*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I heard talk of a binder and came right over;)

Earl is really good, but not a must do for me. It's really affordable though.

I take 2 bags and a carry on.

I need to see pics of your binder again. Heidi's binder is just amazing too!!!

Have you tried Bongos? Maybe I can head over to ESPN for lunch.

Ok so if you take 2 bags and a carry on just for yourself, 6 checked pieces of luggage for 4 isn't that ridiculous.

I've always wanted to try Bongos, but no one else ever wants to go. It gets mixed reviews. We have a good Cuban restaurant out here....

ESPN is always good pub grub.

I'm going to try and do just one bag and do more laundry (late at night of course)

ESPN is good, safe food. I've been to the one in NY. Plus, it has a bar.

We may try Bongos if there's no wait. I do love black beans and rice and tostones.

Ehhh laundry. The horror, the horror!!! It'll be easier next year with the villa.

How can you even question taking your laptop??? Of course you need it! How else will you do live updates???:thumbsup2

I wouldn't bother with work out wear..............you're going to be walking 15 miles a day as it is. Don't forget your swimsuit.....you don't want to miss out on hot tubing.......maybe there'll be some New Jerseyians if you're lucky!:rotfl2:

I know I'm wierd, but I LOVE doing laundry on vacation.

OMG I completely forgot about live updates!!! I will definitely bring it. It should be interesting :rolleyes1

You have a point about the work out wear. Not sure about the hot tubbing. I don't want to float around in butt soup :scared1:

And if I run across anyone from the Garden State making group trips to the restroom, I'm running!!! :rotfl2:

I know I'm wierd, but I LOVE doing laundry on vacation.

You are weird :rotfl2: Do you do it in the villa? Or the outside facilities?

I always carry my laptop with me on trips.

For maps, I think the Passporter has the best maps. (You have a Passporter, right?) I feel like their maps are very accurate. Much more so than the actual Disney maps.

I also LOVE changing my hair color. I think I'm going to go dark next weekend (I'm having my hair done by my favorite stylist ever in Chicago while I'm home!)

Beaches and Cream is on my must do list. So if you go there, I will be excited to hear your review!

What is the epipen for?

17 days!!!! :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

9. Decide whether or not I'm going to bring the 17'' monster that is my laptop. How many of you carry your laptops?

2. I'm thinking of collecting pressed pennies with T. I know there are a bunch of machines in the MK. But what about the other parks and resorts? Is it worth buying that book to hold the pressed pennies?

3. How much luggage do you take? Mom and I figured we'll have 6 pieces of luggage to check. Before anyone passes out, we are exempt from American's luggage fees because we bought our tickets in January. Buying early definitely pays off!

4. Lunch on arrival day: Counter service at CR, Beaches and Cream at the BC, or something in DTD? I've been reading lots about Earl of Sandwich. Is it really that good? I love Boars Head deli stuff. We love Cuban food and would be interested in trying Bongos. But, being half Latin, I'm hesitant. I'm so used to my grandmother's cooking. I'd be very disappointed if it's horrible.

Decisions, decisions!!!

9. I brought the laptop for the first time.... I'm glad I did. Felt more "connected" with my family - of course, you are going WITH your family... lol It was good to look at a quick menu, or double check something on DIS, etc....

2. Pennies: well... how much extra "things" do you want to be adding to your trip? You said you wanted to try the Kidcot, but if you add the pennies too... I'm just the kind of person that, if I decide to do something like that, then I'm all gung ho and don't want to miss an opportunity. Sometimes that takes away from the flow of other things - am I making any sense? If not, feel free to ignore me..

3. We checked three bags, I carried on purse and laptop bag, DH carried on my carry on bag :goodvibes , and DD had a small carry on with a purse.
Came home with a larger carryon *just $25 with a $50 purchase at World of Disney :woohoo: , packing my initial carry on.

4. What time are your Chef Mickey reservations? You don't want to go nuts with elaborate lunch plans if you need to get back (especially if the rooms not ready yet, or your luggage isn't there yet if you take ME) and then rush like crazy to get to your dinner reservations.

Ok, I think my work is done for now.... :lmao:

beaches n cream is good. Really what you're going there for is the atmosphere and desserts. The food is average to good.

I'll bring my laptop and have my dad carry it :rotfl2:

I do have a Passporter and love their maps!! I plan on bringing the entire book. It's one of my favs.

Changing hair color is so much fun. I LOVE going to the salon. You have to post pics of your new hair color.

Beaches and Cream is probably the only place I'll take food pics :lmao:

I had pretty severe allergic reactions that landed me in the ER a couple of years ago. I have severe environmental allergies that have been controlled with shots, Zyrtec, and sinus surgery. But this reaction was different. My eyes swelled and I couldn't breathe. Well, my ENT tested a bunch of foods. I'm allergic to mango and carrots, but am sensitive to about 20 other things. Some things set it off, but it's hard to tell. The docs have a hard time pinpointing exactly what's causing the anaphylaxis so I have to carry the Epipen. If I can't breathe, I have to stab myself in the leg with it and call an ambulance. I'm hoping that won't happen at Disney :scared1:

Jen - quit trying to overwhelm me and make me feel bad for working instead of planning my Disney vacation! :rotfl2:

Don't forget to get the pretty multicolored binder tabs from Wal Mart. They have pockets. Everybody needs extra pockets! :thumbsup2

I need to finish my binder. It seems always a work in process.

I need to do these items from your list:
2.
3.
4.
5.
Thank you for making MY to do list for me! I knew you were good for something. :lmao:

5 - I am packing 1 workout outfit, just in case. They gym is free at BC. DH will likely work out more than once. If I do once, I will feel good about myself. I love those disappearing calories!

6 - Done.

7 - I don't have to buy one, but I have to find my extra memory and ascertain if it's enough. That's a big word.

8 - N/A for me. I did refill my "other" prescription the other day. Then forgot to take my pill this morning. Ugh.

9 - My laptop is a must. I have to check email daily to keep up with what my whacky employees are doing while the cat's away.

10 - Done - 2 weeks ago :)

Answers:
1 - It has been 10 years. I don't know.
2 - See above.
3 - We are each taking one 26" or 24" (I consider these large) checked bag and 1 carryon. I have discovered that I can very quickly load 53+ lbs into my 26" bag, so I don't need anything larger. I think they DO charge extra for extra bags on my airline. You still have time to ship ahead, chica. Why not ship one of those SIX suitcases??
4 - See #1 above.

Did not know you are half Latin. Learn somethin' new every day! :thumbsup2

I want to take Jordan with me too, to do laundry.

My Blackberry connects me enough to my family and friends, not to mention work :headache: Yes, I get work related email that I don't read in the summer. I'm thinking T can watch dvds and I can transfer photos.

If we do the pennies, we do them. I'm not going to hunt for them. That would take WAY too much time. I just like to have options. Like the chocolate monorail option :lmao:

You checked one bag per person. That's reasonable.
I don't like carrying on too much. I want to maintain my posture and not be a hunched over old lady in 30 years.

Chef Mickey's is at 6:30. I know we're going to be hungry after the flight. I guess I'll have to play it by ear. It all depends on what time ME gets us to the CR.

I also babysit. I did some of Wendy's laundry on our last vacation.....:thumbsup2

Are you free from August 9th-16th? I'll send a ticket :lmao:

We stayed there last trip and had 6 adults in there and it was fine with space! Having the 2 bathrooms was GREAT!

Ohhh 2 bathrooms is a dream!!!!

Maybe we can stop there just for dessert after lunch in Epcot.

I decided that I think you should play it by ear about lunch. Wait til you get there and just go with the flow. Wherever you end up, get lunch.
