*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

I'm still stressing over ME vs. a town car company. I'm scared that Disney will lose my luggage or it will arrive so late that I'll have to sleep in the same clothes I wore on the plane :scared1:

The wait at the airport also makes me slightly apprehensive. I like to get off the plane, grab my bags, and head straight to the resort. The thought of stopping at resorts and delaying my fun doesn't sound appealing.

While I had a great experience in January, I fear the summer crowds :scared:

it sounds too stressful for you so take a car.

the wait at the airport was 5 minutes in line and 10 minutes on the bus.

I would just sleep naked and then go get clothes in the gift shop the next morning. a reason to shop. :rotfl2:

I personally would want the money for the car to spend in the park and buy myself something nice. We took in JUly and it was not bad. I think the line wait then was 10 minutes.

I haven't used ME. We use a town car service that the DIS won't let me name, the horror. We love them and have used them twice and will be using them again in January. I like making a grocery stop, I like getting off a crowded plane and getting help with my bags and getting into my own set of wheels and I like having my luggage right away. Most of all I like not getting picked up 3 hours before my return flight. Every last hour in the magic counts for me baby! And at $82 r/t plus tip I find it a worthwhile expense.

Allyson :)

If it's that big of a deal then just throw money at the problem and take a towncar....the stress is not worth the $100+ it will cost. I took a towncar prior to ME being offered and it was fun to have someone waiting with a sign with my name on it.

TAKE THE TOWN CAR!!!!!!!!!:drive: :tink: :car:

(..and I always pack a swimsuit in my carry on... As Scott says, you can buy what you need if you have to, or to put it more bluntly, as my DH says, "We're not going to a THIRD WORLD COUNTRY. They have STORES!"
Gotta love DH....
BUT - the swimsuit is mandatory... I can NOT just "buy one off the rack" if my luggage, heaven forbid, got lost! :scared1: )

but u don't get that cute video in a towncar. :)

I know nothing about ME or flying into Orlando :(. I am no help whatsoever!

I wish I could drive to Disney. But just the thought of staying in car that long with my family freaks me out :scared1: :lmao:

If I go to the gift shop, I'll be in Mickey shorts, a Minne t-shirt, and Crocs.

10 minutes isn't bad. I wish I could get a Fastpass for ME.

The town car is very appealing right now.

I agree about swimsuits. I cannot just walk into a store and buy something. I'm pretty particular.

We loved using a town car service. So much fun to see our name on a sign to be picked up.

Oh I hadn't thought about the sign. It's nice to know someone's waiting for you with a car just for you.

Now I seem like I don't like to share :rotfl:

but u don't get that cute video in a towncar. :)

I wonder in lieu of the video on ME would be able to get a bar in a limo.

Go for the towncar! :goodvibes

I am beginning to agree with you!

I figure it'll be a nice transition from inflight cocktails to Disney cocktails. I have to ease into my Lapu Lapu with a couple of vodka/crans

Will you be able to stand up-right when you get to the resort? Or will a wheelchair be needed?

If you can swing it i'd go for the town car.... I like any way of having control of my surroundings... having my bags with me upon checkin is a huge plus:thumbsup2

Now, THAT was funny.... :goodvibes :rotfl:

I figure since I teach children for 10 months each year and I'm voluntarily going to a place where there will be lots of kids, I should drink en route. I wouldn't want indulge too much once I get through the Disney gates. Lapu Lapus don't count because they're Disney drinks. I keep telling myself that they magically do not cause a hangover.

You're just like me! I like to control where my things are going. I need to know my bags and I arrive at the resort at the same time.

I wonder if checking myself with my suitcase would be appropriate. Oh wait, I'd probably be chared the $25 second bag fee.

Hi`ya Jennifer! I read both sides of the ME VS Towncar question..
I vote for Towncar...I love the ME because of the video and the being part of Disney before you even get anywhere..:cloud9: but, if your worried alot about the luggage and want the security, get the Towncar...I really like the idea of a bar also!!! :rotfl2: Bring a pineapple, you can make a Lapu Lapu on the way!! :thumbsup2

Hi!!!

Right now I'm leaning toward the town car. But that could change.

I'm going to core the pineapples before I go to the airport.

Love the angel/devil in your siggie. But who's the man? Your husband? And what or who's Buzz?
