*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

:lmao:

Did you send your ship ahead box yet?
No, I did the shipping calculator on UPS Ground and it will be 11.14 and needs to be shipped Monday the 4th to arrive on Thurs the 7th. So that will be in the hands of my DH.

He is prepared. He knows he'll be in trouble if he doesn't :)

Plus, it's a good thing, because I ordered more of my protein cookies today that should be here by then to ship ahead. Well, we'll see.

Year before last.... we plan on doing it again this trip

Your kids will love it!

What kind of protein cookies do you get? Some of the protein stuff tastes like cardboard :scared:

They are apex from 24 hour fitness. I only like 1-2 flavors.

I put my travel dates on the enchanted calendar. you should put yours.

How did you add it to the calendar? PM Scott?
There is a "how to" place over there. You ask for it there and it magically appears on the calendar. I asked him to add yours, but he said you must ask directly.

Even if he likes to play canasta in public restrooms?????
No rhythm required there. Obviously, else maybe he wouldn't have gotten caught! :rotfl2:

don't ask............don't ask................don't ask..........

I never understood playing cards in the restroom :sad2: Why? Surely there are better places. Like a car :rotfl2:

Buenos Dias!!!

I PMed Scott and he said he'd put in on this afternoon.

I subscribed to Touring Plans and am probably going to figure out a course of action.

I feel so disorganized!!!

I feel so un-ready. I went through and purged a bunch of silly information-only stuff (miles and miles of lists of "magical moments" that will never affect our family) this morning to lighten my binder.

I am also thinking of leaving part of the binder at home (Like the customized Disney maps), to save space and weight. We won't use those while we're there.

I have to make a to do list.

That will have to happen tonight. Today I have to work. Danged work gets in the way!

I don't feel ready either. I'm usually the type of person that goes with the flow. But in Disney, you can't. Too many lines, ADRs, parades, and fireworks.

I'm in the midst of getting things together that I want in my binder. My binder will be a way for me to organize important information that has to go with me. Besides travel documents, I want to bring my Garden Grocer order confirmation and receipt and my Memories By Betsy order confirmation.

While I like to have a plan, I cannot possibly follow a touring plan that sends me from one attraction to the next, without time to smell the roses in between.

I'm leaving the customized maps at home also. They're not the most practical thing to bring. Plus, I'll just pick up a park map at the resort or at the park.

I need to make a to-do list.

Work always gets in the way!

17 days!!!! :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1: :yay: :cool1:

I'm excited, but have lots to do!

I've decided to spend the day doing trip-related things. Here's my list:

1. Get a binder, dividers, and page protectors to organize all of my documents and other important info.

2. Arrange binder.

3. Print out useful info from TGM, Touring Plans, and the Disney websites.

4. Make a final packing list. This list will mostly be the clothes that are not exclusive Disney clothes.

5. Decide if I'm going to pack workout wear. Will I actually work out? Will the fitness facilities call my name? Or will I avoid them like the Black Plague? It is Disney. There are no calories in Disney. They magically disappear. Poof! They're gone. That's what I keep telling myself :rolleyes1

6. Prepay for the Photopass CD.

7. Buy 4GB Memory Stick Pro Duo for my camera.

8. Call doctor for a refill on my Epipen prescription. Why haven't I done this? I'm in denial that I even need this.

9. Decide whether or not I'm going to bring the 17'' monster that is my laptop. How many of you carry your laptops?

10. Figure out what color my hair's going to be for the trip. I'm having a semi permanent rinse done on Tuesday. These are my fav because they eventually wash out and allow me to experiment without completely damaging and drying out my hair.

Some questions for you:

1. How is the Main Street Barbershop? Should I trusth them to cut T's hair. Or is it all about blue gel and Mickey confetti?? Not interested in that.

2. I'm thinking of collecting pressed pennies with T. I know there are a bunch of machines in the MK. But what about the other parks and resorts? Is it worth buying that book to hold the pressed pennies?

3. How much luggage do you take? Mom and I figured we'll have 6 pieces of luggage to check. Before anyone passes out, we are exempt from American's luggage fees because we bought our tickets in January. Buying early definitely pays off!

4. Lunch on arrival day: Counter service at CR, Beaches and Cream at the BC, or something in DTD? I've been reading lots about Earl of Sandwich. Is it really that good? I love Boars Head deli stuff. We love Cuban food and would be interested in trying Bongos. But, being half Latin, I'm hesitant. I'm so used to my grandmother's cooking. I'd be very disappointed if it's horrible.

Decisions, decisions!!!

I heard talk of a binder and came right over;)

Earl is really good, but not a must do for me. It's really affordable though.

I take 2 bags and a carry on.
