This was back when they started the search around Labor Day.
The time frame between rounds was shorter.

Also they assume that you've read the dates and are agreeing that you can go before you even submit the first round.

I get that. I guess for me I know that I don’t have any engagements that week, but I also haven’t had work block my schedule and reschedule things because even though I’m hopeful, deep down I know the odds of becoming a panelist are slim to none. I saw a quote once from one of the admins that you have a better chance of being a nasa astronaut than becoming a panelist.

At this point if I had to guess I'd say announcements come this week Thursday and they give until Monday to submit.

in all honestly that could happen! Clearly they aren’t following the blueprint of past years so anything is possible! Who says we have to have at least 2-3 days between announcements and a round opening!? They could realistically announce and open the round the same day. I just can’t imagine they would be able to take this amount of time for round 2 review. It’s going to be a close window.

I wish they just gave us a date. I know they don't want to lock themselves in that way, but if they said something like 'results will be sent out on Sept 29th' even though it's longer than i'm expecting it to take, not having to wonder every day if this will be the day would be worth it.

I think it’s probably more fluid than that. They probably only get through a certain amount each day and it’s probably not the only thing they’re doing. I’m sure they’re filming all those posts and YouTube videos and doing whatever else they normally do during the first half of the year. Then you throw in sick kids, other commitments, and whatever else and you’re automatically behind. I agree it would be nice if they said something like results will be sent out after September 20th or something like that but at the end of the day, I like to think they’re giving everyone their due diligence. I just wonder what was so different about this year that it’s that much longer. Maybe all our applications were so great they can’t decide

This was my first year applying and I made it to the 2nd round. I'm shocked, honestly. I wanted to apply for years but I've never felt good enough. Even if I don't make it past this, I'm happy.

Made it to the second round!!! I’ve never made it before. I know how much it sucks to not advance. I’m sorry for everyone who didn’t.

I have mixed feelings about this.
I didn't have any expectations, yet I'm disappointed.
At the same time I am relieved. My wife got bad news with her health 2 weeks ago. Perhaps this is a sign on what is about to come for us...
