HiDisney/ Cheer Mom Are you going on the Halloween Cruise???
I loved the souflee too.On our last cruise I had mentioned to our server on the fist night how I couldn't wait to get to Palo to try it because everyone raved about it. This was our 4th DCl onthe Magic and I hadn't been able to get ressies but was on the waiting list. Well My ds hated Flounders so we never got there.
Long story short My serer brought me and my dh one down from Palo the next to last night. I am not sure if this is customary but I am sure if you ask and they are able they may bring it to you.

I wonder also if you can go toPalo just for dessert becaue I thought they said the souflee has to be ordered when you start eating in order for it to be ready in time. Anyone know?

Although we did not do it, I have seen multiple posts stating that you can go to the bar and order dessert.

You need to order your soufle 20 minutes before you are ready for it.

Just for a change of pace once, I ordered the Tiramisu for dessert. I think it's probably the best I have ever tasted. The Souflée gets all the press, but you're certainly not settling if you go for the Tiramisu. Since then, I've ordered both about equally as often.

Much as we LOVED the choc souffle.................. personally, the cappuccinno mousse was MY favourite! Am salivating at the mere thought of it! Yummyyyyy Nat:Pinkbounc

Is the Souffle sized for one person, or two? (In normal terms, not necessarily cruise terms, since I know that "pigging out" is a by-product of cruising sometimes.) (Can't wait to try it and am hoping I can have one all to myself...)

Thanks!

Can you order a souffle ahead of time and go pick it up to take back to your room? Of course we would not forget to tip if this was possible. Just don't think we will be able to make it to Palo for dinner----will maybe do the brunch----but would love to try this for the first time since so many rave about it!! Thanks

I AM planning to order more than one dessert--every night! LOL :earseek:

The chocolate souffle is wonderful, but to really enjoy it at its decadent best, order the pana cotta with it. The pana cotta (sp?) is so smooth, velvety and creamy that it is a perfect foil for the dark, rich chocolate of the souffle. Try it, it's a wonderful combination. Also, the tiramisu is a terrific dessert. If you want something lighter, try the sweet pizza, it's great, too. As a matter of fact, I don't think you can go wrong at Palo.

When we go, we usually order 3 desserts between the 2 of us. And share them. so if there are 3 good choices we have the bases covered.
:hyper:

I have not been to Palo. Now, reading dis4me's post, on our next cruise, I am going to request this souffle on the first night at dinner in the hopes that our server might be able to arrange a "souffle delivery" to our table on one of the following nights. ;)

This is the first I've heard of a bar at palos. Do you need reservations to order the souffle at the bar? Do you still pay the service charge?

We are on the 3 day cruise, so I can't enjoy the brunch, and I don't think we'll be able to make if for dinner either. But, I would love to try the souffle!

I would like to order the sweet pizza to take to our room for our DD's birthday. Can you call during the day and have them have it ready by 5:00 or so?

Hmmmmmmmm.........the chocolate souffle sounds yummy.... Didn't plan on going to Palos on our 4 day though......does anyone know if you can get it to go :moped: or delivered by room service? TIA!

Hi there!!!
I was able to have the souffle in the dining room during one of our last days on the ship. It was DH's birthday and I asked if he could have on in the dining room. They do need advance notice. I think on friday night they brought about 4 of them to our table!! It was superb! Our servers were excellent and did so much to make our trip extraordinary!!! By the way we had Sanjeev and Cornwall. They were great!! We had a table for 15 and every noght was wonderful!!
Enjoy!

If I remember correctly, Tiramisu is their signature dessert...althought the souffle' gets all the press. :)
