*Chocolate and Pixie Dust* - An August 2008 TR- 8/29 pg 6: Sort of an update

Hurray for 19 days!!! :cheer2:

Alright, I'll give.

All the clothes I purchased for the trip are segregated to one section of my closet.:rotfl2:

Hello! I had three trip drawers of clothes and other various things!

Jen, can I be nosy and ask how much the basket costs? It is sooo cute and just chockful of goodies!!!

I am supposed to only pick one snack??? I can't do that! ;) Do drinks count as snacks? :rotfl:

Thanks!!! I'm super excited that the trip is less than a month away.

I guess we all separate our Disney stuff. It makes life easier!

The basket costs $180.68. That includes delivery and taxes. It's a little on the expensive side, but that was my fault. I kept picking out things to go in the basket. It's really up to you what you want in it, so it's easy to control the costs.

Ok,ok. You don't have to just pick one snack. And drinks count :lmao:

So DISers, what's your favorite, must have it every time, WDW snack?

I know how you feel about parking at the airport! :scared1:
Our house is 5mins from the airport and I just can't pay to park there when I can park my car in my own garage 5mins away. :confused3

I MUST have a funnel cake in MK and a funnel cake at the American Pavilion in Epcot. Yeah, I know...it's strange! But, whether I am full or not hungry, I have to get one! :lmao:

By the way, I love those baskets. Be sure to get good pics. I may get a basket for my DD, DNiece and DNeph next July!

Oh, Jen! I am in LOVE with that basket for T.

And suffering from envy.

Of a child's basket. I so want that for myself...I mean, my son! Sheesh!:lmao:

I haven't ordered the photopass book, but my mom has, and I've seen it. It's nice, but wasn't worth the cost imho. I think you can get nicer photobooks on other sites, and since with photopass you own the right to the photos, it's really easy to use something else for your vacation memories.

I've actually made a really cute book for my mom of her past trip, but haven't given it to her yet. I did an 8x8 from Shutterfly and it came out really, really nice. I have used them before with success, and there are some other sites I like too, if you're interested when you get back.

I can't pick one snack. Too hard! I definitely want a Dole Whip float on this trip, though.:goodvibes

I will definitely be there. Just let me know when you start one.

Oh you can do a ptr for next summer. I'm going to do one also. We're still trying to decide when we're going. It's either going to be June, July, or the beginning of August. I can't wait for 2009 rates to finally be released. Do you know which resort yet?

I will let you know. Yes, I am going to do one for the July trip, too. I will start that one in Jan maybe. :lmao:

We are thinking about ASMu Family suites. I have been looking into a 2 bdrm at a DVC resort, too. But I am loving the prices for ASMu Suites!

The basket is adorable! He will LOVE it!

I agree they rob you on the car services to the airport don't they!? I live about 20 minutes away from the airport and we always leave super early in the morning (before rush hour) and even then it costs us about $35 bucks one way with 2 of us. On the way home it's usually a bit more (I always allot about $60 for the ride home). We have tried out several car services and were lucky to find the cheap one nearby.

As far as snacks...
School Bread in Norway (their cin buns and sweet pretzels are yummy too)
funnel cake
cheese filled pretzels from the stand in MK in tomorrowland (near buzz)
dole whips
cookie ice cream sandwich in MK Bakery
and all the yummy stuff in Goofy's Candy Co in DTD (BEST use of a snack credit and a great way to bring home stuff too)

Ohh I love funnel cake too! It's T's favorite. Well that and Mickey rice krispie treats.

Betsy did a great job on the basket. I'll take lots of pics of the basket and T opening it. I'm going to do baskets again next summer for T and Jackson.

:lmao: T loves Pirates of the Caribbean. Is your son into pirates? Or does he just like what mommy likes?

Thanks for the tip on the photobooks. I'll look into Shutterfly also. I'm sure it'll be a lot less $$$.

I really need to try the Dole Whip and Dole Whip Float. I have never either one. Where have I been???

ASMu family suites looks great. And the price can't be beat. I worry and obsess over transportation between the resorts and parks. I need to investigate transportation at the All Star resorts.

I can't wait for T to see the basket. I need to have my camera ready!!!

NYC is so expensive when it comes to car services. But it's still cheaper than a yellow taxi. The taxis seem to find the traffic and sit in it while the meter keeps running.

I've never had any of the sweets in Norway. Hmm that's on my to-do list now. I can have some after my Fiesta Margarita in Mexico.

And the cookie ice cream sandwich sounds yummy. Can you choose what kind of cookies you want?

I'm so excited about Goofy's Candy Co. Shhh don't tell my dentist!

:lmao: T loves Pirates of the Caribbean. Is your son into pirates? Or does he just like what mommy likes?

I would say that he's definitely influenced by what we like, but this year he has developed, of his own accord, a deep an abiding love of Jack Sparrow.

I'm so proud.;)

The float is so refreshing on a hot day.:thumbsup2

Does he have a Captain Jack costume?

I think Disney should have a Captain Jack character breakfast with Johnny Depp. He can serve the dessert!

I wonder if they sell the float at the Poly. If so, it'll be my new pool drink.

That basket is adorable.... the mouse for less has a height chart for rides if u need it...

My fave snacks... Tie Die cheesecake at Pop Century, Funnel Cake and Dole Whip Float... in that order hehe

Love the basket! What a wonderful idea. T will love it. :goodvibes

Hmm, favorite snack. I did like my Dole Whips, but the sundae I had at Ghirardelli was really, really good. Does that count even though it's not owned by Disney?

And I'm sure it actually had enough calories that it doesn't warrant the term "snack..." :rolleyes1

No, that's my DH. ;)

But we do all dress like pirates, so DS has all the belts, bandanas, etc. It's too cute.

I know they have Dole Whips as part of the counter service, but I don't think they do the floats there. Not sure though. Anyone?

I plan on using Fuzzy Disney Math when I count the calories :lmao:

You have to take a pic in your pirate outfits!!!

Hmmm I wonder if the floats are there.

LOVE the Pirate basket!!! It's beautiful. (and is more than sufficent so you DO NOT NEED TO ORDER THE CHOCOLATE MONORAIL IN THE AUGUST FLORIDA HEAT.... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: )

We ALWAYS pack every toiletry need possible so as not to buy it in the parks or hotel. (after the $5 bottle of eye drops that had three drops in it)

Favorite snack: Dole Whip!
Favorite drink: Bacardi Tropical Breeze -Cabana Bar at the Dolphin
Favorite drink: Grey Goose Slushie - France
Favorite drink: Frozen Margarita - Mexico
Favorite drink: Mai Tai - Blizzard Beach
Favorite drink: Espresso Martini - Lounge Bar at the Dolphin
Favorite drink:..... I better stop here before you get the wrong idea....:rotfl:
:drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

get a home made ice cream sandwich from Main street bakery. so good.

the basket is really nice. WOW did u order a lot. mine was $50 - 60. looks great though.

I would love to do deluxe next June but the oens I am going with are happy with moderate and I cannot blame them, we psend 3/4 of the day away from the room so not there to enjoy it so why pay for it.

You Brooklyn people need to move to Manhattan. The 7 7's cost me $38 each way to La Guardia. :woohoo:
