I'm downloading lots of music from my teen years. I wish I were younger!

I know it! Some of my former students have come to visit me to show off their prom pictures and I keep thinking, "I want to go to prom again! I want a sparkly formal to wear with matching shoes and jewelry." Since I don't visualize myself being a part of the country club or the Junior League here in town, I am not sure how to remedy that situation.

You'll have to figure out how to frame the NKOTB in terms Chelsea will be able to grasp.
Something like, "Now Chel, these were the Jonas Brother's of mommy's time."

Exactly! She will totally understand the concept of a boy band, and I can think to myself, "Only they were cuter and way more talented!"

OMG I forgot all about prom. Everyone at my HS got their prom dresses from Klienfeld's, the bridal store. I have to dig out my black satin number

I had black satin, too! With a rhineston buckle belt thing and lots of black tulle!!! I still have mine in a bag in my closet -- I couldn't bear to get rid of it!

Awwww I'm sorry you didn't get to go to prom. We need to have a dismeet and make it a prom theme. We can wear the worst satin and tulle dresses we can find and Scott and Jordan can wear tacky tuxes.

Or some great love standard from the 80's/early 90's like Paula Abdul's "I Wanna Dance with Somebody" or Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You" or Vanessa Williams' "Saved the Best Last" or Cyndi Lauper's "Time after Time."

King and Queen could be crowned in front of the castle...
Innumerable t-shirts and pins saying "Disney Prom 2008" could be hocked for outrageous prices...

I was over school by that point. My form of school protest was working at Pier 1 on prom night. Yup, I really showed them.

We won't go into my forms of protest during my senior year which included ditching my AP Economics exam to go to the beach with some Marines. Yep, I really showed them when my butt was sitting in a college economics class.

Well, living in Charleston I had the pick of the Citadel, the Navy, the Air Force, and the Marines.
