Jennifer, was dessert a bottle of grey goose?;)

Sorry everyone! A friend came over with a boyfriend crisis and blocked my DISing for the rest of the night.

We voted on our school calendar for next year. Unfortunately, that extra long weekend in October is no longer there :sad2: At first, I was so bummed. No MNSSHP for me, at least not this year. But then I kept looking at the rest of the calendar.

Good News!!! School will be closed for two weeks in December/January!!!!
I'm off from December 20-January 4. Looks like MVMCP for me :thumbsup2 I've always wanted to see the holiday decorations at Disney and never was able to go. I'm hoping to get a great bounceback offer in August that I can use in December.

I have a few questions:

1. What's Disney like in December?

2. Best resort to stay at during the holidays?

3. What did you think of MVMCP?

4. I have two weeks of dates to play with. What dates do you suggest? The days before Christmas? New Year's Eve? Right after New Years day?

Too bad about October. :(

1. Disney is beautiful in December with all the decorations. We went in 2004 right before Christmas.

2. From the pictures I have seen, AKL, WL, and GF would get my votes for the best Christmas decorations. I believe all the resorts decorate some for Christmas though.

3. Never been.

4. It's going to be crowded no matter what. I think the days before Christmas and after New Year's are the least crowded though. What does TGJ say about it all? :rotfl2:

I'm pretty excited about possibly going in December. I think it will be so much fun. I wonder if I could still wear my Halloween costume.

Is that giant gingerbread house in the GF?

I just have to deal with the crowds. That means lots of lapu lapus in the evening.

Hmmm I wonder what TGJ thinks.

:rotfl2: It's Disney, you can do anything you want!

Yes, the giant gingerbread house is in the GF :lovestruc .

I think if you do it right, the crowds won't bother you too much.

You're right. I just need to plan, plan plan! I think I may book this weekend just to make sure I can get a room. If I can't go, I can always cancel later.

I wonder if I should reserve the GF. So many decision!!!

We went Dec 15-22 in 2006. Got the pleasure of the decorations (they are beautiful, Osbourne Lights are great) yet not the insane Christmas crowds. When we left the 22nd that was when it started to feel crowded (we did MK that morning). I would do the week leading up to Christmas again in a heartbeat!

WL and GF would get my vote, both were beautiful. GF has the Gingerbread House and WL had a huge tree. We did the Sleigh Ride at the WL and that was nice once, wouldn't do it again, but it was nice once.

Oh oh and Holiday Illuminations, awesome!

Thanks for the info Allyson :thumbsup2

I'm thinking the week leading up to Christmas too.

The decorations just look so beautiful in photos. I want to see them up close!!!

Which resort were you at in December?

We had 2 rooms at Pop Century. Which turned out to be fun and we enjoyed it. Would have loved a deluxe but alas at this stage of the game it is not in the cards for us! We visited Poly, CR, WL and GF that trip though for various ADRs and to see the decorations and they were so lovely!

Wow that is a long winter break! I vote for the week before Christmas too. My understanding is that the week between Christmas and New Year is the busiest time of the year. :confused3

Check into the educator's discounts at the Dolphin for that period of time also, but I have a feeling they won't be available at Christmas break. :guilty:

The Swan-Dolphin thread has some great pictures of the Christmas tree in the Dolphin's lobby, so take a look! ;)

We might be going to Jacksonville during that time period - sad visit to see DH's niece... 20 years old diagnosed with Lou Gerhig's disease. Want to see her before she gets really bad.

Maybe we'll add a few days in Orlando...

I'd like to do deluxe too, but the prices are so much higher during the holidays. So I'm thinking a moderate might be better.

That's what I'm thinking. Arrive on December 19th or 20th and leave by the 24th.

Sorry to hear about your DH's niece.

Maybe I'll bump into you at Disney for a lapu lapu :)

We are hoping to go for christmas time next year... I would love to see WDW that time of year!!
