Yup! I sleep in everyday! until school starts anyway! But we got a new dog today, so I dont know how early I`ll be up with him tomorrow! Hes 3 years old..

Schedule another trip for June

That WOULD be a hoot!
DD doesn't finish her finals until June 18 I think, so we would not go until the last week of June. I must call later today.

Mom & Dad actually expressed interest in tagging along. I'm going to see if I can book two rooms with DH's discount. They would pretty much "do their own thing" - Mom was looking at my pictures of the Dolphin and said she'd be content to just stay put right there!

Jen - I have the same "Little Red Riding Hood" costume - wore it for school, also! My BEST costume, however, was the year I wore the school uniform. I was very deadpan about it, so the little kids went wild. Remember, most of the 7th and 8th graders were taller than me, so I fit RIGHT in. The little ones giggling as I walked by was priceless.

Good thing I had the neosporin in the travel bag last night - DD came home from horse riding camp all scraped up. Dang horse bucked her. Grrrr

We could potentially have a really large group of people on our hands.

So, here is my question -- we always go at the beginning of June and it is not too, too crowded. What are crowds like at the end of June?



Is your DH a teacher? I always think about the Swan and Dolphin because of the teacher discounts, but I don't know if I can give up the dining plan. Do they still use Disney buses or are you on your own for transportation?

Crowds ebb and flow at the end of June! We've been in huge crowds, and small ones. It's hard to say.

No, DH works for the company that owns the Swan & Dolphin.

We aren't "dining plan" people - could NEVER eat all that food or plan that precisely - so we don't miss it. All Disney perks are the same, except you can't charge to your room in the parks and you can't use ME.

I'm trying to figure out of if I should factor in some time to stop by the Kidcot stations. T had zero interest in June 2007, but he was only 3 and slept through most of the World Showcase. In January 2008, we didn't stop at the stations. We were only there for a weekend and T just turned 4. He was far more interested in The Seas with Nemo and Friends, Living with the Land (he LOVED it), Test Track, and looking at the trains in Germany.

Now T is 4.5 and about to enter Pre-K. I'm thinking maybe he'll be interested. He'll have an Epcot passport (in the gift basket) to provide a little entertainment and motivation as we tour the countries. He loved Mexico, Norway, and Germany (who wouldn't love that toy store?), but wasn't as interested in the others. He's not a complainer and won't whine that he wants to leave. But I want him to get something out of his experience at Epcot, in particular the World Showcase.

So what do you think? Do you think the Kidcot stations and passport will entertain T? Or is Kidcot not worth it? What's been your experience?

I think he would have fun doing the whole mask with charms thing at the WS Kidcot stations! Besides, he will be standing right there anyway to get the CMs to sign his passport.

You have a point. I doubt he'll sit and color and draw. He's really not that into it. But he may get into collecting the charms.

Were your kids into Kidcot? I imagine Chelsea would not enjoy it.

We did them in 2004 -- it was fun, but once was enough. The kids haven't asked to do them since.

Jen, I think he'd really enjoy it. I plan on doing it with DS this year, and he'll be 3.5 when we go. We only did one or two of them last year, but really, it's just good for a break, grab a sit, let him get out some creative energy, and collect the charms. Plus, we love how they write his name in China, and usually the cast members are so friendly.

I say, go for it.

Plus, if you factor in some down time this way for T, it gives you more of an opportunity to enjoy your beverage of choice...champagne in France, slushie margarita in Mexcio...

Can't help you with kidcot. I have never seen it. I don't think they had it when Katie was that age. At least I don't remember.

Jen - how did you establish your 2-hour time window for Garden Grocer? I picked the window that started an hour before my flight arrives. Maybe it will get there right as we are getting to the resort, but not after.

DD would have loved it at that age, had they had Kidcot. I think you should play it by ear. Because... remember... it might be really crowded in August and you might not want to "waste" the time....

"Raggedy Ann"... get a load of the pantiloons.... LOL

Good point TK. While T is coloring and exploring a different country, I can explore some beverages.

Since we're staying at the Contemporary our first night, I picked a two hour window on Sunday. I want my order to be delivered to the Poly. I picked 11-1. We won't be in our room, so bell services can hold it until we get back. Actually, I'm not even sure our room will be ready that early.

If the Kidcot stations are mobbed, we'll skip it and come back. But if it's empty and in an air conditioned space, we're there!
